I remember the first time I beat the champion Cynthia is Pokemon Pearl. I'm not sure how many tries it took, but I believe I won on a crit or some dumb luck. And then the credits rolled, and all I could think was "Finally! This took a whole month to do!"

Flash forward eight years and I've beaten the Elite Four in Pearl 36 times now with multiple different parties of Pokemon. It's become a sort of rite of passage for all my Pokemon to be the next entries in the Hall of Fame.

What are you memories of fighting the Elite Four, either for the first time or the fiftieth?

My first Elite Four challenge will always be my favorite. I remember how nervous I was as the music set the tension in the atmosphere, along with the inevitable "click" of the gate closing behind you. It was literally like treading into uncharted territory. Every Pokemon that was sent out intimidated me, from the height in levels and the moves that they used (especially in the Champion battle). It felt great finally completing the challenge and having the credits roll, leaving you to wonder what happens next.

The first time I ever got to the elite four was in Gold and back then I wasn't the smartest Pokemon trainer ever >~< I had a level 80+ Red Gyarados that swept through the game and a Meganium that had just evolved. I was confident going in.

I had barely beaten the elite four and I figured that Lance wouldn't be that much harder. I could not have been more wrong xD It took me over six tries to beat him and when I finally did, I felt an exhilaration I couldn't describe to you. It was just awesome :P

Oh and singing the song in the credits of XY was awesome. Best end credits ever xD

A similar thing happened to me in FireRed. It took me FOREVER to beat the Elite Four, mostly because I had nothing super effective against Lance's dragons. I was always to scared to go back because of how much they mopped the floor with me the previous times.

Finally beating Gary was so satisfying, even if I had won on a critical hit, it didn't really matter how I won.

Cynthia is as brutal as ever, be it the first match or whatever match it is.

Additionally Phoebe's jolly attire can be deceiving in RS. Wow those Dusclops really kill if you aren't paying attention!

the first elite four/champion i defeated was on silver. honestly i was so ****ing happy i can't even explain. i felt really excited after i won against steven and cynthia too. past that i stopped getting excited, tear tear.

Drake was one of the toughest Elite Four members I've ever had to deal with. To get through him, it had taken me about six to eight attempts, but did feel a sense of accomplishment once I was able to manage. Same goes for Lance.

Lance is by far the most challenging in-game trainer I've faced. Every other champion and elite four member didn't pose any problems for me, but Lance almost stomped on my character's dreams. I was so desperate in that battle, lmao. It dragged on for so long due to my stalling with Revives and other healing items.

At the time I challenged the Elite Four, my team was actually under-leveled, so it makes sense that I struggled, haha. Lance's Dragonites were so goddamn annoying in particular. They haunted me for a good while.
