DP107 Discussion (Japanese Spoilers)

Well, this episode was interesting, to say the least. But anyone who's seen my posts knows I waited until next week's preview to see what I really wanted to see, and I saw it, and I am gits and shiggles for it.

-Bryon's a bit of a jackass
-Those two really hate each other, don't they? XD
-The battle between Rampard(os) and Trideps (Bastiodon) was pretty wicked. As always, the spectacle that is Rampard's Head Smash was beautiful to watch.
-Team Rocket makes perfectly circular holes somehow...with the holes they dig...with shovels.
-"HOLE DOWN HERE, BEAUTIFULLY DUG" <- Massive lulz.
-Why can't TR build mechas like that all the time? You know, ones that actually can put up a fight?
-That little make-up scene was touching, slightly.

k, now, excuse me while I gawk at the preview.

-How did I guess the Pokemon Ash was gonna use? Hahaha.
-Buizel and Chimchar are way too overused...He needs to use Grotle and Staravia more.
-GLION IN BATTLE, FACK YES ASJKLDHASLDKJSAHGDASBDJKWADNASWLKDSAIFJOASFF <3<3<3<3
-I loved Pikachu's ":O" face. Priceless.
-Chimchar vs. Steelix looks epic.
-The battle scenes were wicked.

-Glion looks like it's seriously getting in there. Great.

This is going to be one hell of a Christmas, I'll just declare that right now. =D

OH! I saw the pics of this episode and they looked really neat...I have to say the way Byron's Bastiodon is well trained with that big head it has, seems like a tough obsticle to get through...cannot wait for this episode and the many others to hit the states...

The episode... I didn't enjoy it all that much. By my count we saw just five Pokémon - Rampard, Trideps, Pikachu, Pochama and Nyarth. And Pochama barely made a sound, if I remember correctly. I thought that most of the episode to rather boring, the battle between Rampard and Trideps to be uninspired and the overall plot to be stock. The part where Tougan looks down Roketto-dan's hole was good, but the joke was just getting old by the third 'all fall down' reaction. The battle episode hasn't got much to live up to, given the standard of today's episode, but I'm once again annoyed that Buoysel will be featured in the battle - I would've thought that Hayashigame would have made a better choice against Tougan's seemingly defense-orientated team, but no, we once again see Buoysel. Mukubird, for example, hasn't done anything vaguely interesting or important since the battle with Sumomo in DP068 - late February, for eff's sake. However, at least we get to see Glion finally participate in a gym battle, which was pretty much expected after it was revealed to have learnt Fire Fang.

Not impressed by today's episode. =/

I'm generally unimpressed by Ash's choice of using Buizel as well. And to be honest, with three Ice weaknesses, I can see Ash using it in the Snowpoint Gym battle, too. >=|

But we can at least expect Ash to fight Volkner with Pikachu, Gliscor and Grotle (or maybe Torterra? Hahaha, I'm a wishful thinker like that. =D).

BTW, was that glowing tackle Giga Impact? I sensed Metal Burst, but it could be just me...(From Bastiodon, of course.)

Music was *great* this episode

- Battle between Roark and, er, the other gym leader. Can't remember his name...
- I don't know why I still watch through the opening, I've been skipping the ending since the 2nd episode it was in
- What happened between gym leader 2 and Kyota (is that Roark's name?)? Did he steal something or something?
- Team Rocket's whispered dance was funny XD
- OMG GSC Trainer Battle Theme...REMIX!
- I like the music in the trading card advert...I'm sick of the Pokemon Pan, come on Pokemon noodles!
- I know someone said Byron's voice is someone from One Piece, but did he also voice someone in Death Note? I think he sounds a *little* similar to Ryuk
- lol Team Rocket are stabbing the world
- His digging thing reminds me of Sideshow Bob's thing with getting hit by rack's
- Now the original GSC Trainer Battle Theme XD
- Ouch, stones in the stomach must hurt
- Also a remix of the GSC Team Rocket Encounter Theme?
- This time Team Rocket got blasted off...by the wind!? WTF has to be one of the stupidest blast offs
- I *love* ths music when there's a flashback to little Roark, what is it!? Gotta get this clip. Sounds like a movie one? Dr Ookido person!! XD

- CAN'T wait for movie 11, the DVD comes out tomorrow right? Which means hopefully it'll be uploaded a few days after?

- Howcome in the advert they say "Pokemon getto" what does the "da ze" mean when Satoshi says it?
- Buizel AGAIN?

To me this is an average episode, but it is nice to see some more character development of the gym leaders.

I guess Sinnoh's gym leaders don't wanna battle Ash - his challenge is denied again. XD

Byron's voice is really different that what I guessed as well. O_o

Roark: "He left just like that."
Brock: "Sounds like my dad." XD

The Rampardos VS Bastiodon battle is WOW! :O

Meowth: "Sorry for intruding no nya~" <3

Byron: "I love that hole!!", "Whoever dug this hole is not a bad guy!" XDDD

From the preview, I have never expected to say this but... Gliscor looks SOOO COOL in next episode's preview! Go Gliscor~! <3 Everyone's cheering for you! \(^_^)/

I can see that buizel is a little overused now...but honestly it is a massive powerhouse on Ash's team and you have to expect that we'll see it a lot...

Music was *great* this episode

That was the first thing I noticed, indeed. It was awesome. :D

• ooooh, hello heated rivalry.
• I liked this episode much more than other people.
• Seeing Gym Leaders clash it out is too awesome for me.
• Loved the extra development for them too.
• Rampardos vs. Bastiodon was awesome. (Attack vs. Defense? Classic)
• WHY?!
• Team Rocket really ruined that battle. >_>
• Japanese Trading Card Commercial was sweet.
• Ahaha, that hole. XD
• Rampardos is too cool for school, remind me to use it in Platinum.
• Is anyone else getting tired of the Rocket explanation of electric-type attack resistance/immunity machines? Can't we just assume it? ;___;
• GIVE SATOSHI A FOSSIL POCKET MONSTER! ;_; 'kay, no, fine. D:
• This makes me want to go digging in Diamond again, too bad about my DS breaking.

On the Buizel topic, well remember, this is Sinnoh after all and it's full of Gym Leaders that can't stand water-type Pocket Monsters. (Although Buizel has duked it out in gyms that aren't weak and or resist) It's only type advantageous to use Buizel in this match. Although I HOPE Buizel won't be Ash's trump card vs. Candace or Volkner. They won't let him perform like he can vs. Ground / Rock.

-Hey, it's the guy with the nightmare problem in DP104! He looks so... energetic!
-Byron didn't sound like the old guy I expected. He has a son already, dear gosh...

-Father-to-son eye-to-eye is very amusing. Brock looked obviously worried.

-Byron boasted about his fossils... be prepared, Byron, you'll lose them soon...
-OH NOES, ROARK'S NERDY FLASH!!!
-But the two don't even look alike... I suddenly wonder how Byron got a son like this... (attachment image 1)

-What did Hyouta find? What was the name? Is it a fossil? It bears resemblance to an Armor Fossil.
-The make-up scene was touching... But that didn't totally bring me to tears.

-And now to think of it, Staravia isn't used in the previous ones too...
-Chimchar is fine for me, as I can predict that he will lose, despite the type-advantage.

Now that reminds me, this is the longest review I have ever done... :)

"Da ze" is some kind of word used behind Ash's sentence, like May's "kamo".

As with what was said multiple times in this thread, I agree that Buizel is pretty damned overused, and I don't enjoy that 'cause Buizel is kind of a boring battler (attacks are a bit boring), IMO. Hikozaru isn't that overused though, particularly in Gym battles.

I *love* ths music when there's a flashback to little Roark, what is it!? Gotta get this clip. Sounds like a movie one? Dr Ookido person!! XD

XD I have yet to watch the episode, haha. But I did check out that scene, is it near the end? The dialogue kinda drowned it out a bit, but it was still playing after the flashback, right? Dunno if I've heard it before and forgot, probably from one of the movies though as you said. I'll probably check on it as well as the episode later.

When Satoshi says it, he basically just says "I'll get Pokémon," I don't think it means much.

Been waiting for this episode for a while, 2 Gym Leaders battling each other... And they didn't even finish the battle!¬_¬

Also, the music was brilliant in the episode, really hope they keep most in the dub...
