2nd Gen Dumbest Rumour You've ever heard?

The Neon City one. You had to beat the league a dozillion of times and then the SS. Anne would come back and send you to Neon City, a city with all the big buildings (Mall, Casino, Laboratory, Tower, Safari...) together >>
 
lets see ones i heard of:

missingno evolving into a mew
give mew a mist stone(wtf) and it will evolve into a mew three
give mewtwo a mist stone and it will evolve into a metal mewtwo
you can get maril (pikablu) from the people in the celedon game corner
you can get togepi from giovanni

you know,i never heard of the neon city rumor.


other rumors i have heard of;

theres a secret door in the power plant that takes you to an island where you can catch all the pokemon

in viridian theres a ghost that takes you somewhere where you can get all the pokemon

There is one where you can catch celebi by giving a storebot charcoal to kurt if your whole team is filled with grass types
 
I heard that in G/S you could create a fusion Pokémon by breeding, like "Hypnochan" or "Venustoise." How disappointed I was when I read about egg groups.

I also heard about some Pokémon that were rumored to be in Generation II, like Lazylax (Snorlax's evolution) and Tri-eon (the Grass evolution of Eevee). My little sister said at that time that there was a secret Pokémon called "Airchu" which was a Pikachu with red legs that was more powerful than Raichu, and even though she was four at the time and I was about eight, I still believed her.
 
When my older cousin gave me his Red, he said that if you trained an Eevee to level 100 in Viridian Forest without leaving, it would evolve into a Grass-type Eeveelution called Leafeon. Apparently, it has a leaf on its haid and five vines for a tail.

(He never played Pokemon past Red. xD I was all "Dude, there's already a Leafeon. You get it by leveling up near a rock in Eterna Forest..." And he says, "Well, I might have got the name wrong.")
 
Back when GSC came out my friend said that, if you tried to send a Celebi over from GSC to RBY the GSC Kanto changes into the RBY Kanto, i never tried it though.
I also heared that if you bread two Lickitungs in GSC you had a 1 in 100 chance that a Yoshi would hatch from the egg.

THE EASIER WAY (YOU CAN CATCH MORE THAN 1 MEW THIS WAY)
1. Have a pokemon with a special of 21
2 Fly away from the Gambler battle on route 8(left of lavender)
3. find any trainer and battle him
4. Fly to anywhere that has a Ditto in the wild
5. Let the wild Ditto transform into your Pokémon with the special of 21
6. Beat the Ditto (or just run away)
DO NOT FACE ANY OTHER POKEMON AFTER THIS!
7. return to route 8 (go to lavender, and walk to the left on that path)
8. if you did the trick correctly, you should be facing another Lvl 7 Mew!

This rumour isn't exactly a lie. A similar rumour is:

  • Play Pokémon Red and go to the gambler on route eight.
  • Run down to him then quickly press start and fly away, he should try to battle you but you should fly and your start menu should lock up.
  • Go to Cerulean city, nugget bridge and fight the trainer with the Slowpoke. Make sure he has to walk upto you or your game will freeze.
  • Afterwards fly to Lavender town and walk to the entrance to route 8 then your menu should open automatically. Press B and a level 7 Mew will appear.
This isn't a lie, this rumour is a true glitch. I've tried it myself on Pokemon Red.

A stupid rumour I heard was at level 75 Arcainine would evolve into Entei, another was that if I beat the elite four 10 times I could enter Bills secret garden and find a mew there.

I've seen fake hacks showing them entering Bills secret garden, which I found rather interesting and funny because people achually fell for it.
 
Lol... i think i got a few rumors but i think they all have been said...


Lol the mew under truck i actually fell for this one (dont know how old i was still), the S.S Anne had "left" already so normally you can't get past the guard, but using my cunning glitching skills I "walked" over the guard and headed to the truck (Lol the boat was still there so i can enter it whenever i want to). I tried using strength and any other way to get mew but it didn't work >.<

Lol the oak funeral 1... as soon as i heard it I'm like... that's so fake. I didn't even bother trying that 1.

Lol these ones... i pity the ones who have fallen for this.
Restart your game, save in your room and talk to the person that says how technology is incredible 1000 times and he will say something like "Look! I'll give you a lvl 100 mew if you just leave me alone!"
 
Um, something like train a Dragonite, go to Mewtwo's spot, give it a Fire Stone, and it will evolve into Yoshi. XD

My brother and I were tricked by our neighbor into looking for Mew under the truck. We wanted one too, since he pwned us in battles with his Mew. What a jerk.

Wild Groudon appeared! It's Lv. 1
A breeding center and if you breed a lv. 1 Groudon and a lv. 100 Mewtwo (see where this is going?) you get into Johto and Houen!
There is supposed to be a Mewthree by using MOONSTONE on Mewtwo or by placing a Mewtwo and walking exactly 250,000 steps while it's holding a PokeBall.

Also, to the guy that said people believed Gonbe is Snorlax's pre-evolution, he is right, it is. But I heard that you can get the Munchlax (US name for Gonbe) in Red and Blue by catching 20 Snorlax and they will all have sexy time and give you a Muchlax, lv. -1.

Catch Yoshi. Been said already but heres how: Let the old guy teach you how to catch pokemon, fly to cerulean city, go to the cave and find mewtwo without encountering any wild battles on the way. Mew two won't be there but a lv. 100 Yoshi will be. Awesome. I tried, but I think I did it wrong cause it didn't work.
 
in ruby u can breed skitty and wailord and actually get an egg.
i heard this and thought it was a rumour but its actually true 0_o
