Speaking of NaNos...

'Nother question about attempting to save a NaNo gone wrong, but I meant to write a Pokemon fanfiction. It doesn't get remotely obvious that it's a Pokemon fanfiction until you realize that a number of the cast are actually canon characters. Ergo, right now, although there's mentions of Pokemon in the story, they seem to serve as an afterthought. I'd like for it to be a Pokemon fanfic (because it's a revision of a fic that was obviously a fic), but I have no idea as to whether or not adding scenes that make this obvious that it's set in that world would actually help or just look incredibly terrible and even more like an afterthought. So, in general, if you find that your fanfiction doesn't look like a fanfiction even though you meant it to be a fanfiction, what do you do? Add to it to nudge it in the direction you want it or deviate from the direction you wanted to go and make it original by removing all references to the fandom?
 
i could use some some sort of review, or at least a comment
 
Jax, you could let the story tell itself and let it go the route that it took on its own. That is, just let it be a original fiction. Or you could make the story go the way that you originally planned it to, and deviate the way that it turned back to a Pokemon fic.

I dunno. Maybe you should see how vital the Pokemon characters and world is to the plot of the fic. If they aren't that vital (which it does right now sound like they're not) then you could easily cut them out. But if they are vital, then you should try to emphasis them more in the beginning somehow.

It's really just up to you. Personally, if I felt that the story was beginning to write itself as an original fiction, then I would just let it finish as an original fiction. That's what I would do, since I don't like forcing my plot to go the way I had originally planned.

Well, with the recent arrival of many new fics, this place has been pretty lively.

And just incase anyone cares: I'm still looking for reviewers. At least one new one before I post my next chapter. Of course, if you guys are too busy, I completely understand.

Hmm, okay, I'll check it out. ^^ I'm kind of a slow reader, though, so admittingly it'll probably be several days before I'll be able to post that review.

Want me to copy/paste the one I posted over at the green lagging forum? IIRC, you've already responded to it over there.

BTW, my next updated (actually the first "proper") chapter should be out Saturday or Sunday. If you've followed it on Sppf and remember reading it back in October '06, you'll noticed that I've put about two chapters together.

Hanako, your NaNo is about Digimon? Urgh...Maybe (if I have the attention span to read a 22-page chapter) I'll think of reading it, despite my hatred towards Digimon...

Well, since I fixed all the grammar and typos alter ego mentioned, and everyone else is neglecting to review, tomorrow will be the release date of Chapter four
 
finally the new chapter. I'd review but all i can do is comment cuz I'm just too lazy to review :P which at least tells you that people are reading. Unfortuantley, I've got no freaking clue if people are actually reading mine!

I think I'll have time to review a two more fics tonight. So just keep your eyes open, y'all. I haven't decided who to do. (Probably Brock_Lee, since he only had one review from Duncan, and Scythe-kun had an appearance from Alter Ego. The other review will go to _One_Winged_Angel_, since that's a Digimon fic.)

I wish I could take some of thos reviews off your hands, but I really suck at giving reviews. Like seriously, all I have to say can fit in a paragraph. Then I just talk about nonsense, unless if there's a lot of grammar mistakes.
