Eternal Nightmare - [PG-16]

(Um, Aura, brother, I like the idea of brother Lucarios, but I dont like the part of him being evil... I pictured he was more of a caring lucario, although probably teasing sometimes, that they talk often. That's why my SU says he LIKES being around his brother! D: And can you give miley more time than that? She's probably offline at the moment, I'll tell her she needs to add more to it... Please reconsider using evil 'lucifer'...? :( )

Lucifer opened his right eye slowly, stopping his meditation for a few seconds. He turned and looked at the clock. 11:59p.m. It was almost Silver's birthday, he was going to turn sixteen in a few seconds. 54,55,56....59, 12:00am. Lucifer was born three day earlier than his brother, so he's sixteen already.

Happy birthday, brother. Lucifer smiled a little, sending his thought into Silver's mind, wherever he was. They had a close bonding, making it easier to do so. His brother's birthday was the only birthday he remembered, he didn't really care about the others. Birthdays make people feel old, he thought.

Lucifer wanted to sleep, but since the destruction of the Darkrai's Statue, he hadn't slept at all. He had the insomnia curse, and it was making him weaker every day. There weren't any lights out there, the power plants stopped working too. He lit a little candle and placed it next to him, giving him a little light. He didn't know how long he could survive in the city, since their food resources are depleting awfully quickly. Someone has to put an end to this. He told himself, his red eyes glowing in the darkness. But how?

He looked out of the window, but shook his head as he saw nothing. It was too dark to see anything. But his eyes widened a little as he saw a dim light, miles away, on a mountain. It was Darkrai's Castle. For a few seconds, Lucifer was full of rage, and pushed all his things onto the ground.

"We're suffering like this, and HE gets to enjoy everything?" Lucifer shouted, and he was sure his brother could hear him, "He took everything from us! WHAT DOES HE WANT! CURSE YOU DARKRAI!"

Lucifer placed his paw onto his chest and took a deep breath. He had to calm down. He sat on the floor, legs crossed and closed his eyes. Meditating always worked. He lowered his head and felt his aura chanelling in his body, his veins and his blood. His unique purple-black aura was visible now, glowing brightly in the night. At least he was in peace for now, enjoying the quiet moment while he could.

Cain Argonant was awoken by the same dream yet again. It would start out well, but then take a turn for the worst. Cain was not afraid of many things, but what he most feared was lacking in strength, and losing. So his dreams consisted of a constant war being fought, and Cain being unable to defend himself. He would lose and then when it would appear that he was about to die, he would wake up. Cain howled into the night sky, for that was all that could be seen. He had been tired and angry at this curse for far too long. He had no problem with fighting. He was good at it, but losing because one lacks the strength is despicable, at least, in Cain's eyes.

"Perhaps it's time to do something about it." He said out loud to himself. Cain sat up from his laying position. He looked into the distance and spotted light emanating from Darkrai's Castle.

Perhaps. He thought to himself.

It eyed at him menacingly. Volk cowered, his whole body trembling in utter perspiration. He whimpered as the beastly thing tried to strike at him with crooked slimy claws. The thing had horrid decaying breath as if all sorts of odors were fused together in a huge ball of Ghastlys. Then everything shape-shifted as Volk saw himself being plunged into the dark depths of the monster's stomach.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! HEELLLP MEEE!!!!!" The yellow bug jolt awake with his whole body vibrating. The last few bits of that nightmare flashed before his mind and he gasped before calming down. He cautiously got off the bed, and moved off to get a glass of water. It was past midnight and he barely gotten a few hours' of sleep. This whole thing was irritating and really made Volk mad. Why couldn't he get a decent sleep for once?! Why him and him only? Others had insomnia too. There was a pair of Lucario brothers living down the road opposite him, he was sure one of them had insomnia but not quite for the younger. Volk crawled out of the tiny hut which he called home and find a wooden stool to sit on and drink. He carried the tray on his furry back and lifted the cup to his mouth. As he sipped the cooling refreshment, his gaze wandered over the woods and mountains behind Paranoia City and to a large menacing castle that had a foreboding aura around it.
The Joltik shivered slightly before noticing how he was fortunate to be able to retain his light. Out of the thousand houses in this city, Volk was one of the citizens who were able to have their lights on in the houses at night. No one could possibly remove his electric powers from him so he still could regenerate his cottage at night but recently static electricity was rarer to find and more difficult to obtain.

Then there was Darkrai, that bully or so Volk thought. Everyone knew something was on within the pitch-black castle and the mystery of the curses were strange with its origins. Soon, Volk noted, dawn would break the tormenting night for the Paranoia citizens. Soon, his adventure on a quest to resolve this horrible endless nightmare or insomnia would start and hopefully succeed. His feet tingled with excitement, anticipation as well as worry and doubt. But he had to start first and try to go on, no matter what. With that, the Joltik went inside to catch up on a few hours of sleep and wait for the future to present itself...

Julie screamed into the night, unaware she was doing so.Her head jolted up.She breathed heavly. She dreamed of a charizard which contained posion in its claws trying to slice her up.She breathed hard. She always had nightmares, but why?She looked out of the window at Darkri's castle.

"Darkri you little....the pokemon around her otta start a battle against you and u otta get murdered, you don't give a crap about us,and your suppost to be a great king, don't make me laugh."Julie said.

She walked to the kitchen and got a cold glass of water. When she got done she walked to her living room. She was also one of the few who had electricity, thanks to her being a amphoros. She sat down and thought about weither she should go back to sleep or not, fearing she'd have nightmares again. She desided to.She looked at the clock,12:15am.A few hours till she would normally wake up.She laid down and drifted back into sleep.

Cain scurried the pitch-black streets of the city. It only took a matter of days for the city to go from bad to worse. It was times like these that had to make you rely on instinct, something Cain was particularly good at, but with the insomnia/nightmares, even instinct wouldn't be enough. Cain saw a house in the city which was still lighted. It was not always unusual for one or two lucky Pokemon to have the self-sufficient power to keep their own place lighted. Cain half considered breaking into its house and tearing up the place. It was something he was used to doing, as he felt that if he couldn't get any light, no one should be able to.

In the end, Cain decided not to go to the home, as he felt he would need all the strength he can soon. He didn't know why he felt that way, all he knew is he did. Cain walked through the near empty streets, anger continuously filling his heart. He headed for his home, a small, shabby one-room place with all the essentials (minus electricity). He wasn't particularly fond of giant abodes, and quite liked his small cottage. Cain was a bit tired, but knew the nightmares would continue, so he fought the urge to fall asleep. He began pacing in his house, trying to determine what he should do about this. He was getting very, very annoyed with this entire scenario.

Julie woke up screaming again after the same nightmare.
"Screw it."she said standing up.

(she was refering to sleeping). She walked to her window.Maybe she could help with the electricity problem, she stored a lot.She would do it as soon as people got up and moving around, she'd get them electricity. It wasn't fair she could have it and they couldn't.She sat down and began to eat hard cereal by itself,no milk. She wondered how many houses she could get electricity to,probably not many.

Silver was looking around, outside, in pitch black, mostly using his senses to see. He was examining the demolished statue. He was one of the few people who still had faith in Darkrai.

Certainly this is not his fault... And how did the statue just suddenly explode?

He groaned. Nothing made sense. He had nightmares, but he hadn't slept in a week, trying to force his own insomnia, but always knowing that, in the back of his head, it wouldn't work. He couldn't tolerate his nightmares. Creations of the darkest parts of his mind.

"Guess I'll go visit Julie..."

Silver did not know it was his birthday. But he always remembered everyone else's. Lucifer's was only a few days ago. He walked into Julie's room and his eyes widened when he saw her panicking in her sleep. He shook her awake and looked down at her.

"J-Julie, are you okay??"

He held her close to him. Of course she wasn't okay. It was clearly nightmares.

Julie awoke again.

"Oh thank god Silver.I've got to stop falling asleep so suddenly these nightmares are bugging the crap outta me!"Julie said."I'd trade this darned electricity for a decent sleep,no nightmares or anything included with them.Which reminds me,don't you and your brother need electricity?"

Lucifer opened his eyes again and looked at his candle. It was almost out now, so he had been meditating for quite a while. Time seemed to fly when he was in extreme focus. He didn't know if Silver recieved that message so he sent it again as he closed his eyes, his black appendages behind his back covering his eyes like a blindfold.

When he was done, he got up, ignoring the numbness, since he's sat there for quite a while, and blew out the candle. Pitch black once again. He walked towards Silver's room, next to his, and opened the door slowly. It creaked open, but there was nobody inside. Strange. He was probably out.

Lucifer decided to stroll around town, to see if there was anything strange or exciting. A ball of red aura appeared in his right palm as he walked outside. He used the ball of Aura as a lamp so he could see, but only a little, since it was weak. He saw a house, and frowned. Electricity? But then he frowned as an Electric pokemon probably lived there, thus explaining the electricity. But the power shortage wasn't really the largest problem right now. No electricity meant no light, no food production, no media, no water supply, no everything.

Silver where are you? Lucifer frowned and looked around. He didn't want to find his aura, he wasn't really in the mood, and he was tired...the curse...a real pain.

Silver hugged her tightly and sighed.

"I know... I haven't slept in days..."

It was somewhat obvious, because there were bags under his eyes.

"And yeah, we do need power. But so does everyone..."

He stood up, holding her paw in his, urging her up to come with him.

"Come on, brother's probably looking for me..."

Julie stood up,grabbed her purse, put ducktape and a small pocket knife in it for later opperations, and fallowed Silver out.It was dark, she made electricity with her paw,she knew he'd probably make a aura ball, but she knew the more light the better. She held her paw up to see the area.

"Don't you think if he's found your not home he's probably outside looking around for you,or do you think he's still at home?"Julie asked Silver lifting her paw high to see further.

She saw the broken statue in the distance. She kind of personally wished it was the real Darkri, with how he wasn't doing anything to help his towns people.

"AHHHHHHH!" Saphyre screamed, her eyes opening. She had had her nightmare again. "Stupid, stupid." Saphyre scoled herself. She was sitting in her small kitchen. Saphyre had been trying to stay awake. She had been walking around her house and trying to keep herself awake. She must have sat down and fallen asleep. Saphyre gasped quickly as she tried to get air. This always happened, her nightmare left her gasping for air. It felt like a giant hand had wrapped itself around her neck and then started squeezing. No matter how hard Saphyre tried she couldn't get air into her body. Her lungs felt like they were on fire, Saphyre bent down and put her head between her knees. This helped a little, she could breath a little. Saphyre stayed in that position for a couple minutes. After the couple minutes she lifted her head back up. Her breathing was almost completely normal, except for the occasional gasp for air.

Saphyre looked around her small home. It wasn`t much, just a couple small rooms connected to each other. It was home to her, she's had this house seen she was little. Saphyre got off the chair and slowly moved to a counter. She walked slowly, because Saphyre didn't want to bring the suffocating back. Saphyre looked at a candle that sat there. The candle was a dull white color and it was almost burnt to nothing. It looked like there was only a foot left of it. Saphyre had put glass over it so it couldn't be blown out. She didn't know if she could find another match in the dark. Saphyre sighed. She didn't have electricity, almost nobody did. Those that did have electricity, were electric types that had made it themselves. Saphyre watched the orange and yellow candle flame dance as she thought. Darkrai was suppose to be a just king. The thought mad Saphyre laugh, which made her start coughing. After a couple minutes the coughing stopped. Her breathing wasn't normal yet, doing anything that wasn't walking or talking made her cough. Saphyre was so sick of these nightmares. Nightmares had strucken a lot of Pokemon and some had insomnia. Everyone was getting weaker and weaker. Their sleep wasn't the only thing being affected. Most had to live in the dark like bats. And no electricity meant no food or water production. Great, Saphyre thought. We have choices on how to die.

Saphyre shook her head to get out of her doom and gloom thoughts. She walked across her kitchen and then out. Connected to her kitchen was a small room, it probably was only big enough to fit a couple decent sized Pokemon in it. Saphyre sighed softly, she was use to walking around in the dark. She hasn't had electricity for a couple weeks. In the room was a small candle that light up a couple feet radius around it. Anything else was covered in pitch black. However, the candle's light was out shined by a much brighter light, that came from outside. Saphyre didn't have to look, she knew what the light was. It was the light from Darkrai's castle. The light always shines into her window at night. Saphyre was tired of this, she wanted to get to the bottom of this Darkrai's curse business. If Darkrai actually cared about his people, why would he do such terrible things to them? Saphyre thought, looking at Darkrai's castle which was off in the distance. Greed. This is all about greed. Saphyre thought sadly shaking her head.

Silver glanced at the statue sadly.

"He's rather impatient, he'll probably be out looking..."

His eyes flickered amber and his aura sense was flickering, and he found Lucifer.

"There he is... Quick, put out the light!"

As the light ended he snuck up on Lucifer, and tackle-hugged his brother, knocking him to the ground.

"Found you first!"

He laughed a little and got off so his brother could stand. He went back to holding Julie's hand, facing Lucifer, waiting for him to speak.

Julie closed her hand making the light dissappear and watched Silver. She smiled. She always got shy around people, else she knew them. She slowly walked towards the two brothers.

"Hi Lucifer."Julie said kind of smiling.

She didn't know about Lucifer, but a few of the local people didn't like her because she had electricity. She didn't see how it matttered, that didn't mean she could make food or water or make her nightmares go away.

"I know how to get electiricty for your guy's house if you want it."Julie said, with a shyly quiet voice.

Silver, still holding her paw, turned to her.

"It might be much but... Have you ever considered trying to go to the Power Plant? I mean, to power the city... Maybe if there are other electric types, and everyone pitched in, we could keep the whole city lit..."

He reached down with his other paw to pull Lucifer up off of the ground.

(Ooc:I made a picture of Julie,edited the colors of a amphoros I mean https://miley.imgur.com/recolorised_pokemon)

"Well there are only a couple here with electric abilities."Julie said."But maybe the few that are could at some point. It needs to be soon though, before we loose our energy from lack of sleep. But no ones up yet I don't think.Should I just do your house or should we ignore the fact I can do it for now?"

Julie smiled at Silver. Then she looked at Lucifer. She always felt like she was bardging in when she was with him.
