DP101 Discussion (Japanese spoiler alert)

I looked around and looks like it hasn't been made yet, soo... Well, there is a Jun thread, but eh. (If you feel it should be merged, go ahead?)

• Rival Jun is here! Which, much to my surprise, was different from what I expected. o_O I was expecting a clumsy, (still had plenty of running into each other crashes with Satoshi XD) but yeah, clumsy and not THAT confident. (Guess it was just me?) Yet he was very confident and seemed rather boastful and not shy at all. (Boy was I wrong *shrugs*) Regardless, he was funny. And talk about outrageous orange, want.
• Hellllloooooo stylish fashion gym leader~
• Haha, Hikari's face! Seems like Jun knows how to get on a nerve. He really seemed to tick people off.
• Was ready for a battle with Satoshi but aha, TR and their ... blatantly obvious trick. XD
• Empoleon was a jaw dropping shock and aww. Just awesome! I mean really, talk about a cool Pocket Monster.
• Um, yeah... Cacnea moment?
• Yes battle time! Close Combat Staraptor! >:D ...Only to get his chicken torched by dig evasion, haha. And nice, Roserade? Jun is full of awesome Pocket Monsters, far as my opinion goes. Gliscor vs. Rose was nice, punch till the end really.
• Metal Claw vs. Iron Tail? Dead lock for Empoleon, only for it to blast Chu into the sky! >8D ...I was kinda rooting for Jun, honestly. :x Who goes against orange, really? And it seemed kinda eh to me... That cry out classic ending, usual, I guess. I really thought Satoshi was done for there. Poor Empoleon. )':
• To be continued gym battle, eh? Nice preview too, looks to be an exciting gym battle with Fantina.

Overall, great episode! I really enjoyed it, had some nice laughs and action.

Yeah this is a good episode. I liked the part where team rocket start the motto and jun goes where mah pokemans! and helps fatina blast em off. Also hmm could he sticking around for the gym battle be a sign that he will tick round for a while?

Pretty enjoyable episode, pretty good battle.
Some good laughs in the episode, such as Melissa tossing Takeshi like a rag. IMO, Jun was more interesting than he was in the games, more amusing to see his personality.
Interesting new silly pieces of background music played.

Wow, Grotle was put in the opening *very* quickly

- LOL Jun was quick to hit Ash...well, hit him in the face with a door.
- What does "nandaio" (the word Jun keeps saying, I may not have spelt it right) mean?
- Hey, it's the GSC Bug catching contest theme! And here comes Melissa with the English...
- LOL is that music they play whenever Jun appears new?
- Did a mishear, or did Jun say "Shinji-kun"? And he's talking about the tag-battle? Is he saying he watched Satoshi and Shinji in the tag-battle?
- Does Hikari know him!? Jun's talking about the tag-battle again...
- LMAO is Jun saying he didn't notice Takeshi in the tag-battle!? Aww...I dreamed of the day when a charecter would openly not notice him, but now I feel sorry for him...

- Is Jun a Shinji fan? I wanna see Jun run into Shinji so badly now...

And I think Jun was talking about battling James's Cacnea at Gardinea's gym

I think he is, too! He was kind of funny in the games, not as much as in the anime though. So that was new music they were playing?

Hopefully! They've put a good enough effort in to make him interesting, they'll probably let him appear more

"Nandaio" is what or "what the heck" with emphasis. xD He's so impatient.

I expected his voice to be maybe a bit..higher. And not as 'rude' it seems. (Don't countdown with people all the time!)
I do love the music that comes along with him, and how it changes pace with what he does.

D: I so do not like that he's a Shinji fan. He only remembers the people in relation with Shinji.
Hikari knows him from somewhere but I can't tell if she said from what exactly. But Jun cannot remember her, well when it's not in relation with Shinji. ADD Boy or what?

I like this episode.

• Jun being a Shinji fan bugs me a little. Not that I hate him, but... EW! They just have to make Jun bump into Shinji. Then he'll be like, "OH MY GOBSTOPPERS, SHINJI! I am a fan of you!"
• I realised Satoshi is shorter than Jun...
• Hikari says she knows Jun. Jun, why didn't you remember her?
• ROBBERS?! Why you little...
• I love the 10-second thing. It reminds me A LOT of Pearl/Damion...
• "OK, OK, we know, Musashi, Kojiro and Nyarth, right?" Somewhere along the lines. Jun's the second person I know to interfere in their motto. The first being Shinji.
• Well, well, we seem to find a similarity between them, eh?
• The battle was awesome. (EDIT)
  • Chimchar VS Staraptor. Reminds me of "Pika and Goliath".
  • Why can't Sato-kun have a Staraptor?! Everyone has one, but not him. Yeesh.
  • Now, moving on. Chimchar VS Roserade. Roserade was cool! I really love it!
  • Roserade VS Glion. Though it's cool, I want more Gliscor epicness. Why make them draw?
  • Empoleon VS Pikachu. I didn't quite hear the physical scream thingy, but this battle wasn't much of how I expected it. I expected Pikachu to lose.
  • "PIKACHU!!!" I was expecting Sato-kun to say that. His "faith" for Pikachu is obvious. AND I expected Pikachu to react, and win the battle. Ugh, so boring can't they have Empoleon win?
  • I was expecting the SatoPika huggy huggy. When I saw Pikachu running over to him, I thought, "Yeah, yeah, huggy huggy time, I WANT JUN!"
• Jun has the new Poketch model! Not to mention an orange one! (So that's why people keep saying Kengo was his anime counterpart...) No, wait. Kengo has a blue Poketch... Mistake. EDIT EDIT, I said nothing.
• Now I want to hug Jun... (EDIT)
• Jun grinding in his loss?! Why you writers... How dare you do that?!
• They FINALLY get to Melissa's gym! Ugh! More than 100 episodes already and they're not done? YARGHHHHH! (In my memories, Sato-kun is already done with the 6th gym in the AG series and in the original they were already in the Orange Island...) But I think they're focusing on the myths, yadda yadda yadda... Whch is nice, now that we have more Galactic epicness... I LOVE TG!!!! (a bit of a spam, EDIT)

Overall, I like the episode. Oops, I said it twice.

EDIT: The Cacnea moment was touching. I could see Kojiro's happiness to hear that Cacnea's fine... Then Nyarth and Sonasu pulls him away. THAT was the best part of the TR life. That James is not meanie. Everyone else in the team is not as nice as him. (Sparked a flame, eh? Defend my statement if you want.)

Well, I just was expecting more of an uncertain kid with a high voice. XD; Couldn't be further from it, really. I guess I should've expected it. I suppose I molded that expectation from his crushing loss to Galactic in the games, so I think I built him from that event.

And yeah, when Jun interrupted TR, I laughed. Good part.

I thought so too, he's much better from the games. Although I was expecting a "bet you x amount of currency!" towards Satoshi. Liked the music, too.

Actually I'm not too sure, they used Pichu Pika Swing from the 3rd movie pikachu short, probably some bgm from there as well. Well old forgotten music is renewed music so yeah. :P The jazzy silly music may very well have come from that pika short, but it fit Jun well.

He was always the softer, meeker one out of the trio though.

Please don't make any one of them the heroes. It would make the series no fun. AND there will be a lot of hard times for the other two, trying to hold up the team. No disbanding, no one-of-the-members-leaving-the-team-permanently crap. Without any one of them in the team, they are done for.

It IS a good idea to make Kojiro a good guy for a while, but maybe he misses his old life, he might return to TR. But before that, maybe Musashi will give a lot of death stares (AND talks about the things that happened after he left the team, and that causes Kojiro to feel guilty) to him, and Nyarth would probably think of him as a traitor, but deep down they still miss him. That would be a good idea, eh?

Really liked this episode. Might start watching all the Japanese versions, only watched this as I stumbled upon it on YouTube. And I've fell in love with High Touch <3

Anyway...

- Yay! He finally reached the Gym!
- Trust Jun to actually run into him, exactly like the game XD
- Oooh, Different style of Badge Case? Has different shaped slots for badges, compared to Ash's.. Interesting...
- Fantina! (Really wanna know how she sounds in the dub...)
- Jun again! Love him already.
- He's a fan of Paul...
- New Poketch! And Dawn loves it XD ...Screen's a bit small isn't it?
- Team Rocket, with a shop that keeps Pokeball with Pokemon in... How original...
- He interrupted their motto XD
- Aww, Cacnea <3 So glad that James knows it's doing well, he really loved that green spike ball...
- Oooh, a battle!
- Staraptor vs. Chimchar Not much special there...
- Chimchar vs. Roserade Wow, that Roserade is fast and strong...
- Roserade vs. Gliscor Yay! More Gliscor action <3
- Pikachu vs. Empoleon Very cool Empoleon. Pikachu physically screamed! Yay! He won!
- Finally, he's at the Gym... And it ends... At least we know it'll finally happen!

Preview:

- Looks like it's going to be an interesting battle
- Yay! More Jun! <3 Hope he stays round for a looooong while.
- Drifblim, Mismagius, Gengar... I love Ghost types...

Overall a great episode, surprisingly good since I never watch the Japanese version, can't wait till next weeks.

Lol everybody loves Jun for some reason. I thought originally he was kinda "ODD", but he is actually manlier than Ash. I expected Jun to talk like Ash. And seriously, Jun is a much better trainer than Ash. Actually the battle should have been:

Staraptor wins against Chimmy.
Gliscor wins against the weakened Staraptor.
Gliscor and Rose end in draw.
Pikachu(asumming he has Light ball) wins against Empy.

Seriously, i wanted Jun to win.

I'd totally agree to this. Shinji would just grunt angrily and walk off. Or if the writers want him to be a little bit nicer, he'd say, "Thanks," and STILL walk off. Then Jun would go gaga for him and follow him everywhere he goes, until Shinji gets angry and yells at Jun for being so annoying. Then Jun would be depressed and then Satoshi or Hikari would give him some spiritual lectures, then Jun'll go back to his own self.
