Just out of curiosity, what is everyone expecting from a Ruby/ Sapphire Gen 3 remake? From the Gen 1 remake of Red/ Blue/ Green (Jp), we got Fire Red/ Leaf Green, and in that, there was an expansion to the Sevii Islands and obtainable Johto Pokemon, new stat system, updated movesets; and carry-over genders, friendship, and breeding from Gen 2. Also, a GBA wireless adapter was included with the games, when they were first released; to allow trading between FR/ LG/ S/ R/ & E without a Link cable.

With the remake of Silver and Gold with Heart Gold & Soul Silver came the split of physical/ special moves, foreign pokedex entries, Pal Park, the battle Frontier; radio stations Hoenn and Sinnoh sound, Photograghy, the Global Terminal in Goldenrod City, walking Pokemon, Poke'athalon, and 2 new routes (47 and 48). Like its predecessor, it also came bundled with a bonus device- the Poke'Walker, which allowed players to store 1 Pokemon and walk with it, like a pedometer, which would raise that Pokemon's exp.; as well as the ability to link the 2 games, and catch some Poke'walker exclusive Pokemon.

So what might be in store with a 3rd gen Ruby/ Sapphire remake? One of my own expectations is a bundled device that would allow trading from Pokemon Colosseum, which has both gen 2 and gen 3 pokemon to the 3DS, as it would probably be the very last opportunity to do so (and many of us without a DSLite and Game Cube cable would be eternally grateful for alt. Trading options to main series games, and it would make perfest sense to, since the Colosseum Game Cube games were released in the Gen 3 era), once get 4 starts getting remakes.

I'd also like to see a bit more screen time given to Wally, who you assist early in-game, to help catch a Ralts. And to keep Team Magma and Team Aqua as version exclusives, but use the epic final battle from Emerald, in which Groudon and Kyogre battle until Rayquaza appears to stop them.

I would love to see the walking-Pokémon feature make a return. I know that Pokémon are meant to stay in your pocket inside Poké Balls, but still... it wouldn't hurt to have at least one member of your party following you around, would it? If they decide to bring Pokémon-Amie into these remakes, perhaps they could integrate the two features somehow. Also, it'd be nice if they give us an option to enable or disable feature. Aside from that, I would like to see a few new mega-evolutions, too. In my opinion, one Pokémon that truly deserves to have a mega form is Skarmory. Metagross deserves to have one as well, and so does Jynx. d:

Gimme a Slaking without Truant and we can call it a day.

I liked the walking feature, and liked that it made a return from Yellow in HG/ SS. It's so fun turning around and talking to your Pokemon, and seeing how it interacts with you in different environments. (I think the cutest was seeing my Umbreon plucking at blades of grass, or some other pokemon showing off their agility). I can understand it being a thing in the early gens, since there were less Pokemon to actually make walking with you, but now that there's 700+...I dunno. Could be a challenge to have walking pokemon for all of them- even if most are excluded in a gen 3 remake, that's still a lot of Pokemon to code into walking with you, I'd think, though I'm no developer.

I can't really see the option to disable a feature; since I think for the most part, you'd do fine with ignoring it, like you usually do unwanted features. What exactly was so intrusive in Gen 3 that needed to be given an opt out?

Given that it's called the Lazy Pokemon, I think Truant is fitting ,actually
what other kind of ability would you want it to have in a remake, though, given what it is?

Trick House and Gym remodels with 3D effects. Generally, a graphical overhaul to the already beautiful and diverse Hoenn region.

And something to do with weather, since it was so badly nerfed (with good reason though) with the start of Gen VI.

    Keeping to the originals.
I didn't like how HGSS had the gyms re-done.
It sucked, if i do say so.
I would prefer it if they made it heavily 3D but sticking to the original Gym layout.

Same. I would also like better ow of all the characters. Change the difficulty of the game.
That would be more exciting to play and add at least a couple of side quest in the game.
A better title screen and a better original music, ds style. Not much of a 8-bit music. :P

    GBA Music Player.
But with the correct Soundfont. I'm looking at you HGSS

Like most people, I also want to have my Pokemon walk with me on my journey, especially on the new VI 3D features.

I honestly do not want to see a Gen III remake, with them being my least favorite of the Pokemon games.

But if I had to pick some things i'd like to see more of /if/ they do a remake, it would be these:

1.) Revamp of the Trick House. I really enjoyed doing this as a child and would love to see a little more out of it.

2.) More Post-Game content. Something like they had in FRLG, but not as bad as that. I'm really not expecting this at all, since it's a Pokemon game.

3.) A story that isn't linear. I'm not sure about everyone else, but i'm tired of when I want to replay a Pokemon game, that I know exactly what to do and when to do it. Again, i'm not expecting this at all from a Pokemon game title.

    For it to not exist.
Give me a sequel that happens in Hoenn, but not a Hoenn remake, please!

That being said, I'd buy it anyway even if it was a straight out Remake.

VS. Seeker, Gym Leader Match Call Rematches, Elite Four Rematches, Expansion on the Battle Frontier. Basically that sorta stuff, RSE for me was pretty much flawless otherwise.

I hate that I'm just now getting to this, but there is a thread about RSE remakes in PGC, which is more appropriate for it to be. An RSE remake wouldn't be an Advance Generation game, but it would be a main game, however there's no forum for it. So until it's confirmed, it goes in Pokemon Gaming Central, because that's the catch-all forum for Pokemon gaming. Feel free to post there though! I'm hoping for a remake myself. :)
