Kasumi was stunned by what Lugia had said. He was right; something had just happened to her. She didn't know what. Was it possible that since she possessed him, he now could interfere with her thoughts? Kasumi shuddered. She could believe what had just happened.

Lugia took off, but noone was watching him. Everybodys attention was drawn towards the phantom Espeon. Kasumi, their friend, looked just as astonished as the rest of them were.

<Wh-what happened to me?> She gasped. <I- such- anger... and hatred...>

<My, my, my....> Black chuckled, despite his predicament, <what HAS happened to you my dear? Has the sweet, kind, and caring Kasumi thought evil thoughts?> He cackled disdainfully, plainly taking delight in seeing her so insecure. <I guess I really shouldn't be surprised... you ARE my Great-granddaughter after all... maybe it runs in the blood- despite the fact you have none left->

<Shut up, treacherous creature!> Orkairn barked. <As you have just said- she is your Great-grandaughter! Your own flesh-and-blood! And you-> He advanced menacingly upon him, <...you are in allegiance with the Terrible Ten... The very ones who have killed her! They have robbed her of her life! And you rob her of a family! Haven't you done enough? Haven't the Ten ruined enough lives, without the help of those who should be fighting them?!? You were born free- free to make your own decisions- and what have you done with that freedom?!?>

Everyone watched in awe as Orkairn, now mounted upon a towering rage, faced the legendary Black Thunder. Already oversized for a Crawdaunt at 5'10'', his fury seemed to make him fill the skies.

<-You wasted your time challenging our nations heroes, while the Ten ravaged the land- and your family- right behind your back! And when you finally turned around and saw the full extent of their destruction, what- just what- did you do then?!?>

Black remained silent.

<-You JOINED THEM!!! You- joined- THEM! THEM! The very destroyers of everything you- I- and everyone else- had! In the face of the greatest threat this world has known in centuries- and instead of standing to fight like you gladly did against Ho-oh, you join them! You had nothing to lose- and everything to gain!>

<What does it matter to you?>Black spat finally.<What does any of this have to do with you?>

The returning glare Orkairn gave Black would have frozen the firiest of volcanoes.

<........everything.> He turned around and faced everyone. <Does anybody know what happened at Petalburg 18 years ago? Right before the uprising of the Ten?>

<............"Bloodpetal"...> Soorya whispered, a horrified look in her eyes.

<Yes..."Bloodpetal", and that battle earned that name well...> He turned back to Black. Orkairn was calm now, but that calm was the one equal to that of dark waters at night; cold as ice, and deadlier than Death. <Let me tell you a little something Black... these scars that adorn my shell... they were all born from Bloodpetal, for I was in it. Until that one week, Black, I, too, was free. And I, too, had come face to face with the greatest danger my community has seen for centuries. But- unlike you, Black- my land and family still thrived. I had everything to lose- and nothing to gain. And yet, when Team Aqua came and stole my friends and family away from me- and then forced them against me- I fought. I fought- against the very same friends and family I grew up with- because I still had one thing under my name- my homeland. The least of my possessions- and yet still I fought, Black.>

He paused, an expression of great pain upon his face, as if his old wounds had reopened- and in a way, they did- but these wounds cut much deeper than his shell. These scars are much harder to heal. And the pain exceeds much more than that any torture chamber can inflict.

<A week, Black. A week. No sleep. No food. No family. No friends. No place to hide. No place to rest. Fire, Death, and Destruction were the only things that one could see. Battle after countless battle I fought on. And in the short lulls between those battles, the only things that kept me company were the screams. The screams of my friends and family, Black. Screams of agony and fear, as each one after the other fell at my feet dead. I killed them, Black- I killed them. My own bretheren. I killed them. And why, do you ask?>

Dead silence.

<Because I had something to fight for- Freedom. For me. For my home. For those of us who remained. No matter how dire the situation, no matter how many fell, I still had that- and nobody was going to take that away from me.>

<Even your own family?>

<........No...Not even them.>

<You realize that in saying that you justify my->

<-because they're the ones who told me to.>

Noone expected that. Orkairn looked at Black again.

<"No-one, noone except you- has the right to tell you what to do." They said to me, "Your freedom of choice is the one thing they can never take away from you. Remember that." -and I did remember- and I chose freedom for my people- even at the sacrifice of my own. It was my choice- but it was also theirs. Our choice.>

Then the battled-scarred veteran turned to his companions.

<Bring it down.>

Awestruck, they obeyed. The wind died. The ice melted. The glass fell. Chiira withdrew her vines. And Soorya released Black Thunder from her hold. Black stood there, stunned. He glanced up. Orkairn stood before him, with the Chosen behind him.

<I made my choice, Black Thunder. What is yours?>

ooc: don't powerplay too much Iron Mankey... remember Black Thunder is Dark_Espeon's character... you can't just say whatever you want with him... just a suggestion... and I didn't took off... I just walked... and sorry if I'm rude... mood changes... and... for how long you have been saying you are my weirdiness rival!?... rival? XD.

ic: As I slowly walked to the museum... I noticed that Lylicove was like a haunted city. I sighed and continued. Apparently, the museum was too small for me. I sighed and I slowly took the ceiling away. "beautiful..." I expressed as I looked at the paintings. One catched my attention... it was a small pok?mon with her father... it somehow made me think about how many of the young ones, human kids, young pok?mon, etc, lost their families.

OOC: Don't worry about what Iron Mankey does with Black Thunder, Max Hunter, if dark_espeon has a problem with it, then she'll let him know. Just worry about your characters. ^-^ And good luck with the mood changes, at least you're admitting that you have them.

"Kasumi...," I whispered, casting a worried glance at my friend, "What...?" I knew that she felt angry and enraged by the things she had known and felt Black Thunder had done, but to say that with such hatred in her voice. She looked as if she would really do it too.

Lugia had walked away from us, I knew that he was right, being a part of something like that was not what I wanted. Though I didn't care an ounce for the Jolteon before me, I knew that thwarting evil by doing evil was not the way.

Orkairn was really angry too, well, so was I. He was right, all those innocent people, the champions of the pokemon world, and of the human world, all destroyed by them. So many deaths, so much torture and fright.

I knew a bit of how Kasumi felt; probably nowhere near as much as her, but I found that I had to control my anger when I thought of defeating the Terrible Ten. I had never killed anyone before, so to imagine actually killing something was a very foreign and frightening concept.

I released Black Thunder; Orkairn was giving him a choice, but I kept at a stance to attack so that I was ready. I knew that even with Orkairn's words, Black Thunder would not be turned so easily, though I admired the Crawdaunt for his humility.

"I know what you'll choose Black," I said quickly, "But be warned; we may not look like much, but we will defeat you, the Terrible Ten, and anyone else that stands between us, and the freedom of this world." Hm, I sounded much braver than I felt.

At that moment, I heard a wooshing sound. John had returned to us, and with his power. Hopefully, he could lend it to help us if Black Thunder decided to fight.

OOC: (To Max Hunter) Black Thunder? Powerplay? Keep in mind that I didn't actually make him do anything. Whether he chooses to join us or not is entirely up to Dark-Espeon. I'll go with either one. And I never saw Lugia walk before, with such short legs, I think it would look kinda funny. Why walk when you can fly? As for the weirdiness rivalry, I'll let that rest. Since we're in the school year now, I'm not gonna be on that often. After tomorrow, I'm gonna be trudging my way through more schoolwork. As with all my abscences, I entrust Orkairn to D.E.

Hey Azure, is the element Darkness free? Or has somebody else get this element? Other question: Can i join, or is it full? And: Do i have to play as a trainer? ;-)

Well all of us are pokemon; nobody's a trainer. You would have to play as a pokemon. And, I don't know... we're pretty far into the story, for you to jump in right now would be kinda strange.

Sorry Nigma, I'm gonna have to say no. Unless you've got another idea. Perhaps I'll do a sequel if/when we finish this one, and you can join that.

ooc: HEY! I have admitted I have sudden mood changes since always!! I just... forget I have them... and yes I do admit I'm a person that forgets everything... and... who cares... birds can walk too Iron Mankey... XD.

ic: I suddenly saw Mewtwo... since I always called him that way and possibly will always, came... I was kinda happy... since he had to be the good guy with the weird attitude and feeling. I started to study Lilycove... such a destroyed city. Just a few meters away was the Safari Zone. "hm... it would be a nice place for hiding from somebody... maybe there are pok?mon in there!" I expressed as I took a close look at the Safari Zone... unfortunately... I couldn't leave with my friends still there with Black Thunder.

Ok, i understand. Well, i am thinking about a good story for joining in if there is an option to join, ok?

((Ooc)) I is backishness!! Light_Azumaril, you remember my plan, don't you? Eh, eh?! Well, this is where it comes into play!! *evil grin* This should be fun.

Oh, and I don't mind Iron Mankey playing my characters. I trust him completely with them. So, if any questions are asked, 'tis all alright.

And now, the fun begins.
((Ic))

Kasumi stood there, completely stunned. She couldn't have said that--it wasn't her. Her silver fur bristled, and her claws dug into the ground. But then again.... There those emotions were; anger, hate, loneliness, jealousy.... Everything she had trained herself to ignore was coming back to her. Thos strong emotions were clouding everything else. It was like a thick blanket being pinned over her--she couldn't move, couldn't breathe...

He laughed. Black Thunder threw back his head and laughed. "You... You really expect me to just leave the Ten?! And give up everything I gained? Give up immortality, attacks that don't even exist... Why, even if I did leave, the Ten would hunt me down!! I--"

Apparently, the charged attack Zapp had ready couldn't be witheld. It built up on him, no matter how hard he tried to hold it in. Then, he shocked himself, and flew into the air, rocketing towards Black Thunder. They both tumbled over the cliff in a series of yelps and bright flashes of electricity.

"Zapp!!" Kasumi dashed toward the edge of the rocks, picking him up ut of the air with her mind. She watched, horrified, and Black Thunder flailed his legs around, bounced off the stones, and fell into the dark waters below, disappearing.

Black Thunder was no more.

((Ooc)) But, that's not the end of major villans I have planned. Bwauhahaha, you shall see, you shall see....

OOC: Yeah, um, sorry Nigma.

Well, at least someone has something planned... my brain seems to have been fried by too much school and stress.... -_-

"Zapp!" I yelled, seeing what had just taken place, "Kasumi! Can you--?!" But Kasumi had already snatched Zapp back from out of the air, bringing the little Pichu back to safety.

The little pokemon was annoying, but I would never wish him dead. And Black Thunder...

"Is he... gone? Dead?" I asked, looking over the cliff.

Rave and Acuro leaned over too.

"I think so, no pokemon I know could ever survive a fall like that. I don't care what awesome powers the Ten gave him," Rave said, shaking his head, "But I don't care what happens to him so long as he's gone forever."

I shook my head too, "Such a waste... if only he would have joined our side. But I agree with you Rave, he deserved to have his life ended. So much pain and suffering he caused...." I looked back over to Kasumi, Zapp, and Orkairn.

"Hey," I said, walking up to them, "Are you guys okay? That was a lot of emotions to handle back there...," I trailed off and looked at Kasumi, who seemed to have taken on the most even despite Orkairn's outburst, "Kasumi... it's okay, you know, how you felt back there. I would have felt the same if I had witnessed his destruction firsthand rather than just hearing about it."

She had been a bit scary, but that was over now. Right? Well, no matter, she was still my friend, and I'd hear nothing of her feeling upset about raging back there.

"Right....I.... We should get going," Kasumi muttered, placing Zapp on the ground gently. There was suddenly a sound like a gunshot, and he flew up in the air again, only to land heavily on his head. "Ack!! Zapp, I'm sorry! Are you okay, I--" Everyone was watching her. Those emotions of hate began coming back. Kasumi turned around, walking away from them. She could hardly control her powers at this moment. What was going on...?

"I'm okay!!" Zapp said, jumping to his feet.

"Oh, darn," Rave mumbled, and Chiira shot a look of annoyance at him.

Soorya remain quiet. Something was wrong with Kasumi. She could figure out what it was, though. They darkness she had managed to keep hidden within herself was seeping out. "I think we should let Orkairn lead us to his power. Kasumi and I will go with him. Who else will?" The Gardevoir asked, looking over everyone.

So...That is the end of the notorious Black Thunder. Even as Orkairn gazed down upon Black's watery grave, he was still rather stunned at what just happened; How? How could one be so blind? To set ones sights so carelessly upon powers far beyond them- only to not see the peril right before them... What kind of world did they live in?

Soorya's voice brought him back to the present.
<I think we should let Orkairn lead us to his power. Kasumi and I will go with him. Who else will?>

He looked at the two female psychics. True, he said to himself, he had not lost everything, afterall; his friends were still with him- He musn't ever forget that.

He looked behind him, back towards the human settlement of Lilycove. He had been here before, he knew that, but not when- it was too long ago. But his power lay hidden here somewhere, and it was his duty to find it.

Something- an unknown voice- but not a strangers- called to him from the deep. Already? He thought. It was his power, he knew it- but he was weary, and maybe even a little afraid of what was awaiting him- he hesitated, took one last look down the perilous cliffs, and then turned back to his companions. He stiffened his resolve- his time was now.

<I'm going. I know where my power is. Those of you who wish to come, may- but it is by no means neccessary. After a long journey- only to be followed by such a confrontation- it is perfectly normal to desire rest.> At that, he set off. But after two paces he stopped and turned to them again, a small smile upon his scarred face. <Oh-and sorry for ordering you all around earlier like that. Old habit.> He then resumed his heavy march towards the city. And towards his past, present, and future.

OOC: And so I adjourn myself from the story for another session of academic tomfoolery. See yas all later! BTW, Dark-Espeon, love your new siggy! Bippity Boppity Boo ****aaaaaaas!!! Roflz. :P

OOC: Oh I love it too! I'm a big Harry Potter fan. ^-^ Can't wait for the seventh book to come out! Though it's sorta bittersweet considering it'll be the last.

"Well I'm not just sitting around after all that; I'm going to help in any way possible," I said to the three, feeling a bit restless. Something was in the air, and it was making me a bit nervous, but it was hard for me to tell what it was. Just a feeling....

Rave looked to the small Pichu that still looked alive and bouncy, "You going with them too?" he asked Zapp.

Zapp gave him a big smile.

"Well then I'm staying behind," he said, sitting down.

I gave him a reproachful look, "Oh Rave, come on now I--!"

"He's annoying and I'm tired!" Rave snapped, not wanting to hear anymore about it, "Besides, it'll give me some time to think on where my power would be...." He scrunched his face up trying to think about it.

"Don't think too hard," I said to him with a smile; Zapp nodded fervently.

"Yeah, or your head will explode!" he said cheerfully, "Actually, that would be really funny! Do it! Do it!!"

"Shut him up before I eat him!!" Rave yelled, making a step towards the Pichu. I shook my head.

"Well then let's go," I said to them, "Acuro, John, Zukra, since you guys have your powers already, watch over each other and Rave too. He doesn't have his yet, and so he's a bit more vulnerable than you three."

I looked to Lilycove, hoping this would go smooth since our encounter with Black Thunder had not.

I looked everyone was going to go their own way... I saw Orkrain going to Lilycove... and Chiira was following him. I didn't know what to do... I saw how Black Thunder disappeared... it was shocking. I was tired... everyone was so... sad... or angry... too many emotions... I went to the rooftop of a building and lay down.

So many memories..... They were overwhelming... Kasumi's head hurt. It felt like her gem was pulsing. Everything was in pain. She was tired and weary--but she refused to back out on Orkairn, especially after how he stood up to Black for her.

Random object flew in the air, one almost landing on Chiira. I... I can't control it... The fear... the hate... the anger... It's clouding my vision and sending off signals I don't mean to. Ergh, I don't know what to do....

"HIYA!!!"

"GAHK!!"

Kasumi jumped, almost tripping over her tail. She fell through a crumbling wall halfway, and eventually regained her balence. Everyone stopped turned quickly when she looked up at them, as though they were worried what she might do next.

"What is it, Zapp?" Kasumi sighed. They're afraid of me...

Zapp seemed to look downright upset about something. He had a mission, and now was the only time to complete it, when the others were out of earshot and lost within their own thoughts. The pichu's ears flattened against his head. How was he going to start this off?

"Kasumi... They can bring Kiki back."

Kasumi stopped dead where she stood. The others kept walking. Pebbles rose into the air, hovering at eye level with the stunned Espeon until they flew off in different directions.

".....Who?" She already knew the answer.

"The....the Terrible Ten. They can bring her back."

"Why would I join those *******s?!?! They're who I'm trying to kill!!!"

"They could bring her back."

"So?!"

"Don't you want to be with her again?"

"WHAT?!"

"They can bring her back," Zapp repeated, then scampered off. Kasumi was frozen. Eventually, she was able to move again, and ran to catch up to her friends, ideas forming in her mind.

"I hope we can find your power and get out quickly Orkairn," I said to the old Crawdaunt, he seemed to have aged more than I throught this whole ordeal.

I had been trying my best to ignore anything that Kasumi was doing, but it was proving difficult, seeing as objects from around me kept colliding with places my head had just been in. At one point I ran away from a flying boulder that was roughly the size of my leaf.

"Kasumi!" I snapped, turning around to face her, but she had fallen through a wall and all of my annoyance evaporated. I looked at her with a worried expression; what scared me the most was the look on her own face. She seemed to swim in and out of focus and appeared to have little to no control over her own self.

I turned around and began to think quickly to myself. Something had to be done about Kasumi, she was a danger to us, and most important of all, a danger to herself. There must be something we could do for her....

I shook my head in silent worry, and then looked to Soorya.

"Is there anything we can do about Kasumi?" I asked her in a low voice. Kasumi didn't need to hear me saying this.

She shook her head slowly, "I don't think so... her powers are so out of control that I don't think I could contain them. I could try, but...."

"That's alright Soorya, thanks for the offer, but I guess we'll just have to deal with her the way we have been already," I sighed, conitnuing my pace.

I saw everyone was walking to some place... I sighed and told them "I will be just right here.... just think of me if you need me or whatever". I lay down again and looked at the sky. Already night and the stars were shining a lot. "the sky is more beautiful from the surface than from the depths of the sea" I expressed.

Orkairn marched on. And on. He seemed to know exactly where he was going, despite whole building missing or crumbling. A little rag doll floated past Kasumi--her thoughts were instantly on Kiki. She used to have one similar to that one, the only possesion from her real family... She picked it up out of the air using her tail. It coiled around the dolls middle.

Kiki.....What do I do?

I have returned.
Glad to see you guys kept the story moving during my much-longer-than-expected-absence. Not going to post a new installment just yet, since the hour grows late, and I work tomorrow morning- but I promise to do so within the next 24 hours, lest I be incinerated by a billion Charizards.
