Maxie was seething. She rubbed her throat in irritation, and Fang licked his wing tip cautiously. Maxie didn't want to listen to Mika, but she clenched her teeth and beared it, though; right up until Mika said those words.
"he's been in that lab his whole life..."
Her head snapped up suddenly.
"He's a lab rat?" she glanced in the direction of the lift, suddenly sympathetic. "Poor kid," she said to Fang, "at least we had each other."
{Maybe apologise to him, he's probably frightened to death of-} he broke off. Mika had strolled off to the lift.

"I was never that frightened-" Maxie began, grumbling. Fang cut across her with a screeching laugh.
{No, you were too stupid to be frightend,} he said with a chuckle. {Now hurry up, they're leaving.} With a groan, Maxie grabbed Fang around the feet and trudged off into the lift.

Once inside, Maxie made an effort not to look at Sem too harshly.
Then, after much internal debate-
"Sorry. Didn't mean to snap."
Then she turned around and stared at her shoes.

There were few situations in which Sem felt fully comfortable, and needless to say, being crammed up into an elevator with a rather larger group of people he had just met wasn't one of them. The way he saw it, boxed in between four people as he was, there were only two good things about the current situation, the first was that Kaiyo still hadn't ordered him to let go of her arm, and the second was that Mika had dragged the scary girl far away from him.

Well, at least Sem thought that the scary girl was far away from him until he noticed that she was, in fact, right in front of him. The boy could already feel the panic building up inside him as Maxie opened her mouth to speak, only to...apologize? The boy didn't quite know what to say, of course he knew that the apology was genuine, the emotions around Maxie had told him that much, but he couldn't just say 'It's okay' now, could he? At least not without knowing how Kaiyo would respond. She was the one who had been looking out for him more than any of them, and he certainly didn't want to get into an argument with her.

Fortunately, Maxie didn't seem to expect a response either, trudging a bit away from him and suddenly seeming to become very interested in her own shoes, so Sem decided not to rush things and just waited for a while, trying to sort out the thoughts in his head.

OOC: Urgh...I just can't seem to think straight (Barely managed to string this post together), it's either sleep deprivation or me coming down with something, and because I slept til' 11 AM today I'm betting on the latter. This being the case, there probably won't be any posts from me in Showgan or AD today Charon and Mika. Just as a heads up. Right, going to lie down now...Alter out. ~_~

Blue stood in the elevator, his rapidly beating heart slowly returning to it's normal pace. The elevator was a decent size, but there had to be at least seven or eight people on it, so even though he had plenty of room, he still felt rather cramped. His hand felt nervously at his belt, his fingers slowly and instinctively wrapping themselves around Scyther's pokeball. He stared at Maxie, an eyebrow raising unconsciously. There was something about her, just like there was something about Mika. Something he himself didn't quite understand.

Lash felt it too. He eyed the Crobat uncertainly, looking both him and the girl up and down veery carefully. <Something about those two..> he started to whisper to Blue, but the boy responded with a swift nudge to the side, and the Pokemon quickly grew silent, and looked away from the two. Instead, his eyes meandered across the elevator the the other guy that sorta gave him a wierd vibe; Sem.

The boy had his arm firmly clutched around Sabrina's daughter's (Lash couldn't recall the name at that moment.) arm. The girl seemed not to mind, and Lash chuckled to himself. <Cute..> he thought. <But is cute what we want in a team like this?> he shrugged. <Well, I guess whatever floats your boat. I hope he'll be stable enough to let go of her ar when the time comes.> However, he put it out of his mind, content that it would eventually remedy itself, and busied himself counting the dots on the ceiling.

Deafeh dearest, this is your cue. ^~ To the other RPers: Deafeh is sharing my usage of the NPC Kain. <3

I apologize for the deadness. Room's cold as hell due to a faulty window we can't get replaced for a week.

Joy.

I'll post as best I can at school. ><

Her head was pounding. It took all of the emerald's strength to keep herself upright and not doubled over. She was heading down to Kain's lab, to pick up her final member and she knew if he saw her like this... he'd prod. And she didn't need it infront of her crew, not when so many other executives thought Giovanni's Prized Pet was nothing more than a pet; undeserving of a team. With Maxie on her squad, she had to work even harder to gain team equality and more importantly, trust. She had no clue what Maxie would say or do and the stress from the thoughts now pilling into her brain was giving her a massive migriane.

"Nyuu..." she mumbled, giving herself a quick forehead rub before the doors opened. Ushering her team outside, she directed them towards a small lounge, "All of you wait there, I'll be just a moment."

Not waiting for them to comply, she wandered down the hallway and slid her card into the designated reader, tapping her foot impatiently as the door clicked open. Stepping into the room she'd just opened, she looked around silently. It was a dreary attempt at something near normal; a couple of couchs, a rug or two, a chair, a table, a lamp. It could be determined as a waiting room but although it was desgined to be more of a corporate waiting room, the scents and drabby colors made it feel like a hospital waiting room; one where you would wait for news on your family member's operation or something.

It was on the table that she spotted her objective. Stepping over to it, the metal on the back of her glove clinked against the table as she picked up the small note left for her. Before she could even read it however, a voice filled the quiet room, echoing through the room in an ear-piercing mannor. "You're about three weeks late for that last appointment Mika"

She turned on her heels, her shoulders tightening back squarely, "Kain?" But nobody was there. The room was still empty.

"Do you have any idea how much trouble you've gotten me into? How did you sneak into Rei's room without tripping the alarms or more importantly, without alerting the four guards outside his room? That's the third time you've pulled such a scandal and I have to say, I lack any sense of pride in your achievements. Do I need to take this to the attention of the President for you to stop this childish behavior?" Infuriated by the comments, Mika couldn't control the narrowing of her eyes nor could she prevent her words from sounding more hisslike than wordlike, "Show yourself you coward!"

"Aww, isn't that adorable. Hissing out such battle-worthy words at me, the man in the speakers. Well, if you trully want to see me, come through the door to your right, I've opened it just for you." When the sarcasm-coated voice had finally stopped its gabbering, Mika all but kicked down the before-stated door, swallowing her anger in gallons as she stepped into the room, per her directions.

"Now, step forward five steps without looking back at me." The voice was no longer echoing nor was it in any form joking and Mika reluctantly complied. "See the chair to your left? Sit in it and wait for me to get back with the boy." Moving robotically, she sat down on the chair with a thud, legs crossing. This was not going to go well...

Thank you all for being so patient <333

-/ooc-

And within a matter of minutes, the door on the opposite side of the room opened and a very annoyed looking Kain moved into the room slowly, his gaze fixing on the girl in the chair as his eyes narrowed lightly.
"Really Mika. I can't believe you. Getting me into all this mess and for what? A few lousy appointments I thought you were supposed to be one of our finest, not one of the wimps that call themselves a rocket just for the outfit. Honestly woman what's the matter with you?"

But the little voice in the back of his head telling him what he was really supposed to be doing was nagging at him again, and with an exasperated grunt the male sat on the table, staring over at Mika quietly for a long moment.
"I honestly don't even believe you're ready for the kind of challenge the child will be. In my eyes you aren't worthy," Another long sigh and the male slowly got up again, "But I guess that's not for me to decide now is it?" A wry smile spread across his face and he moved back to the door, "I just hope that you're up for the kind of responsibility that's just been thrown at you."

And within a moment the door was pulled open lightly and Kain pulled a small boy in by the wrist, guiding him into the room and around the table until he stood behind him with the boy before Mika. He was dressed in a simple white shirt and a pair of torn jeans, that hung off his little hips with the tell tale signs of being much too big for him. But the lab couldn't help that, he was one of the smallest they'd had in a long time and fitting clothes were in short supply and generally unneeded. His hair was a soft bluish silver, the strands straight but slightly mussed up as it seemed the child had been woken in a hurry. His body was small, even for his age and his face showed a few scars, the rest hidden beneath the circus tent shirt that the lab had put him in.
And around his waist was a little belt, with only two pokeballs in the holders, all the child had, and he occasionally reached down to touch one lightly, seeming to draw some sort of comfort from them. But it was the boy's eyes that were his most notable feature, they were at one time a soft, pale blue but they were now covered with a cloudy grey film, an obvious sign of the boy's disability. It seemed that just from glancing you could tell that he was completely blind.

"This is the next addition to your team." Kain muttered out bluntly, "His name is Yoh. A little about Yoh, the kid's ten years old, he's been with us for four of those ten years, he's blind, he's extremely sensitive emotionally as well as highly unstable. Make him keep his pokemon. In. Their. Pokeballs. He will whine about that, he will cry about that. But they are far to big to be let out and if he breaks again… well trust me Mika you don't want that to happen."

And throughout the entire little speech the boy was standing quietly in front of Kain, though it was obvious by his ridged posture and the fact that he twitched whenever he was bumped or brushed by the man behind him that he was really very nervous. The child's face was cast downwards and he let out a soft sigh as he listened to the man behind him speak.
And when Kain had finished, he nudged the boy forward with a knee and Yoh let out a small squeak, for a moment shooting a rather cold glare over his shoulder in the older man's general direction. But Yoh got over it after a short moment and turned, bowing lightly, "Hello Miss.. miss.. ah.." He got a swift and rather unkind nudge to the back, "Mika! Miss Mika. My name i-"

"Oh cool it boy I already did all that for you." Kain grunted out softly, his eyes narrowing in frustration before he let out a sigh, "Well alright then Mika. This is the kid you get. And let me tell you, for a very long time he's going to be a very big handful for you and your entire team. For a while I suggest you keep him around you, or one person solely, that way he can at least trust somebody."

"As for you bo-" Kain had to cut himself off, blinking slightly when he noticed the child was no longer in front of him, but rather had scampered forward and stuck himself to Mika's leg.

"Hn. Well anyways if you have any problems contact me immediately we don't need another episode from that kid like we got last month. And as for learning everything we know about him." Kain moved forward, handing Mika the file that had been placed next to him on the table, "I suggest you read all of that. Now get out of here and quite wasting my time. Oh. And if you ever skip another one of your appointments. I will not hesitate to hunt you down and drag you down here myself. And trust me, that will only make things all the more unpleasant." The man hissed out softly, his eyes narrowed.
But then Kain simply turned, leaving promptly through the back door.

The boy then turned slightly, his arms still wrapped tightly around one of Mika's thighs as he tilted his head up towards the woman, those fogged over gray-blue eyes having for a moment a thoughtful look to them.
"Y-you.. you're… nice … right?" The child croaked out softly after a long moment, his head still angled upwards a bit.

Mika rolled her eyes every chance she got from Kain's rambling yet her intrest perked when he mentioned "the boy" and when that innocent little blue eyed angel attached to her leg, all thoughts as to what Kain was saying, and as to whether it was important or not, were forgotten as she gently leaned down, petting the boy's mop of a hairdo lightly before the file was all but thrust in her face.

Taking the CD, she slipped it into her pocket, tuning her brain over to the "Kain's-Rambling-AGAIN" Channel just in time to hear the final words of his broadcast: "-and if you ever skip another one of your appointments. I will not hesitate to hunt you down and drag you down here myself. And trust me, that will only make things all the more unpleasant."

It took the rest of the girl's will power to resist letting anything show until Kain left the room and she simply let out a large shakey sigh, letting her body tremble like it wanted to for a few moments before she pulled herself back into the model executive and looked down into those adorable little eyes, "Yes." She gently lifted him up by the arm pits, settling him onto her hip, "You must be awfully scared so you can ride up with me, okay?" She hesitiantly nudged his head onto her shoulder, "Just relax, you looked really scared when that guy dragged you in here."

Walking down the hall, she didn't try to start up any real conversations, just letting him settle as she could feel him shaking lightly. She stopped however, when a swarm of magnemite darted into the four-way intersection of hallways and sat in the middle, unmoving, "Oh jeez... what a pain..." Shifting the boy's weight, she reached for a pokeball on her own belt.

OOC: Mika, I'm confused. Are we all with you at the time? Or are we just kinda left behind? Or what's the deal?

The boy lifted his head a wee bit more, before he let out a soft squeak and jerked back slightly at her initial touch. Her emotions were mixed, he could feel it. On one side the girl was scared.. scared… weak? And on another mean? Feared? But yet… there was something else. And to be completely truthful it didn't make an amazing first impression in the child.
But when Mika settled and her emotions became clearer to the boy, he allowed himself to be picked up, settling against the warmth of an adult, instant comfort for almost any child, even this one.

"Not.. not scared. Nervous maybe… but not scared, not anymore." The boy replied softly to the woman's words, letting out a little sigh as he rested his cheek against her shoulder, "You were though. Why?" He asked out quietly, curious like any child would be.

But when they stopped the child lifted his head a bit, "What's the matter?" His head turned the direction in which Mika had been walking and he tilted it just a bit before a very familiar, and comforting sensation hit him. It was a soft, warm hum that soothed his nerves much like a mother's voice would to a nightmare-prone infant. And it was all thanks to the magnemite that had just made their home in the middle of the hallway.
The lab had plenty of them, hundreds even to keep the power running and Yoh had grown quite fond of holding them and most of the times they would sit happily in the embrace, just as comforted by the boy as he was by them.

But oh, there was an even more familiar hum amidst the little herd, for Yoh had one favorite, one special magnemite that he loved especially to hold. And suddenly he squeaked quite loudly, holding his arms out and wriggling to be let down, "Down! Down!"
And once he'd squirmed himself free he scampered to the pile, the little flock of metal scattering with chirrups and buzzes as Yoh singled out his favorite and started up a game of chase with the happy little pokemon as it buzzed idly just ahead of him until Yoh could reach out and bring the warmth to his chest, cooing happily.
And then the child trotted happily back to Mika, the little magnemite still held to his chest like a child his age would hold a teddy bear, "Okay. We can go now." He blinked, shuffling a bit.

{ooc| Taking some liberty w/ this post...}

Maxie shrugged at the others at Mika's orders.
"To the lounge it is, then," she said in a bored drawl. She did what she was told and entered the room, which was small, painted neautral colours and scarely furnished. There was a long, narrow sofa and a pair of armchairs; Maxie proceded to throw herself into the largest, where she wriggled and writhed like a cat until she was what she deemed comfortable; her legs flung over one of he arms, her back resting on the other. Fang fluttered over and perched on her knee, where he proceeded to whisper to her in a quiet hiss. He doubted anyone could speak crobat - it was such a rare tongue - but Fang didn't like risks, no matter so small. He didn't want to be overheard.

When he had finished, Maxie nodded. Then, after a moment of thought, she turned to the girl Sem clung to. Maxie had the feeling her name was Kaiyo... Maxie cleared her throat. "You. Are you...?" she left the question hanging. She had the sneaking feeling this stranger was psycic, but Maxie felt it would be too rude to ask outright.

Fang glanced around, spotting a sandlash a little to his left. His owner was a boy Maxie had yet to speak to, but he looked a lot tougher than the others. The sandslash looked competant, anyway.
{You done this sort of thing before?} Fang asked, for no reason other than to break the silence between the pokemon.

OOC: Charon, I think you're talking to me, because nobody has a Sandslash, and I think I'm the only one with a Pokemon out. It's actually a Sneasel, but no sweat. ^^;

If I'm wrong, let me know, and I'll edit accordingly.

IC: Blue, through the rest of the elevator ride, remained silent, cast deep in thought. As he stood, strong and tall, he rubbed his eyes tiredly. Leaning down to nudge Lash, he whispered to the Sneasel. "If anyone messes with you, don't make trouble. That's the last thing we need right now." he hastily whispered, and the Pokemon nodded gravely in agreement.

Although he was aware of what Blue was saying to him, the Sneasel stared at the Crobat, praying that the evil looking thing wouldn't lock eyes with him. He eventually managed to break his gaze, and before he knew it, the entire lot of them was shuffling out of the elevator.

They walked down one hall, and up another, and finally Mika had them stopped in front of a plain, unmarked door. She sighed, head in hands, and opened the door. "All of you wait here." she grumbled, and Lash and Blue made their way in.

The room wasn't much better than the elevator. Not so much as cramped as.. compact, but still, it bothered the two friends to be in such claustrophobic enviornments. As the group filed in and made themselves more or less comfortable, Blue kept one eye on the girl.. what was her name? The one with the crobat..? While keeping wary of the girl, he leaned casually against a wall. There were two large armchairs, and he placed himself against the wall behind one of the two. 'Lo and behold, who should leap onto the chair, but the girl. She clambored onto the chair, and curled up a lot like a cat, before coming to rest. Her crobat sat with her, somewhat protectively, as Blue watched it's eyes.

Eventually, Blue's curiosity got the best of him, and he approached the back of the armchair. Leaning over it, and looking nearly upside down at the girl, he spoke quietly, trying not to scare her. "Hi." he began lamely. "I'm Blue.. you are?"

At around the same time, the Crobat turned to Lash. <You done this sort of thing before?> it said, a somewhat awkward tone evident to the expeienced Sneasel. In response, Lash shrugged, and replied casually. <Not really. I mean..> he began, but figured it a good idea to stop before he began to ramble. He remembered Blue's words clearly, and didn't want to make any trouble with this apparantly unstable fellow.

"You were scared though. Why?"

The child's words struck a cord Mika hadn't played in awhile and she had stopped for a moment to ponder what the little boy had said before she had continued, lost now in her thoughts until they reached the magnamite and the boy squiggled free, snagging his precious little pet before he returned to sort of reattach to her. Nodding in a numb daze, she picked the child back up, magnamite in tow and with a mumble that she'd help him tag the magnamite later, walked on down the hallway

Did it show that much? If it did, I'm sure Kain saw it…. くす(kuuso)… Cursing herself more repeatedly, she managed to get back to the designaited room in one piece and sat down in the big floofy chair by the window, Yoh settled into her lap, "Alright. Listen up." Snapping on the hardcore leader face, she tapped a button under the table, causing a hologram of some sort of building to shoot up from the middle of the table, "This is the Kanto Branch of the School for Educationally Gifted Pokemon Trainers. Our Intel says that there are G-Men Recruiters all throughout the building, posing as students, to try and build up their forces. Somewhere on campus is an informant who's gone completely AWOL for reasons we believe to be related to the G-Men Recruiters." Her eyes darkened lightly as the screen darkened slightly, "There is a small chance the agent did not go into AWOL mode to prevent detection by G-Men Forces. There is a small chance… he or she converted to their forces. This is the basis of our mission. Posing as students in the school, we will be trying to find out the whereabouts of the informant, whether they be good or bad, and attempt to, if he or she is still on the campus, bring him or her back alive. Maimed is perfectly acceptable." The hologram snapped to a basic picture of two student models, one male, one female, "While at the school, you will take classes of some sort. We're not going to draw unwanted attention and sneaking around won't get us the information we need. Those over 16 will attend the high school wing, those under 16 but over 12 will attend classes in the middle school department and anyone under 12, which I think is just Yoh, will attend the elementary wing. Before you all start groaning about school, just be thankful they have no uniform."

Clapping her hands, the hologram faded into nothingness and the lights turned back on. Standing, Yoh in toe, she directed a hand towards the elevator, "After we all get back up, you've got an hour to do whatever the hell you want. I'll have the PA ladies page you when our bus, yes a bus, is ready to go. Make sure you have anything you think you might need, the store's on level six, the poke center's on level B3 which is three above here." She snapped her arm to the side, "Dismissed!"

And then she sat back down to wait. She couldn't leave til they all did.

Yoh was quite happy snuggling his little pet until Mika sat down and started to speak again. And it was at that moment that he realized there were quite a few people in that room. The boy froze up a bit, his expression becoming quite nervous as he tilted his head a bit, following the direction of Mika's voice as he tried to pick up the locations of those around him.
But as he did, the emotions swarmed over him horridly and it caused the boy to let out a soft whimper as he clung tighter to the little magnet ball in his lap, the pokemon tilting up towards him and giving the child an almost worried nudge.

And it took a long few minutes, he had to focus on Mika's voice and he finally calmed down.
Wait… had she said school?

"W-what… what's school?" The boy mumbled out quite softly, tensing up a bit when he was suddenly lifted from the seat as Mika stood.
And it was a perfectly relevant question the boy asked, he honestly didn't know. You don't learn much when you're dumped out in the woods only to then live in a lab all your life.

But he could almost feel the stares on his back he knew he was getting, and one hand moved to squeeze one of the pokeballs on the little belt around his waist.
But he did then just about what any nervous or embarrassed child would do, bury his head in Mika's chest and whimper softly for reassurance that he wasn't doing something completely horrible.

dear pplz, Chibi is not dead. She's just...braindead and was on vacation for awhile. Sorry she didn't say so earlier x.x;; Post pending...

Heey guys. I'm real sorry to do this to you all but tomorrow I'm leaving to go to Mississippi and will be gone until Dec. 31st. So don't you all wait up for me. I can catch up when I return. I already feel bad enough for causing big slowdowns ;; We're just recovering from huge windstorms up in Washington though and we were without power for four days and my computer's been fritzy ever since. But a week's off-ness should do it good.
So.

WELL NO MORE

>> I'll give the stragglers a week or so to post AS the story is moving along. For the time being, those inactive (Lily, Chibi and Clow) are going to be dragged around as little drones until they start posting because I worked on this plot for 3 months and because I was too afraid to post in the discussion forum, (Long story and I'm going to blame it on Charon.) I was limitied to friends at school who loathe the existance of the yellow mouse to correct and help me improve it and improve it they did.

That being said, enough is enough.

We're moving on. Inactive, you can become un-inactive by making two really good posts in a week. ^~ because I still love you.

New years makes me a bit of a witch. If you have a good reason to be gone, enlighten me and I'll pardon you.

Anyways, onto the main post.

-IC-

That night was unbarebly long. Due to a heavy snow fall in Lavender, the plane system had been nerfed to the point of no return all across the Kanto region, pushing the flight into the later part of the following week, meaning Mika and her team would be stuck in the open wing on the left side of the campus with the other grunts til they could actually leave and then at the very last moment, she was told a bus would show up sometime around dinner and this meant Mika had to actually do some nasty work she really didn't want to do, which included searching all over the bloody building complex for the lost baggage of her teammates and once she found that she had to go looking for rooms for them and then had to decide who was sleeping with who on the campus itself.

She soon decided on a simple arrangement. Kaiyo, Sayuri and Charon would sleep in one room, Blue and Will would be in the room across from the girls and Sem would get the small bedroom adjacent to Mika's own, which would be shared with Yoh per Kain's orders. She didn't feel comfortable throwing the poor boy to the 'wolves' of her team and yet she didn't want to fully isolate him so, in her mind, this arrangement would probably be best for him.

It was then that she sent them their various ways, allowing them free reign of the wing before she simply retired to the wing after dinner, the child in her arms still clutching the magnetite as the events of the day simply lulled him to sleep. Chuckling, she settled him into the small make-shift bed in the corner and soon went to sleep herself, exhausted from not only the introduction of such a large team but also from the events before it happened.

Then of course, like in any situation were Mika truly didn't want or need a nightmare, one just had to emerge from the shadows.

~ * ~

"Hu-hun are you alright?" The foggy face gently lingered above her, the girl's blue hair gently framing her pale-skinned face, slipping onto her shoulders, "You look awful…" a smooth hand reached down, gently gracing her forehead, its coolness dripping all over her throbbing head

"Wh-wha…?"

"Shh… you're burning up, here… That's it, take it easy… I won't hurt you." The girl gently slipped an arm under the girl's own, looping it up onto her shoulder and gently helped her up onto her feet, "That's it…"

"Who-who are you?"

"Luna… my name's Luna." She smiled lightly, "You might say I rule over Alarayne. Are you strong enough to tell me your own name?"

"Y-yeah… It…it's Mika…"

"Mika… that means New Moon or Little Flower, right? It's a cute name. I hope… I hope we can be friends."

~ * ~

Mika woke with such a start that she threw her pillow halfway across the room, her bed soaked in sweat from the short but apparently still terrifying dream. Rubbing her forehead, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and tiptoed across the floor to her own suitcase, pulling out a simple pair of sweats and a tank top and changed in the darkness of it all.

Tugging on a Rocket-endorsed sweatshirt, she gently slipped into a pair of sandals and walked silently through the halls to the small observatory deck, only creaking a few boards in the process.

Staring out at the moon, she tried to get a gain on her thoughts, mumbling quietly to the moon, "Why was I thinking about her? Is it because Maxie's here…? Those memories… maybe I should've let Kain suppress them…" Shaking her head at apparent inability to really think, she lifted her eyes to the heavens, staring up at the moon way up beyond the sky, she couldn't help but think back to the first few weeks on that island. Before she'd been told to start her mission, she'd befriended the two trainers, won their trust only to destroy it that day so many years ago. "Mr. Moon…Was…was I stupid then? By following that order… I lost…" In her mind, she quietly finished her sentence I lost my first two friends…

OOC: Sorry this took so long. Where IS everyone? O_o Guess it's you and me, Mika.

IC: Not getting a response quite as quickly as he had hoped, he gave up trying to talk to the strange girl, and leaned back against the wall as Mika walked in, with a small boy whom Blue had never seen. He was small, it seemed, and timid; even more so than Sem. To Blue's great surprise, however, the child, who must have been 9 or 10, settled into Mika's lap, much as if the boy was her own child. This is odd. mused Blue. There are a lot of people on this team who might be considered less than.. mature? Blue tasted the word for a second. Well, maybe that isn't the right word for it. I guess it'd be something like - but his thoughts were interrupted by a sharp voice calling out.

"Alright, listen up." Mika's voice rang out above the small talk, and everything became very quiet. The lights dimmed, and from the table in the center of the room a hologram erupted, showing a sort of complex. Lash's eyes brightened.

<Alright, NOW we get to see some action. This is probably a top secret military base, or maybe the G-Men's hideout, or maybe..> the sneasel's mind went wild, thinking of all the amazing enterprises that could be brought out from the hologram of this building.

"This is the Kanto Branch of the School for Educationally Gifted Pokemon Trainers." Mika continued. Lash's jaw nearly dropped, and the wild look in his eyes turned to mush, as the sneasel's little heart melted.

<A school?! Of all places to be espionage artists..> he spat quietly, hoping in retrospect that Mika didn't hear him. Mika continued.

"Our Intel says that there are G-Men Recruiters all throughout the building, posing as students, to try and build up their forces. Somewhere on campus is an informant who's gone completely AWOL for reasons we believe to be related to the G-Men Recruiters." Lash shrugged, his heart a tiny bit healed.

<This won't be too bad.> Mika's tone darkened considerably, and Lash's ears perked up, eager to hear this bit of drama.

"There is a small chance the agent did not go into AWOL mode to prevent detection by G-Men Forces. There is a small chance… he or she converted to their forces. This is the basis of our mission. Posing as students in the school, we will be trying to find out the whereabouts of the informant, whether they be good or bad, and attempt to, if he or she is still on the campus, bring him or her back alive. Maimed is perfectly acceptable." Lash grinned almost malevolently, staring lovingly at his claws.

<Oh, that can be arranged..> he smiled to himself. <This won't be so bad. We'll just go in, whip some ass, and get out of there. It's not like we'll be in classes or anything.. Blue already finished school, so...>

The hologram suddenly changed, now depicting a boy and a girl. An icy hand gripped Lash's heart.

"While at the school, you will take classes of some sort. We're not going to draw unwanted attention and sneaking around won't get us the information we need." Lash almost sunk to the floor in misery.

<Classes?! Classes!? Anything.. but classes..> Promptly kicking Lash softly to get him up, Blue continued to listen intently.

"Those over 16 will attend the high school wing, those under 16 but over 12 will attend classes in the middle school department and anyone under 12, which I think is just Yoh, will attend the elementary wing. Before you all start groaning about school, just be thankful they have no uniform." Lash scoffed.

<Yeah. Thanks, fate.>

As Mika clapped her hands briskly, the hologram faded out, and the lights faded in.

"After we all get back up, you've got an hour to do whatever the hell you want. I'll have the PA ladies page you when our bus, yes a bus, is ready to go. Make sure you have anything you think you might need, the store's on level six, the poke center's on level B3 which is three above here." Mika said, and snapped her arm to the side, "Dismissed!"

The hour came and went. Blue barely had enough time to get his pokemon through the pokemon center before a nasally voice crackled through the PA.

"Team Drache, your transportation has arrived.." And at that, Blue was whisked away to the bus.

Lash safely tucked away in his pokeball, Blue clambored onto the bus, his bag of clothes and other such belongings safely hanging from his shoulder. He sat down on one of the seats, and within minutes was asleep.

<Who knows what's going to happen? Better get your sleep in now.. just in case.> Lash had said before retreating to his Pokeball. Blue heeded these words well, and as the rumble of the bus gently massaged his head, Blue dozed off to sleep, earbud headphones lightly tucked into his ears, his hair tenderly covering part of his face.

When he came to, the bus had come to a complete stop, and nearly everyone was off. Blue stood up hastily, not wanting to be left behind. Tearing the headphones out of his ears and shoving them in a pocket, he ran outside, catching up with the group. It was almost by the time they actually made it to the school.

"Almost six o' clock." he mumbled to himself, checking his Pokegear.

With few incidents, everyone managed to get their rooms okay. Blue had been assigned a room with that guy... what was his name? Bill? Whatever his name was, Blue was stuck in a room with him for who knows how long they'd be here. Truly, Blue didn't like the idea of being back in school, especially during this snowy weather..

<But hey. It's not like we've got anything else better to do.> Lash reminded him. They were sitting at dinner. Blue had let his larger pokemon out into the back area. Since it was a school for pokemon, they had a bunch of convenient services for Pokemon. Poke-food vending machines, and even little Pokebathrooms. Blue found some of this unneccessary, and Lash found it insulting, but they could both agree on one thing - it wasn't too shabby. Blue, Lash, and Spoink sat and ate together in silence. Blue had a sinking feeling that this wasn't going to be a particularly friendly experience. The other boys weren't exactly.. sociable. To add to that, the girls, Mika included, were practically falling over the younger boys.

"Looks like we might be in this pretty solitarily, boys." whispered Blue to his 2 small friends, and they both agreed solemnly.

The three friends ate slowly, being almost the last ones to leave. By the time he had collected all of his pokemon, made it back to his room, unpacked, and showered, it was nearly 10 o' clock. Blue clambored into bed, his pokemon all safe in their balls, turned out the light, and uneasily fell asleep.

Blue did not sleep well. The nap on the bus had kept him energized, and made it tough to sleep. He found himself waking up several times in the middle of the night, unable to go back to sleep. Finally, unable to stand it any longer, Blue got out of bed, threw on a T-shirt and a pair of jeans, and slipped out of the room, leaving Will fast asleep.

The night was very chilly, and Blue found himself wishing he had put on something a tad heavier. Nevertheless, he wandered the hallways, thinking deeply about just about everything he could think of. Just when he thought himself about ready to attempt some sleep for the ump-tillionth time, he stopped at his door, listening very hard. Somebody was walking. Very quietly. Perhaps.. too quietly? Suddenly, Blue's imagination took hold. A traitorous scumbag, just walking about, unsuspecting, when suddenly.. *POP!* Revenge!

Taking care to not make any noise, he snuck around the corner, peeking around it, hoping to find the person he was looking for.

"..Jackpot." he snickered, the figure walking down the hallway towards the deck. Blue was preparing to dash out, when the woman stepped outside, and Blue immediately abandoned his plans for attack. Long emerald green hair that couldn't be seen in the dark was suddenly illuminated in the moonlight, and Blue immediately knew the identity of his suspect.

Mika stepped outside, fairly upset, from what Blue could see at that distance. As she stared into the sky, Blue contemplated approaching her. Depending on what kind of person she was, that could either be taken as an act of kindness, or an intrusion of privacy. Blue shot the line, and went for broke, walking down the hallway towards the leader of his team, his heart pounding.

This had better not backfire.. he thought to himself, as he stepped into the pale moonlight. It's not like he just wanted to talk or anything.. he just wanted to make sure she was okay.. right? Even still, he was nervous. Taking a shaky breath, he called softly.

"Lady Mika..?"

As his words came out, he nearly winced, wishing he could just disappear and have it never happen. He seriously considered dashing away at that moment before she could see him, but his legs wouldn't move.

This might be the end of your career with Team Drache, buddy. he thought to himself, as he waited for the inevitable.

"Lady Mika?"

She turned sharply in suprise at the other's voice, glistening tears sprinkling across the wooden panals of the observatory deck. Harshly rubbing her eyes, she looked towards him with a light smile, "Call me Mika, okay...Blue?" she hesitaited with his name, almost certian he wasn't Blue, maybe Will, and she'd just commited some horrible awful crime, "I don't like being called Lady, Miss, Sensei, Sempai anything like that... I'm a leader... but I kinda also want to be something of a friend." Crossing her arms across her chest in a hugging-like position, she quizically looked him over, "You're not... really dressed for the weather. Can't sleep I'm guessing?"

OOC: Gewd.

IC:

"Call me Mika, okay...Blue?"

Slightly taken aback by her friendly demeanor, he stumbled over his words for a second.

"Oh, uh.. I.. uh.. sorry, L- I mean, Mika." he mumbled, looking down.

"I don't like being called Lady, Miss, Sensei, Sempai anything like that... I'm a leader... but I kinda also want to be something of a friend." she continued, and Blue felt worse by the second.

"You're not... really dressed for the weather. Can't sleep I'm guessing?" she continued, looking him over.

He smiled a little at her last comment. "Oh, it isn't that cold.. " But looking up again, more seriously, continued. "I didn't mean to bug you. I was sort of.. up and about, and I heard someone walking.. well, kinda saw more than heard.. but.." he stopped for a second, closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and started again.

"Sorry. I was up and about, and saw.. or heard someone moving around, and wanted to see who it was." Tilting his head to the side slightly, he gave Mika a puzzled look.

"Hey.." he took a small step forward, noticing distinctly the shine of tears out of her eyes. "Are you.. alright, Mika?"

'What...good am I?'

For what felt like the hundreth time of the night, Sem turned in his bed, sighing in forfeit as he turned his eyes to the ceiling, not that he could see it in the dark. Somewhere to his right, concealed by the same darkness, he could feel the presence of another person, and this other person was precisely what was keeping him awake. The moment Mika had walked in carrying that strange little boy, Sem had felt an emotion he had never known before...jealousy. He had liked the way Mika had payed special attention to him, he had really enjoyed the though that for once, for once in his life, he was valued above the rest and then this-this cripple, this pathetic, snivelling little cripple had come butting in. The boy found himself seething with anger at the mere thought, trying in vain to excorcise it with all the mental discipline techniques he had been taught. The child couldn't be blamed, he tried to tell himself, the child was probably as desperate for affection as he was, but if he made as much as a move to steal miss Kaiyo's attention from him too...Sem growled quietly. Well, then things wouldn't get pretty. He turned again, trying to catch sleep, but to no avail. Kaiyo...he'd probably be separated from his newfound friend soon anyway. The mission was...he frowned, although he wasn't sure of Kaiyo's exact age he was all too certain that they wouldn't end up in the same section, that would mean that he'd end up with...who? Yoh? As if it wasn't bad enough that he had to share a room with the little parasite. Hopefully the brat was young enough to end up on a different side...like a trainer-prodigy daycare or something.

Sem's thoughts were soon interrupted, however, as he felt a surge of sadness from nearby and then...voices? No, he reminded himself, not voices, thoughts. Surface thoughts. And not just any thoughts at that, some of them definitely belonged to...'Madame executive?'

The boy got up, still completely dressed as he really didn't have any separate clothes for sleeping, and tip-toed out of the room, making sure to shut the door behind him so as to create an extra obstacle for Yoh in the process.

Once out in the dark, desolate hallway, Sem felt a bit frightened at first but, he reminded him, he had a mission here, an important one. After a brief period of searching, Sem finally managed to localize his target. Mika was standing on the observatory deck, seemingly in discussion with...Sem squinted, not ready to leave his hiding place just yet, that was one of the other team members, wasn't it? He couldn't quite recall the name, but he did recall that it was related to colours somehow. The discussion didn't look hostile, but the boy decided to continue his vigil for a while...just in case.

OOC: Heh, the moment I saw Yoh in action I knew that he and Sem wouldn't exactly start out as bestest buddies. Can we say 'rivalry'? xD
