  • Im not a Dragon user.
In all fairness, Dragonite is a great physical attacker, but really not worth the effort to get one.
Too many people throw down dragons for battling I think.

  • My favorite dragon is Flygon, but he's way down on the list of things I like. XD

I don't use Dragon types often, but I happen to like them for their designs.

  • I actually like Dragon Pokemon. They're very well designed (such as Garchomp, Flygon, Salamence, Ononokusu and Sazandora) and have very good movepools (like Dragonite, Salamence and Rayquaza).

  • I love Dragon-types and dragon-like Pokemon as well! Something about them just exudes the sense of raw power.

I mainly like the legendary dragons, but the pseudo-legendary dragons and the other dragonlike Pokemon are awesome as well. I especially like the fact that we have 2 powerful Dragon trios representing awesome concepts (the Dimensional/Reality Trio and the Tao Trio). And the fact that Emerald's mascot represents the sky and serves the purpose of mediator for its 2 counterparts. Finally, all of their designs are pretty cool (especially Giratina, Rayquaza, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyuremu). :D

  • The funny thing about dragon types is that they don't very often look like dragons, though pokemon like Charizard and Gyrados do. :P

  • I hate the high levels of evolution for dragons. xD

And I hate how half of them are double susceptible to ice.

So the weird Dragon-Steel/Water/Psychic ones are cool.

  • I like some of them like Dragonite in gen1 before they split the special stat, Salamence and Flygon in gen3 because they were awesome and Ononokusu is frickin awesome and will probably be the first dragon type in my team since gen1 (I have a lot of needs for my team).

What do dragons 'look like' then?? Dragons are mythical creatures, so it is entirely up to the artist's interpretation as to what they think a Dragon is. Charizard and Gyarados look like stereotypical dragons, but that doesn't make them anymore dragon looking than a Hoppip if someone decided so.

I like Dragons a bit, rarely have one in my team, but I use them occasionally in battles with friends because they would never expect me to do so =P

That would be the funniest looking Dragon-type Pokemon ever! :cer_laugh: But you have a point about dragons being mythical (for now! :rambo:) The Dragon-type is a strange one... It doesn't really have any qualifications aside from that any Dragon-type Pokemon (usually) has to be strong...

And now that I think about it, it's hilarious/strange how, based off of traditional dragon depictions, Shelgon the "pod" Pokemon qualifies as a Dragon but Charizard, Gyarados, and Jaroda do not... :\ :pink_laugh:

There are Pokemon I don't like, but there isn't a type I don't like. As I said previously in a thread right in this section I feel like dragons get a lot of back lash not because of just being overrated, but also because of the people who are often associated with using them continually. To be honest the only dragon types I don't care for are the IV and V generation ones. I'm not counting any legendaries since I never use them.

As for why I like most of them I think it just has to do with design. Although I also enjoy how one good dragon on your team can sweep through your game. :)

Considering that most European art, Greek art, Japanese art, and the like is pretty consistant, artist interpretation isn't really a good point. That would be like someone's 'interpretation' of vampires being that they're all pretty, are able to hang out in the day time, and all go after one girl at the same would be accepted....wait

Those types of interpretations kill the very idea of such.

  • I don't consider myself a Dragon trainer, and I don't consider myself a huge fan of Dragon types or anything; there's only five dragons that I love enough to train and use consistently: Kingdra, Altaria, Sazandra, Giratina, Reshiram. The last two are ubers, so I don't use them as much, obviously. Anyways, in the future there's a good chance that Dragon may become a favourite type of mine, since I love the typing itself and if they keep making lots more like this gen did, I can definitely see myself using Dragon Pokemon more often (more designs = more choice!)

  • They're not my favorite type (though I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite type) but I do use Dragons and Flygon is a member of my main team, so...

As with other types, there are dragons I like and dragons I don't like...
