I used to capitalize animal names when I was little. Like I'd write about wildlife and type "Deer" instead of "deer" and whatnot. But I learned not to, and it just doesn't make sense to capitalize pok?mon species names, either. The exception would be when your character doesn't nickname their pok?mon and then speaks to them directly, for example, "Use flamethrower, Houndoom."
Actually, it's sorta important not to capitalize pok?mon species names in cases where you have characters that don't nickname pok?mon. Because the plurals of pok?mon names are generally agreed to be the same as the singluars (one houndoom, a lotta houndoom), if your characters ever finds themselves in a situation where they are amongst a number of the same kind of pok?mon, such as a houndoom pack, you can't tell who they're addressing. If your character says "Come here, Houndoom!" in a story where you always capitalize Houndoom,he or she could be talking to the entire pack, see. At the same time, he or she might be speaking to an individual houndoom. If you decapitalize pok?mon names, then the distinction is clear: "Come here, houndoom!" to refer to a group and "Come here, Houndoom!" to refer to an individual.
Crappy example, I know, but I just came up with it on the spot.
I have so many stories that I'm almost always inspired for one of them, and if I'm not, there's usually a one-shot I can throw down. Occasionally, sitting down and pounding stuff out for a while has been proven effective, if I go back and proof it real well later.
Edit: Oh, and Act, if you feel like doing another one of those pok?mon parodies, it would be cute. Only do it if you feel you want to, though.
What pok?mon is it this time? *is rooting for nosepass (nosepass ish da bomb)*
