End of Road for Chimchar & Paul?

    I've seen the screencaps on Serebii for the tag team epsidoe proceeding Chimchar VS Zangoose! Battle of Fate!, and it looks like Chimchar's gonna get dumped.

    So what do you hypothesise will happen? Will our little fire monkey be jilted horribly, and find solace in Ash ad his friends? Or will our heartless purple head show some sense to keep little Chimchar?
     
    I actually hope Chimchar evolves and then turns on Paul afterward. I'd just love to see the look on his face after getting burned by an evolved Chimchar. Like saying, '---- you! I'm not taking your crap anymore. I'm not a baby you can push around anymore.'

    As they say, treat your dogs with respect or else they might bite you one day.

    Losing Chimchar that way could be a major wake-up call for the guy.

    Don't know if Nintendo would be that intelligent though. But weirder things have happened. After all, we've finally got a 'teen'-rated Zelda game.

    I will say that if I were in charge of the Anime, that's what I'd do.

    And just to remind you, I don't hate Paul's character. I think it's great. I just don't foresee Nintendo or Game Freak or whoever's the owner of Pokemon this month actually keeping his character like that. I will be very happy if I'm wrong about this, but I doubt I am.

    Actually, I'd like to think Chimmy would be non-responsive to him. That way, he'll get his butt blasted. Heh.

    Considering that Paul's been at this for a while, I doubt he'll change overnight. Probably after tons of fillers, he'll get a clue, I guess.
     
    maybe Chimchar will evolve by Ash and when Ash battles Paul,Ash might finnaly win or lose.....

    Paul must love his Torterra though. (is it even his)
     
    It is the end of Paul and Chimchar. Look at the "DP 51-54 Episode Summaries" thread. Unless they're fake. >_>
     
    Well if Ash does get Chimchar the only prohblem is what water type Ash is gonan get, but I digress.

    This was bound to happen eventually. Chimchar isn't weak per se, but needs training. Paul hates training thus this was an inevitiblity.
     
    Well after seeing the episode title that Serebii release on Sunday, The Tears of Chimchar and what I saw from the pics from past week and the title for the upcoming episode I am thinking that Paul is going to get rid of his chimchar. I mean he didn't really seem happy with it recently. I mean he looked really upset back in the Cynthia episode and even more in this one.

    Still I been predicting this from the very beginning of the Diamond and Pearl season that Paul will release Chimchar and Ash will adobt it so it would be his fire type pokemon. I mean I only predict it from what I saw but it seems that after every appearence of Paul and Chimchar that it is pointing in that direction. I hope I don't sound bragy but that is what I been thinking. Teehehee

    Considering people were right about the whole Chimchar debate, The Aipom > Buizel trade seems more and more likely...

    Yeah but Aipom is back up Pikachu, he can't give her up. I mean like Buizel likes Dawn and Aipom LOVES Ash. Maybe borrowing, but not trading.
     
    Yes, but Aipom loves them Contests, so I wouldn't rule out trading. Anyway, I guess the "Let's spread out the starters" mode of writing is done. So, that does that mean he'll eventually get a Piplup?

    Unless they trade Buizel for Aipom, they'll rehash the starter plots like it's 1998, again. :tired:

    Alright so Bulbapedia and Pocketmonsters.net reeled the new titles to be
    Aipom and Buizel! Their respective roads! Now I know what your thinking "OMG TRADEZ!!!!!!111" But, let's discuss this first.

    Well, people are assuming Turtwig won't evolve, even though, there is no indication of that. And, yeah, Bulbapedia speculated on the Piplup Squad, too.

    Actually, that would be kinda idiotic, unless they head for GL number 7, as ice is her shtick. So, a pack of penguins would fit with such frozen terrain, I guess....

    Agreed. It's tacky, actually.

    I think they wrote themselves in a hole with this. I like the Chammy angle, but then, why bother giving him the Turtwig in the first place? Besides, be better off with Brock, who hasn't done a Grass type. So, it's just another lack of foresight, I suppose.

    So, the best conclusion would be to skip the Water starter, and to heck with this "pattern." With the way things are coming up, who knows what the writers will do next?
     
    The writers, could have made Chimchar befreind Brock. I mean like then it would make things so much easier. I mean Ash doesn't have to have Piplup, but then it would be an odd looking team.
