Double Post Problem

I posted in the "Raichu, Use Thunder" thread in the Pokémon Trivia section a few minutes ago using the "Go Advanced" option since I found that was the way to avoid double posting in extremely large threads. Trouble is...it still double posted and I had to go back and delete the extra post, which by the way, takes extremely long to process in a thread that large. Any ideas how to avoid that or some way it could be fixed since the supposed fix doesn't even work anymore?

The "Go Advanced" thing does not fix to the double posting issue, rather it lowers the chances of creating a double post.

I think it's a feature for mods to use a supper-effective move on us called [delete post].

But anyway, yeah, that's really a common problem that I've gotten used to already. ^^

I haven't seen any double posts by using Advanced Reply. However, I will just say that if you see a thread with anywhere between 1500-2000 replies in it, just switch to Advanced Reply instead of using Quick Reply, to prevent the double posting from happening. It's a glitch with the current forum software, so there isn't much the admins could do at this point I'm afraid.

But last night I did the Advanced post and it didn't work, that's why I started this. *sigh* I guess I'll just have to put up with it if it happens...

Double posts are usually caused by the javascript (used in quick reply) and is mainly based on how fast and efficiently your computer processes it. usually.

As noted above, we rarely see double posts using the advanced reply but if there are a lot of replies happening at once, it could happen due to how the database works (it locks the posts table for each posting..)

We have a addon that is suppose to stop the double posts, but like many things, it doesn't always work.

Know that with PC 2.0 we'll be addressing many site issues including double posts, so stay tuned for 2.0 sometime in the future.
