2nd Gen Dumbest Rumour You've ever heard?

Lol some idiot said if you used a leafstone on eevee you get a leafeon
Also someone said if you trade a snorlax from G/S/C to R/B/Y then back to G/S/C and breed it you get a munchlax

You'll apparently see a bunch of lvl 120 pokemon there and a weird glitch pokemon or something, you're supposed to run away from the glitched pokemon and then you'll get 99 of whatever item you have in your sixth slot.

It sounds really stupid doesn't it?

I heard this one where you can catch Deoxys in that cave where you get Sunny Day in Sapphire.

Well, it's not in RBY/GSC, but it's dumb enough. =D
 
I remember another one. Someone once told me that Mewtwelve existed.

Mewthree is unbelievable enough... but Mewtwelve?! XD
 
Back when I was playing Sapphire, my brother told me that there was a grassy island next to Pacifidlog Town where you could catch a ton of wild eevees.
Being the eevee lover I was, I spent hours looking for that island before I figured out he was lying. D:
 
another one is that if you talk to the voltorb cage in the zoo 120 times the voltorb will battle you and it is lvl 99

There actually is a glitch that lets you go behind his house in R/B/Y, but there's absolutely nothing there.
 
lol one time my cousin told me if you tilt the game when you attack the pokemon took more or less da,age depending on how you tilt it xD....yeah I was like 6?

Doing it made me kinda popular though, got like 4 of my Pokemon to 100, no one else I knew did that until G2!
 
I knew this one guy who had a little brother. Claimed that there was indeed a green garados in Sapphire. He yelled and cursed, and even cried to tell me that he spoke the truth, so much that after a few minutes of crying, the parents asked me to leave the house.

I'd have smacked him one, but I'm no cruel man.
 
Mm, I got sucked in by the holding-down-buttons-while-throwing-Pokéballs rumors... the version I heard said that you had to hold A and B while you were throwing the ball, let go of B when the Pokémon got sucked into the ball, and then let go of A after the ball had landed on the ground and but before it started wiggling. I still do that, even though I know it doesn't work...

There was one rumor I believed for the longest time, because I wasn't involved in the online Pokémon fanbase and had no way of knowing it was untrue. A friend told me in fifth grade that she had a shiny Ditto (and that much was true) and that, because it was shiny, it could breed with any Pokémon--even the unbreedable ones, the legendaries. She said that if I traded my Mewtwo to her, she would breed it and I could hatch a level 5 Mewtwo, which seemed like a good deal to me. This was in fifth grade and I believed her, but I never remembered to bring my game to school so we didn't trade. Now I'm wondering if she just hadn't tried to breed any legendaries and simply assumed that because Ditto could breed with normal Pokémon, it could breed with all of them, or if she was trying to trick me out of my legendaries.
 
I heard one in FireRed recently. =\ (Fine, 2 years ago...)

If you go to the Treasure Beach or whatever its called you can find rare candies , master balls etc in the sand...I...fell for it =(
 
That if you use a masterball on the odd-colored ghost in the Pokemon Tower it will be MISSINGNO. Believed it, but I shut my game off after when I realized it was not true. x3 But then I found the mew trick, and my MISSINGNO. hunting times were on!!

Once I heard this rumor:

fly to cinnabar and go to the pokemon mansion, talk to a statue 100 times and mewmillion will fight you, he is level one, kill him and he will say "omg! u SUK!" and then he will teleport you to Darkdix Island where you find level 1 mews with max stats, catch one and mewmillion will send you to hell. go catch satan, and you will be teleported to bills garden, where you fight Darkocity, the Darkest Pokemon, beat him and the words" OMG!!!!!1111ONE11!!! U DON'T SUK!!!!!!!!1110ONE!!!!" will appear on screen and you will get every pokemon.

Beat that!
 
that if you fly to saffron then fly to cinnabar and surf up and down in the water, you find a missingo. then it gives you 99 master balls as your first item. darn it, took me hours to realise it definitely wasnt gonna work...

well im not sure its the dumbest but:


if you try to catch a pokemon as soon as the pokeball hits start spinning the cross buttons/joystick and it greatly ups your chances of catching that pokemon.


i still try it but i believe its fake.
