Question: Double Post Loophole?

    I was just wondering how this is handled here. So if I'm doing like a challenge runthrough of a game and I'm ready to post an update, but doing so would result in a double post, would I get in trouble for that? Would I just have to wait for someone else to post first?
     
    Hmm... I don't think so. I update the "Pro Wrestling Thread III" all the time, even if people haven't posted.


    Oh, and your post is usually automatically merged anyway. But to be safe, edit the last post you have.
     
    Some forums do allow for double-posting. There should be something about double posting being allowed in the rules of that particular forum, but if you don't see anything you can just shoot a PM to the forum's moderator asking about it.
     
    Well, I just started the thread so it only has one post, so merging this next update with the first post wouldn't make much sense. I donno haha.
     
    Additional question on top of the original question.

    Does the auto-merge of double posts happen only if you post one post after the other?

    Or does this happen if you simply post after yourself even though it's been 3 days and no one else replied?

    I'm pretty sure it's only within a time limit that they are merged. Some people bump their hack threads with updates after a few days and the post appears as normal.
     
    Is it acceptable to double post if what you are posting is relevant but for some reason there aren't enough characters for one post? I've always been a bit confused by that. :[
