Never before have we had these kind of attacks in this way. Before you could get Special Event Pokemon with exclusive attacks, such as a Darkrai with both Roar of Time and Spacial Rend, Dialga and Palkia's signature attacks.

Introduced in Generation 6, we have TWO new attacks exclusively hidden away as Event Exclusive Attacks.

Happy Hour, which was distributed (or to be distributed) with a Special Inkay in Japan, increases the amount of money you get after battle. Doubling the reward, so it basically takes a move slot for Amulet Coin/Luck Incense.

Overall a waste of a move so I'm not that upset about it personally. It be a really awesome move to give to a Meowth or Purrloin with Pay Day, though whether or not it stacks with the items is a mystery (assuming that since the items don't stack neither would the attack with the items).

Hold Back, which is to be distributed world wide through the use of the PokeBank assuming you use/download it before September 30th of 2014, is an unknown typed False Swipe variant. This one annoys me as if it ISN'T Normal typed then there is but one way to get the only possible attack to work on Ghost type Pokemon and leave them with 1 HP without exploiting a combo or ability. It can be useful for those that want to catch Ghost Pokemon with little effort, leaving them at 1 HP.

Second gripe...What the hell is with these names. Its bad enough we have Return. Can you imagine them using any of these in the Anime. Trainer shouts "Pokemon, Return!" Pokemon doesn't switch out but instead bashes its opponent in. Use return sounds so trippy too. Now we get to hear them say Use Happy Hour! (so wrong XD) or Use Hold Back, "Pokemon, Hold Back!".

Could have had some better names.

What do you think of these two new attacks?

What do you think about the idea of moves being exclusive to events distributions and possibly not being able to pass them around to other Pokemon other than Smeargle?

What do you hope appears as an Event Exclusive Attack? What kinda attack, no so much name it as describe what it would do.

Does Happy Hour stack with held items? If so, it could be a good money making tool.

I don't know what to think about Hold Back, except it'll be very useful on Smeargle, especially if it's a type that can hit all other types.

And There's Light of Ruin that people found about via Hotel Richissime job; currently no one knows what this move does.

Diancie, Volcanion, and Hoopa also seem to have their own signature moves as well, though I forgot their name and what those attacks do. (though I believe Volcanion has a stronger version of Scald)

Happy Hour stacks with Amulet Coin/Luck Incense and Prize Money O-Power. We still aren't sure if stacks with Pay Day too (considering that they are different moves). We'll find that out once PokeBank's released. It saves so much time if you're grinding for money. You can get back the money used on Writs within a few battles.

they surely would sound weird in the anime; it's like giving them double meaning
using returm to returm it to the pokeball or attack with the move; hold back for not attacking having mercy of the opponent or for using the attack to deal damage unless the hp of the opponent is already to 1.
Words have different meaning depending on how you use them.

In previous generations pay day effect stacked with amulet coin and pass powers, luck insence having the same effect; having multiple amulet coins and/or luck insence would not stack the effects, meaning the effect only applies to the first one that is used.
probably happy hour and payday have the same effects this generation with the held ítems and powers.
but we will still have to see if using payday along with happy hour would stack.

I actually want to get my hands on an Inkay with Happy Hour. Since, yes, it does stack with other items of the same nature (or so Bulbapedia says) which would definitely make money making really easy. I can easily spend more than 500k Poke Dollars in one shopping spree, so anything to help me farm money is a welcome addition in my book.

As for the names of the moves, I'm going to agree that they do sound weird if they were to be said as a command.

Honestly, the two moves just seem like more updated copies of older movies (Pay Day and False Swipe) than anything else; they don't feel special. Also, who's to say they'll stay event exclusive? There have been a lot of Pokémon in the past with exclusive moves of their own, but end up being given to other Pokémon in the next version or generation after.

As for the names, there are literally millions of words with double meanings and it all depends on how you use them. These two, like Return, are no different.
