x3 Yes yes, I saw this coming too.

But as Deafeh will warn you, Yoh bites. o-o;

She flinched when Blue lifted his hand towards her, backing away before he connected with her face. "I-I'm fine."

Turning around in a quick recovery, she pointed up at the stars, "I couldn't sleep so I came out to look at the stars, you know? They're so pre-" She trailed off lightly as the sound of almost silent footsteps echoed in her ear, coming from the hall behind her. Kain said Yoh only woke to nightmares and the steps sounded too light to be someone as ungraceful as Will and too heavy for a girl of any sort. This left Sem and Mika wasn't suprised that the boy had woken up. First night out of the lab... I didn't sleep either. Better hide that I know he's there for now, I wouldn't want him to feel like he's done a poor job of concealing himself. Smiling lightly towards no one in particular, she finished her sentance, "Pretty. They're so pretty..."

Facing Blue's shoulder, she gently prodded it, "Okay mister Blue. Tell me a bit about yourself. Any... any siblings? Both parents still alive?"

OC: Whoawhoawhoa, when I try to write something, the plot progresses way faster than I planned x.x;I can't find a way to squeeze in here unconspicuously. Keeping up with the posts and writing a post to catch up with this is pretty difficult x.x I dunno about the other ghosts here, but this is the way I'm feeling x.x But I don't want you all just to wait on me...x.x gah.

Substitute IC: Kayio got a phone call from her mother and slipped out as quietly as possible. (Gah...*prints out pages of plot x.x*)

As Mika recoiled, Blue flinched in the same manner, a bit ashamed of himself. Recovering in the same manner that Mika did, a rather odd bit of silence filling the small patio space. Finally, Mika spoke.

"I-I'm fine." she said uneasily.

Liar. Blue thought to himself. But, hey. said another voice in his head. Can you really expect her to tell you the truth? It's none of your business.

"I couldn't sleep so I came out to look at the stars, you know? They're so pre-" began Mika, staring at the sky. She trailed off, obviously lost in thought. "Pretty. They're so pretty..." she finished, after a bit.

Unexpectedly, Blue felt a slight pressure on his shoulder. Looking up into Mika's eyes, he smiled a little.

"Okay mister Blue. Tell me a bit about yourself. Any... any siblings? Both parents still alive?" Mika said.

Blue's eyes darkened. "I'm an only child, as far as I know. I haven't seen or spoken to my parents in.. shoot.. 2 years?" he looked up into the stars. "I left home when I was 15 to study in Saffron.." he sighed. "...when I came back, the place I had lived for my whole life was up for sale, and both my parents were gone." he looked down at his shoes, on the verge of tears. "That's really.. the last I saw of them." Looking up at the stars and taking a deep breath, his would be tears receded. He turned his gaze back to Mika. "So, what about you? Tell me about yourself. How you came to such an.. interesting occupation." he grinned a bit and looked slightly towards the stars as he said this, hands thrust into his pockets. "Y'know.. they really ARE pretty.."

"Two years...? But you're kind of on speaking terms..." she mused lightly, her finger tapping her tumb as she slightly stared at the other, "Me? I haven't seen my mother in five years... my dad's a different story." Her eyes sparkled lightly in the moonlight, a mixture of emotions, mainly sadness and anger, spreading through them, "How I joined the Rockets... Hmm... Well, to be honest, I never really joined. I can't say much in detail, not til I know you aren't some sort of spy which I don't believe but you understand, but when I was four years old, my then fifteen year old brother took me from my home and brought me to Giovanni's mansion in Viridian, outside the town near the forest. He took me as his own in more ways than one." She sighed, taking a moment to decipher her thoughts, "...So I guess I never really had a choice. This is my life." Laughing lightly, she shook her head, "But I don't regret it. I remember what my father put my brother through and I wouldn't trade the year I spent-er, I wouldn't trade places. I... I do like being here. I guess I have... purpose. What about you? What was... ideal?" Catching herself before she did something stupid, she made that horrible little world lab go away just moments before it came out and distracted the boy with a question but Sem, being a lab rat himself, probably caught onto her trail and it worried her some.

Blue listened to Mika's story, and couldn't help but chuckle when she mentioned him being a spy. He wasn't sure why, but it seemed funny to him that he would spy on something that could so easily destroy him. Mika caught his attention with another question. "What about you? What was... ideal?" she queried. Blue sighed.

"Well, believe it or not, I wasn't so sure about joining the Rockets at first.. It's really just become a last resort. I got really.. depressed a couple of months ago." he shuddered, and turned away from Mika. "It was horrible." he muttered, and turned back towards the sky, leaning on the railing that overlooked the campus. "I'm sort of glad I joined now, though. It's like you said, Mika. I've got a sense of.. purpose.. of direction, you know? Like.. I have something that I need to do." Blue closed his eyes and sighed. Hanging his head down over the railing, his goggle-less hair dangling over his face, tickling his nose. Sniffing, and scratching his nose, he turned to Mika, a serious look in his eyes. "Was it.. was it really insomnia that brought you out here?" he asked, brushing some hairs out of his face, and continuing to look at Mika dead on.

Well. Not /too/ much here while I was gone :>
But I'm back now. And as exhausted as I was after waking up at four fifteen, driving an hour and a half, sitting in an airport for an hour, sitting on a plane for four and a half hours, driving to get dogs for an hour and a half and then finally driving another half hour home. I'm not going to get lazy and leave this un-replied to :3

And yes, yes Yoh bites. If someone else bites first XD
But he tries too n_n

---

Milky eyes snapped open the minute the door clicked shut and the young boy shuffled a bit in his bed until he couldn't hear Sem's footsteps outside the door any longer. And when that time finally came, Yoh's body went lax and he let out a heavy sigh. The moment he'd come into close quarters with Sem he could feel that animosity burning in the other's being and he knew exactly who it had been directed towards.
The poor child had been on edge since that very moment, that was until the anger drifted away with Sem as he left to do something, anything… which, unfortunately wasn't very often.

Needless to say Yoh was very much intimidated. He could judge emotions and powers to an extent but not size or character. Sem could easily be eight feet tall in the boy's mind. But yet… there was a sense of security far stronger than any fear of the other boy he might possess. And that security was resting in two pokeballs near his bed and the other piece of it hugged tightly to his chest, the little magnemite buzzing happily while the boy would nuzzle it close.

But at the moment the child nudged the magnemite to the pillow on the opposite side of his bed and very slowly wormed his way from the covers until his feet touched the floor. Very hesitantly now the boy crept forward, feeling around for the nightstand where he yanked up the pokeballs before continuing forward.
His hand tightened on one of the two considerably and very slowly the boy inched across the room, without incident and when he got to the door he tucked both the balls beneath his arm and used his free hand to let himself out.
Hah. That wasn't so hard now.

But the child was flat on his face a second later.
The door had a step and he tripped right over it.

With a little yelp of pain Yoh trembled for a moment where he'd landed, sure that Sem had gone and rounded up all the others to come see the little blind boy and take part in the merriment that came to some with his disability. But when moments passed and there was only silence Yoh let out a weak sigh, sitting up slowly, nursing his left wrist for a moment before he very shakily got to his feet. And for a long minute he stood where he was, his hand resting against the wall to keep his balance.

Once he caught his breath Yoh let out a weak sigh, patting his loose shirt and straightening the too-long sweatpants he was wearing before he got right back down on his hands and knees and felt around for his pokeballs. This took a few minutes, as one had rolled a considerable distance down the hall, but it was accomplished all in due time. And it was at this time that Yoh noted the voices himself and though he was compelled to find them, as he knew one of them was Mika he stayed put, because he also knew Sem was lurking around somewhere in the same area.
Best just to 'lay low' Kain said, 'don't make a scene' he said, 'leave your pokemon in their pokeballs.'
Oh if he could just let Kro out for a few minutes no one would ever dare to bother him. Kro would tear them apart if they did and then he'd let Ore after them to finish the job. They all underestimated him. He could feel it, what could a boy, blind and only ten who'd lived in a room or a cave his entire life ever accomplish with pokemon?

Yoh snorted, his body shaking a little before he finally got his nerves under control and sighed. Well, when all was said and done he knew Kain had been right. He had to do as the man had told him in the fifty lectures he'd gotten the day before Mika came to pick him up.
This was his chance, his one chance. Yoh knew that and he wouldn't dare screw it up.

But yet, the boy really did wish he'd simply been left back in that room. At least that lonely, was better than this one. He knew that Sem wouldn't let him at Mika anymore without heckling him to death, and that was the last thing he needed.
But then Mika would only persist in spending time with him… if he were getting bullied…

Yoh sighed, shaking his head slightly as he padded off aimlessly down the hall, his interest now in finding a way out of the dorms for a short while. He knew two creatures who always loved to be with him and to heck with what Kain had said. If he could keep calm, everything would be just fine.
But the boy was at a loss, and only ended up on his bum outside the door of his room again after only a few moments. It was useless there was no way he was getting down those stairs alive. Or at least completely intact.

Oh. No no no no that was NOT an option.

But he felt his feet moving with his body and the child let out a weak sigh as he crept up about the same area Sem was hiding in, making sure to keep himself low and quiet.

"S-s-sem? … I- I wanna go outside. On the grass outside the building. I- can't get down the stairs."
His head was hung in defeat and his face burned with embarrassment. But he'd rather face this than the possibility of Mika getting angry at him for butting in.

"Could… you at least … walk me down there."
Why was he doing this? Why why why? Well, he didn't have the answer, but he was desperate to let his pokemon out and spend time with them, they were practically his parents. Especially Kro.
And maybe showing the white flag in the beginning would help get Sem off his back, at least for a little while.
If not.
He'd show that kid a thing or two. One way or another.

{ooc| HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope you guys all had an AMAZING night - I sure did - and I wish you all the best for '07!}

Maxie never had trouble sleeping; it just wasn't in her make-up. Tonight, however, was different. Sleep failed to rear up and claim her, and when it did, she was wracked by fitful dreams of times gone by. Images of burning laboratories, massive dragonites with narrowed eyes, and the cold touch of a psychic mind close to her own, were haunting and frighteningly raw in her mind. When Maxie did wake up, it was a delicious solace. She slipped out of bed only to find Fang already stirring behind her. His expression was fearful. She gave him a reassuring kiss on the wing tip, and got to her feet. She retrieved her gloves from the floor and put them on, mindful of how odd they looked paired with the tiny shorts and baggy band t-shirt (emblazoned with Maxie's old favourite, 'The Super Potions'). She examined herself in the mirror, and shuddered at the state of her legs. Scarred horribly, with a large patch of festering skin covering the back of her left thigh, they were a nasty sight - and they were still too long and too thin. Still, she would go for a short walk to clear her head, and be back before anyone else noticed she had gone. No one else would be awake this time to see her, anyway...

Oh, how wrong she was.
She left her room, and had barely gotten around the corner when she spotted both Sem and another kid she didn't recognise. He was tiny, and very young. His hair was a stark white, and, the girl noticed with a pang, a vicious scar ran down one side of his face. Her heart went out to him, for he was a rat if she ever saw one. His milky eyes, she realised, her sightless. Then, of course, there was Sem; after her previous nastiness towards him, she flashed him what she hoped was a comforting smile as she neared. Maxie approached them both, and stood over them, frowning severely.
"What are you two doing up?" she asked them stonily, but not unkindly. Fang, who had been fluttering above her shoulder, peered past them. As his narrowed eyes wandered, they fell on Mika and the boy called Blue. He jabbed his trainer on the shoulder, and urged her to listen. Maxie leant forward – and pulled back, once Mika mentioned insomnia. Maxie and Fang exchanged glances.

"It's that guilt, isn't it?" she whispered to her pokemon.
{Yeah,} came his rasping reply, {she used to have nightmares, remember?}
"I wonder what's causing them...."
{One way to find out, Max,} Fang said. His mouth had become a thin, smug line.

She left the two younger boys along and headed over. Mika looked perturbed, and while Maxie had no real fondness for her new leader, she had agreed that bygones were bygones.
"Hello," she said quietly, "out for nocturnal strolls too?"
Her eyes flashed to Mika expectantly.

Mika wasn't going to answer Blue's question until Maxie just happened to walk in at the exact same time he asked it. Cursing her stupidity, she attempted in her mind to find a way out of all of this Mother f...no, I can't say stuff like that naymore. I'm a bloody executive... Darn it all... Maxie knows exactly why I'm not sleeping but I just don't want to tell Blue... not yet... not yet... They'll all hate me and I cannot, cannot have that.

Sighing heavily, she let her shoulders sag, "Y-yeah. I'm just having problems sleeping in..this new place!"

It was totally fake and she knew Maxie knew.

"Blue, you should back to your room... I'm going to go to the libary for a bit and read... maybe that'll take the edge off." As she passed Blue with a light wave, she muttered softly into Maxie's ear only, "If you want to know, come with me to the library... I... could use the company." Almost regretting it the moment she said it, she pushed past the girl, almost tripping over Yoh, "Eeep! Oh, Yoh-chan are you alright!?" Kneeling down, she gently dabbed the light blood off the boy's earlier scrape, "You and Sem are going out to play? Be back in here before one, alright? That's in thirty minutes."

Smiling lightly, she continued her walk to the book-filled emporium. At least somebody's getting along in this group...I thought those two would hate eachother...

Blue looked inquisitively at Mika for a second. As his gaze broke, he stopped, and looked into the dim hallway. Feeling a definite presence, he wheeled around to come face to face with that.. other.. other girl. What was her name?

"Oh, um.. jeez." he said, sweatdropping. The girl paid him no mind, instead looking directly at Mika. Mika looked at Blue, a decisively unsettled expression on her face.

"Oh, um.. Y-yeah. It's just I'm having trouble.. sleeping in this new place!" she stammered, and Blue knew right off the bat that it was a bald-faced lie. But Blue felt he had no need, let alone right to call her out on it. The other girl, her eyes still fixated on Mika, spoke in a quiet, dry tone.

"Hello." she said in a near whisper. "Out for nocturnal strolls too, I see?" her eyes once again flashed toward Mika's, but the Rocket executive said nothing. Instead, she looked back to blue, positively uncomfortable.

"Blue, you should back to your room... I'm going to go to the libary for a bit and read... maybe that'll take the edge off." she said, and Blue immediately chalked it up as another convenient excuse. She wanted him out of her affairs; he knew it and accepted it. As for going back to bed, that bit he wasn't so sure about. Blue stood at the edge of the balcony looking off into the sky until Mika had gone. When he turned around, he spotted the two younger boys a little bit farther down the hallway, and shuffled towards them.

"Playing, eh?" he said with a smile. "If that IS the case, I hope you don't mind if I come along with. I doubt I'll be able to get back to sleep." he looked from Sem to Yoh, studying them closely for the first time. "If that ISN'T the case, then I guess I'll be going down to the courtyard, if you'd care to come with for some more.. mature relaxation. I somehow doubt that playing is really what you guys are up late for." he nodded, a look of unseen age suddenly about him.

Sem experienced a most uncharacteristic urge to make a snappy retort as Yoh walked - no, not walked...more like tripped, fell, and stumbled - over to him and began whining for help to get down the stairs. So the parasite couldn't even walk down a flight of stairs on his own? The boy felt like letting out a loud and contemptous snort, now there was a grand helper indeed. And to top it all off he had made such a darn racket that everyone within a five-mile radius probably knew that they were there now.

"Keep quiet." the boy hissed, "Can't you see that we'll be-"

"What are you two doing up?"

Maxie's sudden appearance behind them almost gave Sem a heart attack, the child quickly spinning around to face the older girl.

"Um..." he began, "Miss Maxie...I-"

Fortunately he wasn't required to complete his sentence as the girl proceeded to adress Mika instead. 'Madame executive...' Sem thought for himself, there was something about the way she had spoken just now...something she had been afraid to tell, almost as if...no, that was just ridiculous. The boy shook his head at the thought, that just couldn't be true.

Sem's thoughts were interrupted, however, as the subject of his speculations suddenly made her way over to him and the parasite and...the boy's eyes narrowed ever so slightly. Why was Mika being so nice to this-this thing. This weak, pathetic excuse for a cripple who somehow managed to make everyone, including himself, trip? He couldn't understand it, not at all, but at the same time he didn't want to offend the executive so he kept quiet, even at the offending insinuation that he'd go and play with this mindless little human being who reminded him so much of fungus. So the brat was under her protection, then? Fine, he would abide by her decision, even if he couldn't understand it, but the parasite had better watch his step...or else.

"Playing, eh?" the boy looked up, just in time to pay attention to the guy who's name he couldn't remember but who had - for some reason - decided to adress them, "If that IS the case, I hope you don't mind if I come along with. I doubt I'll be able to get back to sleep. If that ISN'T the case, then I guess I'll be going down to the courtyard, if you'd care to come with for some more.. mature relaxation. I somehow doubt that playing is really what you guys are up late for."

"I-" Sem felt a bit torn, on one hand he wanted nothing more than to increase the distance between himself and the sniveling cripple, but on the other...he was being offered a chance to get outside. The outside...he had never really gotten a chance to experience that for real, "I was really here because I sensed distress from madame executive." he replied at last, "But fine, I'll see what this...mature relaxation is, then."

Yoh waited quietly near Sem for several minutes, waiting for SOME kind of response. But he wasn't a bit surprised when he didn't get any at all, and just ended up sitting with his back against the wall, shutting up with a rather annoyed look on his own face.

But the child was scared half out of his wit when Maxie's voice hit his ears, and he let out a little squeak, nearly crawling right up the wall. And as the girl wandered away towards Mika and Blue the boy sank back down again with a soft sigh, his head lowered a bit as he tried to hide the embarrassed flush spread across his cheeks.
Well that had been brilliant Yoh simply brilliant. Make an even bigger fool out of yourself now, give the kid next to you even more ammo why don't you?

Yoh snorted softly to himself, and lifted his head when he heard more footsteps approaching, and heard Mika's familiar voice,

"You and Sem are going out to play? Be back in here before one, alright? That's in thirty minutes."

Yoh smirked a bit to himself, before he nodded eagerly, "Yes miss Mika. Sem even offered to help me down the stairs."
And then an oh so innocent grin was turned in Sem's general direction as Mika walked off. But that little moment of triumph was short lived when Blue wandered over to the two, and Yoh felt the unmistakable pang of defeat as he grunted and shifted a bit in his spot on the floor.

"Playing, eh?" There was a pause, where Yoh wanted to answer but kept his mouth shut, "If that IS the case, I hope you don't mind if I come along with. I doubt I'll be able to get back to sleep." A short pause "If that ISN'T the case, then I guess I'll be going down to the courtyard, if you'd care to come with for some more.. mature relaxation. I somehow doubt that playing is really what you guys are up late for."

Well, as long as he could get himself out in an area where he could let Kro and Ore out for a while.
The boy sighed, before Yoh also nodded, "Yeah I want to go outside." He answered softly, unseeing eyes tilted up towards Blue, able to pick out pretty well what direction the other was in since he'd just been talking for a good moment or so, "But I need help getting down the stairs." The boy frowned a bit, still looking rather embarrassed.

How far back should I have to go? Tell me.

The library was cold and dark; its patrons long since departed for their rooms or homes to sleep. The books themselves were covered in the viel of dreamhood, that time in the midst of the blackness that books are created before they even appear on a piece of paper submitted for publication. The cheaply made tables sit scattered across the faded carpet, neatly cleaned for the next's day's workload of students desperately cramming for a test, researching for a new paper or simply relaxing.

Everything is so painfully vivid.

"You know Maxie... When I was little, the library was my only real place I could go to... I still want to come here to hide sometimes... It's pathetic, isn't it?" Not waiting for a response, she turned softly on her heels towards the girl, "When I was on the island... Luna let me into her mansion once... and let me see her books. Because somehow she knew, she knew it made everything...mean something. She reached out to me... and I turned her down."

The truth is, we couldn't understand each other

She couldn't help a light sad smile, "Maxie... I'm having you transfered to a different unit. In Kanto. I can't deal with you anymore, I can't deal with Alarayne haunting me anymore. If you leave, it's behind me. It's always behind me. You can't bring up nonsense anymore, about how I should be given over to them, because of the wave. It wasn't my fault, it will never be my fault." Reaching over, she briskly hugged the other once, ignoring the startled reaction she recieved, "I always wanted to be your friend... but it... it just won't work. I'm sorry... but this is goodbye and this time..." Lifting a small syringe from its hiding spot in her pocket, she swiftly jabbed it into the girl's neck, her tone dropping to barely audible levels "You won't remember me."

Maxie never saw it coming. She had no time for a final remark as the drug sifted into her brain, causing her to lose consciousness. That sad smile still on her face, Mika shook her head sadly, leaving the girl in a hump on the ground. Turning to leave she stopped in the doorway to look back at the unconscious girl and once she had seemingly seen her fill, she returned her head to its forward position and sharply snapped her fingers above her head. The next time she turned around, the girl was gone, the only thing remaining was a small piece of fabric, the piece she always had wrapped around her hand to mask the poison seeping beneath the surface. Walking over to it silently, she pocketed it, a light spread of tears drifting from her eyes as she left the room for good, shutting the steel doors behind her.

So I left and didn't look back

She wandered for several minutes before she wandered downstairs, taking a different route from her teamates so as to get there before they did and settled under a tree, a blue tinted pokeball shimmering lightly in her palm, "Tina... Do you think I did the right thing? Do you?" Brushing hot liquid that threatened to spill form her eyes, she let out a sharp laugh, curling her knees up under her chin, arms wrapping around them in an apparent attempt to become as small as possible. As soon as the others made their way onto the grass, she'd snap into her leader mode but for now, for now all she wanted to be was an insecure flawed girl with more on her shoulders than anyone could probably imagine.

Closing her eyes, she waited for the sound of footsteps and or voices

OOC: Death, I think this is a bit of character control on my part with Yoh. If it's too much, let me know by PM before you post and I'll edit accordingly.

IC: As expected, the response from the two boys was a tad less enthusiastic than Blue had expected. Sem straightened himself up, and responded, almost snobbishly, "I was really here because I sensed distress from madame executive." Blue started to raise an eyebrow, but a glimmer of genuine anticipation glittered behind Sem's eyes as he continued. "But fine, I'll see what this...mature relaxation is, then." Blue nudged Sem in the right direction with a slight smile, and kneeled down towards Yoh, his hand resting on Lash's pokeball.

"Yeah I want to go outside." the boy said, in a slightly fearful child-like voice. Blue's heart skipped a beat, finding itself holding great sympathy for the little wretch. ""But I need help getting down the stairs." he continued, hanging his head. Blue frowned, and his hand plucked Lash's pokeball from his belt.

He pressed the button on the pokeball, and the Sneasel was released, looking curiously around at the dark hallway he found himself in.

"Yoh," Blue began, his voice soft as if to gently nudge the boy. "This is my friend, Lash. He can help you down the stairs - he's a very good companion, and he's more suited towards your height. Thought it might make it a bit easier on you." With a nod, Lash gently took the boy by the arm, and lead him towards the stairwell slowly. As they reached the stairs, Lash was ever so careful in maneuvering the boy down the two.. three.. four flights of steps towards the courtyard, making sure the boy felt safe at all times. For the first time in a long time, Lash felt like something he was doing wasn't just an order from a trainer.

<Easy now.> he would caution as they made their way around the curb, his gray paw linked around the boy's forearm. <Watch this step here.. 2 more flights to go..>

As Lash and Yoh made their way slowly down the steps, Blue caught up to Sem. Making his presence known by taking slightly louder footsteps, (although he was quite sure the boy was aware of him being there long before.) he matched paces with the boy, and cleared his throat, as they reached the staircase.

"So, Sem. Tell me a little bit about yourself. " he queiried, hoping his rudely curious expression would be hidden by the darkness of the night.

'Sem offered, eh?' the boy discreetly cast a murderous glare in Yoh's direction, one which quite clearly indicated that a number of painful 'accidents' would occur should he be required to actually go through with it. Fortunately, the colour guy stepped in and offered his Sneasel as a guide for the cripple. The dark type seemed quite eager to do so, actually. It made sense, Sem supposed, after all, both the Sneasels and the Yohs of the world undoubtedly spent most of their lives disturbing others' nests and robbing them of anything precious they could find, they were practically siblings.

Sem would have been quite content to walk in silence, as he was starting to feel uncomfortable enough as it was, even though the peaceful nightly atmosphere was helping the matter a bit. Alas, this was not to be...as Blue proceeded to inquire about...him? The boy shifted uncomfortably, this was a rather awkward topic for him...after all, no-one had been interested in 'him' per-say since Dr.Graye, and the old man had probably known more about Sem to begin with than the boy did himself, so it wasn't exactly a comparable situation. Still, he concluded...he couldn't really pass on this either.

"I..." he began, searching for the words as his gaze followed the tiles of the floor, "I don't really know if there's that much to say." he blushed slightly. "I've...lived in the lab for all my life, and..." he paused briefly, casting a glance at Yoh and wondering if he dared to expose such an awkward secret with the brat so close, but deciding that said brat was probably quite occupied with the Sneasel at the moment, "I've...never been outside." he conceeded at last, his voice now only a faint whisper, "But...somtimes I-"

Just then...he felt it, his body suddenly becoming so drained of strength that he barely managed a gasp as he collapsed to the ground, one hand attempting to grasp his forehead in a feeble attempt to ease the pain. Pain, that was the sensation that was coursing through him at the moment, engulfing him, swallowing him, consuming him. It wasn't just the faint sensation of physical discomfort, no...it went deeper, far deeper, a release of pent-up emotional distress so powerful and sudden that neither PSD nor physical distance could quell it, and with the boy's mind being tired and weakened from the start, the pain was given free reign.

"S-so-some....one..." he managed to press out, the faint and tattered voice almost evading even in his own hearing as gathered all his strength of will to turn his eyes to meet Blue's, "...so-someone...is in pain..."

Yoh had lifted his head again, those eerie eyes turned towards Blue when the male addressed him and his head tilted slightly, exposing just a tiny bit more of the scar that ran across his face as his hair slid more to one side.

"This is my friend, Lash. He can help you down the stairs - he's a very good companion, and he's more suited towards your height. Thought it might make it a bit easier on you."

Lash? More suited to his height? But after he caught the familiar sound of a pokemon being released a small smile crept across the boy's features. He waited quietly and when he felt the light pressure of the Sneasel's paw he very gently held to it, nodding towards Blue, "Thank you." He murmured out earnestly.

And the child kept a gentle grip on his guide, following the creature as they maneuvered down the stairs and once his feet were finally on firm ground Yoh patted the pokemon's paw affectionately, smiling warmly towards it, "And thank you. Very much." He murmured out softly, letting out a relieved sigh that had been held in from the moment he'd crept out of the room.

But now that they were on level ground, Yoh gently released himself from Lash, letting the pokemon go where it wished now before the boy stopped cold. His body shook a bit at about the same time Sem collapsed, and his head turned towards the other two questioningly.
He could certainly feel it, an overbearing pain from somewhere near by, but… wow Sem was being a bit overdramatic wasn't he? Seems like they'd not taught him how to deal with things like that yet… And the child couldn't help but to let out a very soft snicker, holding in a comment he so desperately wanted to let out.

But as Yoh turned back towards the outside he grew still, sifting through the emotions in his mind, trying silently to get to the person they were attached to.. but… but who…

The boy suddenly let out a shrill squawk his eyes widening, "M-Miss Mika!" And that was all he uttered as he shot off across the grass, fast as his little legs could carry him.
And it took the child only a minute to get to her and he was quietly whining and nudging at the ball she'd made of herself, trying to get her to come out.

"Mika… Mika? What's wrong..? What happened?"

As soon as the question came out of his mouth, Blue regretted asking it. The way Sem talked almost made Blue sick to his stomach. "I.." he began. "I don't really know if there's that much to say." Blue's heart reached out to the boy as he went on. "I've...lived in the lab for all my life, and..." at this, Sem took a quick look towards Lash and Yoh before continuing in a much lower tone. "I've...never been outside." At this, Blue's mind shut down for a second. Much like a computer rebooting, he opened his mouth to say about a million things, but nothing came out. He quickly closed it, and the boy continued. "But...somtimes I-"

As soon as the words left his lips, Blue knew something was wrong. Even in the dim light, Blue saw the boys face contort with pain. With a feeble gasp of air, Sem dropped to his knees, and quick as a flash, Blue dropped down beside him, his arm gently placed on the boy's shoulder. Blue opened his mouth to speak.

"Are you-" he began, but the boy croaked out in a whisper, completely oblivious to any other stimulus.

"S-so-some....one..." he whispered faintly, his face still writhing in pain. As the boy's face turned to meet Blue's own, a sharp chill scrambled down his spine. The boy's eyes were desperate, wild. "...so-someone...is in pain..." he managed to exclaim in a barely audible voice.

Thanking his lucky stars he wasn't still on the stairs, Blue hoisted Sem up and propped him up by the shoulders, while looking around for a tree. He found a shady oak in the middle of the courtyard, and hobbled over to it, setting the boy down. As if on cue, Lash made his way to the two, and began to examine Sem closely.

<What is it, boy?> Lash quieried, seeing no physical injury on the young boy. Blue suddenly realized something. Standing up and looking around, he looked to Lash.

"Hey.. where's Yoh?" he asked. Lash pointed in the direction the boy had gone. Blue craned his neck and squinted, trying to squeeze his vision through the blackness of the night...

OOC: Mika, that'd be your cue to.. uh.. do somethin'.

Her head snapped up from her little coil when the child's hand touched her skin, shaking her out of her light misery, "Yo-yoh? Oh, I'm fine, I was just cold and a little sleepy." Uncoiling, she gently searched the child's face, "Why are you up…?" A light sharp gut feeling quickly told her something was wrong; she was missing both Blue and Sem and she doubted the little boy had gotten outside on his own.

Standing up, she gently motioned for the boy to sit by petting his head, "Yoh, stay here and you can call out one of your Pokemon alright? The smallest one if you could? We don't want to wake people up." Ruffling his hair, she darted off in the general direction of the ground level doors (most people don't jump out of second story windows) and quickly nudged the boy gently nudging the seemingly immobile boy on the ground out of her way, cradling the seemingly spasing child's head in her arms, "Sem, Sem what happened?" She gently rubbed at his temples, sliding his head into her lap, "Calm down, breathe."

OOC: Urgh...stupid biology people hogging the computer lab. >.< I honestly haven't had more than fifteen minutes of computer time today until now because of school, driving lessons, and the slow bus system. Sowwee... T_T

IC:

No, no, NO! Sem had wanted to go and see the glorious outside from his dreams, fantasised about it, practically worshiped the notion during the endless grueling hours down in the lab, but he didn't want to do it like this...weak, powerless, hauled over someone else's shoulder like a sack of potatoes, and with the cripple within hearing distance too...he wanted to scream out his outrage, rid himself of the humiliation, but lacked the strength to do so, his face blushing deep red with shame instead as he allowed himself to be carried wordlessly, although in truth this would probably just be jotted down as another side-effect of the backlash.

Humiliating though the way he had been carried down was, the boy had to admit that leaning against the oak and staring at the stars above was...he couldn't even put it into words, the sheer vastness of the sky and its endless stars...all the pictures and computer simulations in the world couldn't truly have prepared him for that, nor could they possibly have emulated the feeling of the grass against the palms of his hands, the soft rustle of the wind in the leaves of the tree...it was like his dreams, but even stronger, more...vivid somehow, this wasn't just a hallucination or daydream, no this-this was real. Or was it? The boy could feel a slight nudging on his body as Lash inspected him, was that the lab aide again? Would he be dragged away from the grass, the tree, the overwhelming beauty of the night sky? He twitched, no not this time, he wouldn't, he couldn't, he'd never-

"Sem, Sem what happened?"

A worried voice cut through Sem's daze, the boys gaze slowly shifting from the vastness of the sky to recognize the person who was holding him...cradling him, even. This was a completely new sensation for the boy, and what a wonderful sensation it was. This was not the dour lab aide, that was for certain.

"Calm down, breathe."

Sem saw no reason to object, just now realizing that he had largely neglected the activity before as the oxygen coursed through his body and brought his mind back into focus, finally recognizing the face in front of him.

"M-madame executive?" he began, the shame of his crumbling now fresh in his mind, "I...I'm sorry..." the boy muttered, "So sorry..." he repeated, tilting his head towards Blue, "I-I just couldn't take it, that anguish was..." he paused, a thought suddenly striking him as he turned his gaze back to Mika, "Madame executive?" the boy inquired carefully, "Someone was in horrible pain just now, do-do you know who it could have been?"

(Ok, look, let me put this simply, I got confused by Mika, and this whole things just spun out of control but I'm posting know, because everyone is waiting for someone to make a move, I don't know who's sticking with this RP, but I sure am so… Yah, I'm just jumping back in, Will just kind of blended into the shadows that day, lets leave it at that if we can.)

Will just started at the ceiling of his room, he had been doing thus for a good hour. Will has always had a problem with sleeping, insomnia has always haunted him, but this was a partially bad night. 'Maybe.. I should report in..' Will thought, as he started at the near by clock, it was a bit past twelve, no surprise there. A smile crossed his face 'Nah, they can wait until later, it won't kill them.' Will just thought to himself, tossing one of his pokeball in the air, and catching it, repeating this for a while, he finally grasped it hard, and released the pokemon within.

A simply beautiful Gardevoir emerged, opening it's eyes and glancing at Will. "Hey Mako, though you might want a breather, I know staying in that ball TO long gets you annoyed." Will said with a small wink, and a slight smile, as the Pokemon smiled back. 'I was fine, but thank you for your consideration, another late night I see?' The pokemon thought communicating with Will telepathically. "Well, yes, I was actually thinking of taking a walk, if you would like to stretch your legs." Will said his feet already at the edge of the bed, he had yet to undress, so he was ready to go. 'Well… I could get you to sleep, but I know how you hate when a use any type of telekinesis on you… So I don't see the harm.' The pokemon for the most part said, Will opening the door, as they both left the room, neither really very tired.

The two just kind of wondered around the area, deciding to head to the ground floor 'Shouldn't you be… Well looking for items of importance?' the Mako thought to Will, as they headed closer to a door outside. "Nah, don't worry, it's a nice night, and I can't stayed caged up in this building for too long, I'll go mad." Will said with a sigh, as Mako simply smiled, quietly walking behind him. But it was then they noticed three people, the executive and leader Sem's the odd lab boy that had caught his interest, and Blue, who will simply remembered as, "The guy with the Sneasel" "Wow is everyone around here an insomniac or did I miss something?" Will said, getting closer, then noticing Sem looked hurt, in pain in some way, he quickly picked up the pace sitting by Mika. 'He doesn't look to good…" Will thought turning to Mika. "What happened here, um.. Miss BlackThorn" Will said, deciding to refer to her by her last name at the last second, Mako to, was looking closely at the boy wondering if she could help.

OOC: Nyu, Mika-chan, I know you've probably got RL concerns or whatever, but I thought I should let you know that you're holding everyone up in like, three of the four RPs I'm currently in, so could you pleeease scrimp up, haggle, and steal the time to make an IC post somewhere ASAP? I'm posting here now to get at least something done but really, I can't drag things out forever. :3

IC:

Sem flinched just a little as even more people came around. It was one of the other boys...Will, was it? And he had a pokémon with him too...a psychic pokémon at that, and there they came...more questions to strain his ears, more sympathy and concern Sem hadn't asked for, so many feelings to register that his exhausted mind would rather had done without. 'Why?' he thought for himself, embarassment growing inside of him, 'Why must everyone stare at me? Why all this concern? Madame executive is already taking care of me, why does everybody else have to stand there with their inane questions and stupid stares? What about the person who was in pain, who's looking out for them?'

As the frustration mounted in his mind, the boy finally came up with a way that might just work, focusing his stare on the Gardevoir that had come with Will, "You can hear me, don't you?" he demanded, his mindvoice trembling "Then tell them...tell those others to take away their worried stares and their chaotic emotions and go somewhere else!" the anger built up in him, and he could no longer find the discipline to keep his mindvoice from reacting to it, "All this questions and no-one is listening! I'm fine! The pain I felt isn't mine, it's a...kind of reflection, a ripple if you will. I'm recovering, so why doesn't anyone pay attention to the source?!" if he had spoken these words, Sem would have been shouting at the top of his lungs by now, "Someone was in far more pain than me just now, go and find them! I'm fine with madame executive, so the rest of you go!"
