I just brought a new computer running Vista Home Premium but I am having some trouble extending the desktop onto my VGA enabled TV screen.

I have the main screen plugged into a DVI port using a DVI adapter and my second screen is connected through a VGA port, there is a spare DVI but as I don't have another adapter does anyone know why the VGA screen won't work and if they do how can I make it work.

    Thanks for the Help.

Are the two DVI sockets on a graphics card, and the VGA on the motherboard? If that's the case perhaps the onboard card is disabled somewhere as it wasn't needed.

you need to go into the display properties (desktop> Personalize> Display settings) then choose the second monitor to display from the VGA. (note: you may still need to go into your device manager and enable it there)
