Dragonforce anyone?

I saw them at the Mayhem Fest in VA Beach, and I think they are amazing. They blew me away! Both Herman and Sam are awesome guitarists. I don't really see how they could be boring. I also don't think they sound the same. I've listened to them alot recently, and they are definitely on my top band list.

ooh! i also got to see them for rockstar mayhem festival. quite the show they played. My Spirit will go on and above the winter moonlight are top faves of mine

I know, they played an awesome show and were very crowd interactive, which was awesome. I was in the pit, so I was like right there, and it was my first metal concert!

Don't like the voice of whoever sings; don't like the high-pitched, whiny guitar sound; don't like solos; don't like how long and repetetive the songs are; and while I don't personally hold much opinion on their lyrics, most people lol at them.

That said, nobody can avoid admiring the speed of the notes. If it weren't for that, they'd not be so famous.

Well then you, obviously, don't like powermetal.

One of my favorite bands but I won't deny that their songs do sound similar. If it wasn't true than people wouldn't say it.

=D everyone should go listen to D-force's new album on their website entitled "Ultra Beatdown"

Gotta say, not a fan of the album name, but that songs are great. Check it out!

I'm liking TtFaF quite a bit right now. I actually haven't heard any of their other songs yet.

But this one...I like how Herman Lee breaks the whammy bar off his guitar in the music video. That's insane.

Haha yeah they do some crazy things to their guitars and get some weird sounds to come out...They are incredibly creative though.

..Once you've heard TTFAF, you've basically heard all Dragonforce songs. Seriously...they all pretty much sound the exact same XD;

Personally, I don't hate them, I just think their music is terribly overrated. It's funny how when the name "Dragonforce" is dropped on people, they instantly are brought back to GH3, yet 4 years ago, the average person had never even heard of the band.

I only like TTFAF. But personally, they are pathetic live. Look up any video of them and you'll see what I mean. I've never heard a worse live performance. The lead singer's voice is sloppy and he can barely sing as it is. Herman Lee can barely play his own songs and constantly messes up.

They're okay when you listen to their CDs, but I'd never go to a live performance. I don't see why they'd fake their music, then act like they can perform it live or even THINK they could.

I will admit they there are definitely a studio band. When you're playing stuff that technical, there's no way it's going to sound as good live.

Yet people still want to see them play live, no matter how bad they might sound. They make tons of money off of concert tours. I myself am content listening to one of their CDs.

I believe you. A lot of bands are like that, actually. But sometimes you just need more than one song to express yourself, even if the other ones you make are similar. If I enjoy the music, I'm not going to mind if it all sounds the same...I may want that, in fact.

As for Dragonforce...I think I'm going to count them a one-hit wonder in my book. I'm content with TTFAF, and I won't think of them as less of a band even if the rest of their stuff is just okay. And about the live music thing...that happens constantly. Music is so techified these days that it would be nearly impossible for most artists to perform well in person.

You know, contrary to popular belief, people did listen to Dragonforce before GH3....*raises hand*

They weren't nearly as popular as they are now, but they did have a following. TTFaF certainly launched them into stardom. It's fine if you only like that one song, but why not see what else they have to offer? Granted, it will be similar, but no one said that any of their other songs are bad. If you like one song, why not listen to another?
