Extending the Get-Together for a week

I support this idea, as I would love it if the Get Together was a week long. It would give everyone the time that is needed for certain events. the only issue is that some events were designed for 4 days. Maybe event organizers should be able to choose to end their event after 4 days.
 
I'd like this idea so I could get Battle Tower going - that would be good if we could get some more activity there.

But, I think Egg Swap will be stopping on Monday regardless. A week-long Egg Swap in my opinion is just waaaaaaaay too long. I know for a fact I can't host it for that long - the event is mentally draining to run as it is without extending it further. Plus, it would render the whole 'swap record' thing useless, as all previous Swaps have been for four days.

Finally - let's NEVER (and I mean never) hold a Get-Together in July EVER AGAIN. GT8 has been quite the ghost town frankly - GT7 was much better and had lots more activity.

August is the month, for sure. We know this now. :)
 
I'm not so convinced that July is a bad month - the last GT was only for two days and so had less time to 'dim down'... idk, but I can't say I expect it to always be active for four or more days straight. =/

Anyways I guess extending it could be okay (and would just take the gloss away from the GT some more tbh seeing not everything will be extended with it and all). Either way I am fine with it ending when it should too - it was already extended from three to four days and then had a head-start - how many more extensions do we want?

I prefer July to be honest. For me August is when my mid year exams come in and july was actually on a holiday

You make a very good point. And since my last post, ive gotten a whole load of new competitors. We just needed patience ;)
 
I don't think extending it would solve anything. Some people may agree on it, while other events, such as the Egg Swap and Shiritori for example, don't exactly benefit from it. I know we've spoken about this Jake, but the Get-Together this year didn't live up to many people's expectations, considering the amount of events we had, which is the main problem here. Personally, I wouldn't mind extending it, but only for events which require some time to get some sort of competitor in, meaning competitions. Graphics events, Photography, AMV and so forth could use the extra time to get in events, while others don't really need it.
 
^It would be awesome if you could get onto it because Meg said she wouldn't be able to host it if it was extended
 
I don't think it should be extended. It's unfair if some people only get 3-4 days to work on their submissions, and others get 6-7.

We could run another GT for Halloween, with events being rolled out over a 5-day period. That way you won't overwhelm people by posting 50 events all at once.
 
There's a compromise - not all events will have to run for the whole period. Some will end at the original end date. Does that sound fine?
