Well, this was one of my first battles on Shoddy, and my first log. Enjoy!

My team (in order of appearance): Starmie, Kingdra, Jolteon, Suicune, Ludicolo, Gyarados.

Rules: Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Sleep Clause, Species Clause

    Sparkling Dragon sent out Starmie
    ubersarsh sent out Forretress
    Starmie used Surf.
Forretress lost 61% of its health.
    Forretress used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team!
Forretress's leftovers restored 6% of its health.

Basically, I was hoping for some nice neutral STAB here, which is exactly what I got. I knew Starmie was faster than Forretress, so I saved my Rapid Spinning till the next turn. But...

    ubersarsh switched in Dusknoir
    Dusknoir is exerting its pressure!
    Starmie used Rapid Spin.
    It doesn't affect Dusknoir...

Most annoying. Basically, I can't get rid of SR till I kill this thing, and I don't get the feeling it plans to switch any time soon. Oh well. Hopefully, I can 2KO it.

    Starmie used Surf.
Dusknoir lost 33% of its health.
    Dusknoir used Pain Split.
Dusknoir restored 11% of its health.
Starmie lost 13% of its health.

Unfortunately, I forgot I hadn't set up Rain Dance yet. I should still be able to wear it down fairly quickly, though, so I decided to hit it again. To quote Misty, "my strategy is an all-out offensive with Water-type Pokémon!" Yes, I am sad for remembering that.

    ubersarsh switched in Metagross
    Starmie used Surf.
Metagross lost 43% of its health.
Metagross's leftovers restored its health a little!
Metagross restored 6% of its health.

Yay! Metagross doesn't have the Special Defense of a Dusknoir. He was probably expecting me to switch to Ttar or something. Time to set up that Rain Dance.

    Starmie used Rain Dance.
    Rain began to fall!
    Metagross used Thunderpunch.
    It's super effective!
    A critical hit!
Starmie lost 182% of its health.
    Sparkling Dragon's Starmie fainted.
    The rain continues to fall.
Metagross's leftovers restored 6% of its health.

Ouch. I didn't see that coming. I'm expecting Agiligross here, perhaps, so I send in Kingdra to Swift Swim ahead.

    Score. 6-5 to ubersarsh

    Sparkling Dragon switched in Kingdra
    Pointed stones dug into Kingdra.
Kingdra lost 12% of its health.
    Kingdra used Surf.
Metagross lost 49% of its health.
    Metagross used Thunderpunch.
Kingdra lost 35% of its health.
    The rain continues to fall.
Metagross's leftovers restored 6% of its health.

Ow, Stealth Rock and Thunderpunch takes out nearly half of Kingdra's health. I predicted a switch here, but went with Surf anyway, just in case he second-guessed himself and went to something like Tyranitar.

    ubersarsh switched in Empoleon
    Kingdra used Surf.
    It's not very effective...
Empoleon lost 26% of its health.
    The rain continues to fall.

Well, that's not too bad, considering it resists Water. Time to switch, although I know he'll switch as soon as he sees this.

    Sparkling Dragon switched in Jolteon
    Pointed stones dug into Jolteon.
Jolteon lost 12% of its health.
    Empoleon used Substitute.
Empoleon lost 25% of its health.
    Empoleon made a substitute!
    The rain continues to fall.
Jolteon's leftovers restored 6% of its health.

SR. Hate, hate, hate. I didn't notice the sub here, unfortunately, so I went...

    Jolteon used Thunder.
    It's super effective!
The substitute took damage for Empoleon!
    Empoleon's substitute faded!
    Empoleon used Brine.
    A critical hit!
Jolteon lost 132% of its health.
    Sparkling Dragon's Jolteon fainted.
    The rain stopped.

I hate hax. On top of that, my Rain is gone, so no Swift Swim.

    Score: 6-4 to ubersarsh

Well, looking pretty crappy so far. At this point, I was a total noob to Shoddy, and experimenting with teams. Notice Starmie didn't have Damp Rock etc.

    Sparkling Dragon switched in Suicune
    Suicune is exerting its pressure!
    Pointed stones dug into Suicune.
Suicune lost 12% of its health.
    Empoleon used Substitute.
Empoleon lost 25% of its health.
    Empoleon made a substitute!
    Suicune used Roar.
    ubersarsh switched in Forretress
Suicune's leftovers restored 6% of its health.
Forretress's leftovers restored 6% of its health.

I made him waste ¼ HP, which is always good. Now I'm facing a weakened Forretress, so STAB time. I could have set up another Rain Dance, but offense is the best defence, as everybody knows, right?

    Suicune used Surf.
Forretress lost 45% of its health.
    Forretress used Stealth Rock.
    But it failed!
Suicune's leftovers restored 6% of its health.
Forretress's leftovers restored 6% of its health.

Dummy either forgot he had SR up, or didn't know it doesn't stack like Spikes. Oh well, free hit.

    ubersarsh switched in Metagross
    Suicune used Rain Dance.
    Rain began to fall!
    The rain continues to fall.
Metagross's leftovers restored 6% of its health.

Now I hit the Rain Dance. Metagross was a surprise. I expected something with full health, even if he had nothing that resisted Water. Tsk, tsk. Completely substandard strategy there.
    Then again, he is winning.

    Suicune used Surf.
Metagross lost 42% of its health.
    ubersarsh's Metagross fainted.
    The rain continues to fall.

BOOM! Points on the board. A switch would have been pointless, so maybe he just wanted the free switch. Or perhaps Metagross was set to Explode.

    Score: 5-4 to ubersarsh

    ubersarsh switched in Ninjask
    Ninjask used Protect.
    Ninjask protected itself!
    Suicune used Ice Beam.
    Ninjask protected itself!
    The rain continues to fall.
Ninjask's Speed Boost raised its speed!

I hate Ninjask. I cannot tell you how much. Suffice it to say that if it were possible, I would find every Ninjask in existence and stomp on it, revelling in the crunch beneath my shoes. Except my dear little Zephyr. <3 Zephyr. Anyway, they are epic stallers. In fact, I am surprised he didn't lead with it.

    Ninjask used Substitute.
Ninjask lost 25% of its health.
    Ninjask made a substitute!
    Suicune used Ice Beam.
    It's super effective!
The substitute took damage for Ninjask!
    Ninjask's substitute faded!
    The rain continues to fall.
Ninjask's Speed Boost raised its speed!

Gah. Stall, stall, stall. I'm predicting another Protect here, but just in case...

    Ninjask used Protect.
    Ninjask protected itself!
    Suicune used Ice Beam.
    Ninjask protected itself!
    The rain stopped.
Ninjask's Speed Boost raised its speed!

    Same thing again...

    Ninjask used Protect.
    Ninjask protected itself!
    Suicune used Rain Dance.
    Rain began to fall!
    The rain continues to fall.
Ninjask's Speed Boost raised its speed!

And again... might as well set up some more Rain.

    The rain continues to fall.
Ninjask's Speed Boost raised its speed!

And AGAIN. I am starting to get really annoyed with this. At least it's not a Stallrein.

    Ninjask used Baton Pass.
    ubersarsh switched in Empoleon
    Suicune used Ice Beam.
    It's not very effective...
Empoleon lost 5% of its health.
Empoleon's Petaya Berry raised its special attack!
    The rain continues to fall.

Meep. With all that speed under its belt, the penguin could be dangerous. Quite possibly sweeper-dangerous. At least Ninjask didn't manage to pass a Sub.

    Empoleon used Grass Knot.
    It's super effective!
Suicune lost 75% of its health.
    Suicune used Surf.
    It's not very effective...
Empoleon lost 23% of its health.
    ubersarsh's Empoleon fainted.
    The rain continues to fall.
Suicune's leftovers restored 6% of its health.

Suicune is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Suicune lost 6% of its health.
Suicune's leftovers restored 6% of its health.

Shitake mushrooms. Well, we now have a speedy Tyranitar in the game. Not good. It has the Special Defense boost from Sandstorm, and speed from Ninjask. (From now on, Sandstorm damage will not be shown)

    Tyranitar used Stone Edge.
    Tyranitar's attack missed!
    Suicune used Surf.
    It's super effective!
Tyranitar lost 32% of its health.
    The sandstorm rages.
Suicune's leftovers restored 6% of its health.

I love it when Stone Edge misses. That Surf did less than I'd thought. So now what? Do I switch? No, Suicune's had a good run. I'll just try and set up another Rain Dance to boost my team and negate Sandstorm.

    Tyranitar used Stone Edge.
Suicune lost 61% of its health.

YES! *Victory dance* This was my first win on Shoddy, and I was pleased as punch, especially with that epic turnaround. Scarfdos remains the strongest member of my team. I don't recall whether this was a ladder match or not, but it didn't really matter.

    Props:

    -Gyarados' mega comeback sweep
    Epic Battle - vs ubersarsh

    -Suicune killing the other two
    Epic Battle - vs ubersarsh

    Slops:

    -That bloody Ninjask!
-Empoleon and Metagross getting critical hits on my first two members.
-He left before I could say "gg", so he probably thinks I'm an ass now.

That was a nice match, and after that show i will probably try a scarf-dos.
and a large amount of people after a loss, get pissed and blame everything that went wrong on you or hax, is just a part of the game, nice job and keep up the good work :)

That was pretty fun to read. After he got those two quick ko's on Ludicolo and Kingdra I was wondering how the heck you could turn it around.

Well done, that critical hit and flinch really saved you :)

    Good Battle

Rofl at the Arial Ace on TTAR and I believe this was a challenge seeing some of the dmg percentiles went above 100%.

Next time try to change the text to make it more interesting and try adding sprites. It drastically helps the visual-ness >_>

Heh, I had sprites, but...I kinda screwed up the BBcode, and it turned out to be a total mess, so I binned it. ubersarsh, I didn't realise you were on here ^_^ And Charmanderr, ShoddyBattle has a 'Save Log' feature, so no, I didn't have to type it all. I had to go through and do all the colours, though.

Wow, nice battle there. I think I would've given up after he fainted all your Pokemon 'cept Gyarados, but way to turn the tides, ^_^ you were both great. I hope to battle you as soon as my team is complete (still need to finish EV training).
Anyways, you two would make a killer combo in a double battle. =)

You can battle either of us any time you like; this is on ShoddyBattle. Just sign up, punch in the EVs, moves and items you want, and you can battle anyone. PM me if you want to arrange a battle. And I wasn't planning on giving up. That would have made me a bad sport. To quote Fantina, who in turn was quoting Galaxy Quest, "Never give up, never surrender!"

    It was a nice battle.

The formatting was good and easy to read but your comments were lacking, for your future logs elaborate more. Tell us what you were thinking, tell us what you were considering. Outstanding logs put you in the battler's shoes.

For the team, I'd suggest putting sprites up. It works alot better then text ;)

But this was a great log, much better then my first one. Just make your commentary better and I'm sure your next log will be even better.

It was epic because it was fun, because Gyarados turned it around, because it was my first win, and because it was fun. I know I leave much to be desired in the field of skill, but it didn't have to involve superb battling and prediction to be epic, did it?

I don't sincerely see, what there is of epic in this battle. However your adversary had team a very weak to Gyarados.

Eh, it wasn't to terribly bad. You made one mistake:

    Empoleon used Grass Knot.
    It's super effective!
Suicune lost 75% of its health.
    Suicune used Surf.
    It's not very effective...
Empoleon lost 23% of its health.
    ubersarsh's Empoleon fainted.
    The rain continues to fall.
Suicune's leftovers restored 6% of its health.

Only reason Suicune's not dead is because of Empoleon's pitiful Attack. Comparatively, anyway. Grass Knot did mega damage nonetheless, Suicune being quite bulky.

LIES! Explain how attack affected a special attack.
