Experiments [PG-13]

Drake needed to be patient. He had to be careful with every answer he said.

"I first ran into an Ice Experiment, who was with another Experiment who can turn invisible. In town, I ran into an Experiment who had superspeed."

He watched them, wondering what the woman's powers were, as well as the fire Material's second power.

Eric came back home with a bulletproof vest on his hands.

Well that was easy. That cop didn't see it coming. And I made it look like an accident. Brilliant.

He looked at his parents, who were still unconscious on the floor. "Good peasants." he said sarcastically and headed upstairs. He put took off his shirt and vest, put on his bulletproof vest, and put his shirt and vest back on. But this time, he put on a dark green tie.

One down...One to go...Wait. What about that traitor? She could hear me approach them...I'll use my psychic powers to float over there I guess...That way she won't be hearing my footsteps...

"Oh, I amost forgot! I need some nightvision or heatvision goggles. Just in case we get to fight someplace dark." Eric said and chuckled.

I'm one step closer from my goal...

Jeremy nodded. "I haven't run into any of them yet." then he chuckled. "I guess the Expirement I'm looking for is keeping a low profile." he added, his hands in his pockets.

"Well, do you guys have any useful powers against them? I'm relying on supersight, but I'm gonna need something with a bit more firepower. What powers do you guys have?"

The Materials were generally low key and untense. They seemed to tired, an advantage for Drake. He awaited an answer.

"I've got Echolocation, and I can tell when someone is lying." then he turned to Caresse, "She's got Accelerated Healing, and can create illusions." then he pointed to Jack, "He can manipulate fire and shadows." then he put his hands back in his pocket, "What about you, what powers do you have, aside from the supersight that is?"

He forced down a smile. He had gotten what he wanted. But kept his mind concentrated. Drake thenheard the question. He had prefered not to give away his powers, but seemed to have not choice. He thought for a way out, but then decided its best to come clean.

"I have supersight and Lightning manipulation."

He no longer needed to be around them anymore, but had to leave inconspicuously.
Drake looked around.

Jeremy nodded. "Good combination. You have a power that would do great in battle, along with one that would make a good defense."

Drake looked at the girl. He wanted to know a little more about her power. "What exactly is illusions?"

He wanted to see how advanced her powers were. The boy was only a sensor-type power base. The other flame Material was a most attack-based type. The woman was a healer, with some sort of illusion weapon. He wasn't sure what it meant.

"She says she can create 'utterly devistating illusions to blind her enemy'." he didn't feel the need to tell him about the ability harming her as well. He knew she was tired, as well as he was, so they needed to hurry and get into the town.

"Well alright. You guys seem tired. You should head to an inn or something."

He looked. They all were genuinely tired, so nothing was off about mentioning it.

"As for me, I'll go after the Experiments. I'll be seeing you around. Probably soon."

Jeremy nodded, he was right. They were tired, and they didn't really have a reason to talk anymore. Jeremy waved and led Caresse and Jack into town, where'd they'd hopefully get a little rest.

Drake watched as they departed. When he was sure they were a good distance away, he said quietly, loud enough only for her to hear.

"Ok, they're gone. You can come out now."

He waited as she came out. He had to be careful either way that no one spotted them together either way, although if they did he had a backup excuse anyways. But it wouldn't work on someone who can tell if you're lying.

He waited for Aura to come over.

Aura let out a sigh as the group walked away. Once they were out of her sight, she let her invisibility down, thankful, because she was getting tired. She leaned against the tree for another second before pushing off of it and heading over to Drake.

"Gee, I was getting tired standing over there all by myself." she said, stopping to stand beside him, smiling, with her hands on her hips.

Drake watched as she approached him. He wanted to say something else to her, but knew he had to concentrate on the task at hand. He had figured out a good portion of the Material's powers. For now, that would do.

"We're going after the Experiments. Which one's are closeby?"

Drake remembered that before, she said there were two around, Luphen and Eric. Because of his pact with her, he couldn't go after Luphen yet. However, he could always go after Eric. There lies the problem. Eric had a very strange ability. Superspeed he could handle, in fact, he could easily handle. But his strange pyschic ability was different. He didn't know how to stop it. Last time, it was broken by Aura kicking him. He looked at her. Will I have to use her in combat directly? Could she handle it? He didn't know what to do, so he waited for the reply for now.

Aura sighed. Back to business. She listened for either of the Experiments. Actually, she didn't even listen for Luphen, she wasn't in the mood to deal with him, not after that dream. Though, for a second, as she listened, she thought she sensed Luphen, but she couldn't be sure. She blocked it out.

"Eric's closer." she said slowly, as the dream had found its way back to her brain. "I think he's looking for something, but I can't be absolutely sure. It's just how he's acting, the level of his breathing." she sighed and stretched.

I really need to do some more training. If I don't, I'm not gonna be much help in the combat department. She might have been a black belt in karate, but that didn't mean if she didn't train, she wouldn't lose her ability.

Drake knew it. It would have to be him. Eric was dangerous, but taking him out first would be proper, he suppses.

"Lead me to him. Remember to let me know when he's close. I'll keep an eye out for him as well."

Drake wondered what Eric was looking for.

Drake watched her.

Aura began walking back towards the town. "Whatever you say boss man." she didn't mean to sound rude, if she did. She was just feeling a bit, down. She couldn't pinpoint why, she just knew she was. She sighed as she walked. As she listened to her music, she giggled. She knew the song, and it fit her mood at the moment anyway.

"Evidently, everyone needs a high when they're low." it took her a minute to realize it, but she'd said this out loud. It was true, when you're low, sometimes you need something to bring you back up.

I know! Isolating tape! Gosh, why haven't I thought of this before? Eric said to himself as he grabbed some isolating tape he had stashed in his room. He took of his clothes once more and wrapped his arms and legs with it. Then he put them back on.

I do have less movility. But with with superspeed and telekinesis combined, you could say I can fly! he thought and chuckled. Now...come to me...peasant...

He then ducked and reached for something under his bed. It was a big pipe had had stashed for reasons that only Eric knows.

Now I'm ready.

Drake followed in behind her. Boss man? heh.. He heard her giggle, wondering what she was thinking about now. He tried to concentrate on the coming battle. It might very well be the toughest. He then heard her say something. A high when we're low.

"What?" He said out loud, not understanding what she meant. He decided to ignore it. He need her to focus, and he needed to focus himself. If he didn't Eric might get away, or worse.

Eric put his clothes back on, hiding the tape he used to help him prevent any future attacks from the electric kid.

Now, if they're coming for me, I have to find a good vantage point. But I'm gonna try something.

He moved his arms pointing downwards and began to float. He grinned and slowly flew out of the window, and transported himself to the top of his house. Then, he brought the big pipe to his arms with his telekinesis, and crouched.

Perfect...I can fly...
