Extra Region if 5th Gen?

I'd like it if they made the extra region Hoenn. Seems to make the most sense to me, especially since it hasn't been used as much, but any of the others would be pretty cool.

Orange Island + Hoenn Region wouldn't be a bad idea I doubt that imo.

If too much region to be play it would be too epic and get bored as much as we reached the 3rd region.

Just make more storyline and that would be fined.

If they HAD to put in an older Region then I'd go with Hoenn just for the simple reason that we haven't seen it in 3D (well 2.5D) yet.

Hoenn, we've had enough Kanto already, Johto too with the new remakes and there would be no point for Sinnoh, so yeah I'd love to see Hoenn again as an add on to a new region.

That would be interesting. Imagine if the Frontier facilities were scattered across the extra region. At first the facilities could be like Gyms with a twist. You would not have to beat millions of opponents to fight the brain at first. Once you beat the brain the first time you earn the silver print, but you'd still need to fight those millions of trainers like we do today to get the gold print.

Well it would all boil down to which part of japan they cut off for the next gen. I would personally like to see hoenn made better.
So for Hoenn, they would probably make it the western of Japans main island, Honshu.
And if you think about it, they release R/G/Y (B for US ppl.) then release G/S/C that let you travel back to kanto so they could actually do northern Honshu then include an older Sinnoh to travel back to.
And i doubt they will release an Orange Island, if they do, it probably wont be until later on.

As much as I believe Hoenn will be the extra region, there is no reason for Sinnoh not to be the extra region. Johto came right after Kanto, and the new region will come right after Sinnoh, so its possible.

Personally, I hope they don't base the next region of some area in Japan. There are so many interesting places in the world. Have they ever thought about modeling a region off some place outside of Japan (Genius Sonority's Orre doesn't count.)? Sinnoh felt really boring and uninspired to me.

well youll be hard pressed to get the next region based out of japan. All the main stream games are based in japan.
Kanto=Kanto
Jhoto= Chibu (i think)
Hoenn= Kyushyuu
Shinnoh= Hokkaido.
most likely tohoku or western japan will be used.

it depends on how much space a next gen (Nintendo) hand held game will have but im betting on about 400mb or so, that should be more the enouth space for 6 regions

I'm not sure you understand the size limitations of a NDS cartridge.

Also, do you know how incredibly boring six regions would be? Plus, Nintendo's not going to increase the level cap, so how are they going to make the leveling even? Level 20 Elite Four members? Kanto was the reason GSC was easy as pie.

I'd love to see Hoenn again though, it would be awesome.

Two regions, no matter how big the game can be, is perfectly fine and about the max I'd want. Any more and the level curve would be awkward

If they have to worry about adding another region then who's to say they'll put their all into the fifth region?

2 regions is the max. unless you do an Ash Ketchum and reset levels of your one chosen pokemon every time you enter a new region.

I'd love Hoenn, but I can only see that working if we have a region that is an island chain(i.e. the Islands between Taiwan and Kagoshima(which is situated in the area Hoenn is based off) that you can see on google maps). Then lots of people would complain about too much water.I wouldn't though.

Although, they could do Shikoku as the main region, it is a possiablilty however they touched on it in GSC with Cianwood City and again with HGSS in the expansion and addition of safari zone.

Edit: Amore, Hoenn is not based off of Kagoshima, it is based off Kyushu

I have attached a quickly done map on the "main stream" pokemon regions. this only contains the regions from the main games. not including Rangers, Mystery Dungeon and so on.
It shows all four regions and also the space left over in japan to for them to edit.

Awaji-shima is the island that the safari is on on HGSS, not shikoku, still making it a possiable new region.

the okinawan islands lie in the bottom right boxes, they too could be a region.

If they decided to make an enormous region where the E4's levels were in the 80s, I'd be more than satisfied.

well Kanto is the best region of Japan (as to why it was remade every gen) but Id like a new region after the 5th one because i really dont like any region 2 much...if it had to be one it be Hoenn...oh a DSi game would be great in reverse order...Gen V then Sinnoh then Hoenn, Johto, then Kanto ending at Lv 100 lol
