    xDD one time when I was 9 I practically cleaned the shelves of target. It was my birthday and my grandma gave me 60 dollars. Wooo that was a field day. xDDD

    so have you gone broke because of pokemon? or are your parents tired of buying pokemon for you? xDD

    Lol my parents bought them for me.
    i got all the games.. for every system lol but i dont play the ones like Pokemon XD or pokemon mystery dungeon. i just like the legit ones lol

    I'm actually broke right now because of Pokémon merchandise. I bought one of those Pokémon Special Edition Game Boy Colors (the silver/gold one that changes colour in the light) from eBay. But I kinda got embroiled in a bidding war 'cause it's new in its box and ended up paying twice what I budgeted for it. >_> STILL, VICTORY IS MIIIIIIINE. mwaha.

    I haven't got broke yet from purchasing Pokemon merchandise but I am looking to buy Pokemon Series 1-9 and its around $400.

    No I have never gone broke because of buying pokemon merchandise.

    I've never gone broke, but I do remember having like 500 cards. Good times. :)

    I feel like a loser saying this, but my mom always buys me my pokemon games. Randomly too, but its a nice surprise. :)

    My parents always used to buy the games for me when I was little. They were the only things they ever had to buy me, and they kept me quiet and amused all day every day for years. I guess it was well worth the money. All my figurines and plushes (I had a lot of Pokemon figurines, I would guess I had about 230 by the time I stopped collecting) came from birthday/Christmas/random other occasions. Come to think of it, the only toys and games I owned as a kid were Pokemon merchandice.
    Now that I'm older I buy the games myself, but they don't cost too much so it's not that big of a deal. I don't collect the figurines or plushies anymore (although I will pick up a Kecleon, Lickitung, Tropius, Shellos or Tangela if I ever run into them. Most of the reason I don't collect anymore is because figurines and plushies are harder to find now-a-days.) Most of that money gets spent on clothes, ramen and pizza.
    Ah, how time flies.

    I used to blow every buck (my Mom and) I had on Pokemon cards:D I even bought a base holo Charizard:O My niece drew one out of a pack the same day at random. I was like wow...... but yeah I spent plenty of allowance on Pokemon...

    No. But I had to debate long and hard before buying Platinum because I was running very low on cash at the time. If I'm in the same precarious financial situation this coming spring, I won't be getting HG/SS.

    if there was something I wanted when I was younger (like a stuffed pokemon, cards, or video) I had to save my allowence for it, and I was ALWAYS broke because of it! Every other week when I got my seven dollars I begged my mom to take me to target, and I'd spend it all in like 10 minutes (: Every time there was a parent/teacher conference, if my teacher said I was doing good, I got a game or a few packs of cards. Every November was the best, because my mom and I did Christmas Craft shows when I was little; one year I made enough to buy a GBA with Charizard n the front (: but yeah... I never have money because of pokemon!

    I've... spent a few hundred dollars more than I intended to on Pokemon stuff this year 'cause of Gizamimi Pichu and the release of HGSS meaning Pichu got a toooon of merch and I couldn't resist on a lot of it. ;_;' Gotta watch my money a LOT more than I normally do as a result. So no, I haven't gone broke over collecting merch (I do budget and will always make sure I have enough for rent, groceries, etc.) but I've pretty much run my "other stuff" budget dry with Pokemon stuff and video games. x_X;

    When I was a kid, my mom used to buy me a ton of pokemon merchandise, she never became broke, but pretty darn close, haha.

    Oh God yes. Back when I was younger and I started playing TCG, I spent all the money I had on pokemon cards for about a year and a half. I kind of wish I would have sold them back then and made some money off that investment.. instead they were lost in a move :(
