I have all three rods in Emerald (although I don't know if that makes any difference with my question)... I'm trying to catch a Wailmer with the Super Rod. I rarely get any bites and when I do it says ....you have a bite! or something like that. I press A then it says it again and I press A. I always lose whatever I have! I've only ever been able to catch one thing with a rod the whole game! And I've been trying for about an hour to catch a darn Wailmer! What am I doing wrong?

Yes, you just have to keep pushing A every time it says bite. Eventually, the fight will start, unless you're too slow.
