Elekid, Magby or both?

Im thinking about making a 3D animated pokemon series. like the anime but ... 3D.
and im thinking of having the hero recieve a pokemon at the start.
im not sure what to give him though, Elekid or Magby.
i kind of have a soft spot for Elekid at the moment but magby is growing on me.
im not sure whether to just have them both.

so im looking for opinions :P

I like both, but I like Magby better.

I think Elekid is better. It evolves into Electivire, which most people would have on their teams unlike like Magmortar.

I have a soft spot for electric types, and electivire, so i'm going to say elekid.
i just think every form after magby is ugly, especially magmortar.

I love both. Electivire is MUCH better, but I love Magmortar so much that I had to vote both.
