Just out of curiosity, what is everyone expecting from a Ruby/ Sapphire Gen 3 remake? From the Gen 1 remake of Red/ Blue/ Green (Jp), we got Fire Red/ Leaf Green, and in that, there was an expansion to the Sevii Islands and obtainable Johto Pokemon, new stat system, updated movesets; and carry-over genders, friendship, and breeding from Gen 2. Also, a GBA wireless adapter was included with the games, when they were first released; to allow trading between FR/ LG/ S/ R/ & E without a Link cable.
With the remake of Silver and Gold with Heart Gold & Soul Silver came the split of physical/ special moves, foreign pokedex entries, Pal Park, the battle Frontier; radio stations Hoenn and Sinnoh sound, Photograghy, the Global Terminal in Goldenrod City, walking Pokemon, Poke'athalon, and 2 new routes (47 and 48). Like its predecessor, it also came bundled with a bonus device- the Poke'Walker, which allowed players to store 1 Pokemon and walk with it, like a pedometer, which would raise that Pokemon's exp.; as well as the ability to link the 2 games, and catch some Poke'walker exclusive Pokemon.
So what might be in store with a 3rd gen Ruby/ Sapphire remake? One of my own expectations is a bundled device that would allow trading from Pokemon Colosseum, which has both gen 2 and gen 3 pokemon to the 3DS, as it would probably be the very last opportunity to do so (and many of us without a DSLite and Game Cube cable would be eternally grateful for alt. Trading options to main series games, and it would make perfest sense to, since the Colosseum Game Cube games were released in the Gen 3 era), once get 4 starts getting remakes.
I'd also like to see a bit more screen time given to Wally, who you assist early in-game, to help catch a Ralts. And to keep Team Magma and Team Aqua as version exclusives, but use the epic final battle from Emerald, in which Groudon and Kyogre battle until Rayquaza appears to stop them.
