I remember I added up all the chapters of that uber long stupid fic of mine and it came up to I think 300 or 400 pages. Or maybe it was 500. But that was before I edited it and didn't cut all the crap out. Of course it's still crap filled. But what can you do. ^^ FF.net says its 217,200 words though.

TheWord document containing Quest for the Legends version ILCOE is apparently 123,077 words. The document containing the UMR is 100,027 words.

It is wrong that one review where someone says that your fic is horrible dooms you for nearly all eternity to lie in obscurity. Even if you did improve, if people check the reviews first, then whatever potential readers you might have are...afraid...to read it. It's happen on FF.net, it's happen on forums. It's a rather big shame. :/ Really, everyone should be given a chance.

Perhaps they are all afraid to review a fic that someone with a "lot of power" has said was bad, but they give a more positive review?

Me personally will read a story no matter what the reviews say. If the first person was the one that dooms, (-_-; ) then I go and read the fic to point out the positives so that the author doesn't feel bad. If the reviews are from the people who don't point out mistakes, then I give an honest review.

Though, by honest review, I say the good, the bad, and how to improve. I don't just say, "Read the Advice Thread because you suck." (This would be on the forums, naturally, because FF.net doesn't have an Advice thread, as far as I know.) That doesn't help the writer to improve. It only discourages, and might even just confuse, the writer. There's a lot of confusing topics in the Advice thread.

Ah well. I never could get a word count on a story of mine. They are either not typed up, not finished, or not edited to be submitted.

I'll try to get to it at some point, spie. I is just a bit busy right now...

Reviews that are very thorough, harsh but not insulting, are good. Reviews that say your fic is bad, go read this, I don't think are that good. At least they aren't as horrbile as those in the fan art forum... *cringes* Some people can be a little to blunt.

And, Negrek, another little thank you for the review you gave me a while back. ^.^ It really helped. :D

Ma stories aren't that long. I is a little lazy, so it can take forever for me to get my butt in gear to write a new chappy. XD My grand total of pages written in my longest story to date, before I decided to revise it, was about... 17 in chapters already finished, and I think three in one I ditched in the revision. XD

In "Heart of the Sea", my pages range from five to fifteen. Right now I am working on Chapter Five and so far it is twenty pages, but there will be more:o. The reason for that is it will be filled with a couple of pokemon contest battles that I had put a lot of description on.

Probably after I get done finish writing that chapter, I am going to try to shorten it up a bit during the editing process.

I was sittng here wondering if I sould add my story here.. but... I'm afraid that if I do, I'll get kicked out.... so tell me.. thoes who are brave.. sould I or souldn't I?
It's super long I know.. but by now.. its longer.

Sorry, katiekitten. I already did a through review of spie's fic. I don't think I left anything for you to point out. Sorry. >< You can at least see that I gave a "harsh but not insulting" review. I hope. I don't want to hurt him.

I have to get back to writing my own fic. It's just sitting on a chair, in a big old bowl for my kitchen. :/

XD That's fine, I didn't have time anyway. :)

Ma story is just sitting in my computer, looking forlornly at me. For three months. XD

Sometimes you just have to start writing for its own sake. Your fic may come back to life. If it is looking at you that means you are suppose to work on it you know ;). So scat, go write! And drop by PE2K more often, lately cobwebs are starting to form :P

I finally started work on a new fic, check out the prologue of 'Of Power and Influence'. I'm in the writing groove at the minute, so expect the first chapter in the next few days.

Hey there. Anyone remember me? You know, the author who just mysteriously disappeared for the past few weeks? XD

Anyway, I'd like to announce the end of my short-lived hiatus with two works: Victory (a one-shot that's meant to be at least somewhat funny) and the fifth chapter to Midsummer Knights. Enjoy.

Now, to catch up on all the posts that I missed. And you people called this thread dead. =P

Edit: Although, for one reason or another, the thread for Midsummer Knights doesn't look updated when you look at it from the Fanfiction Archive, the post actually is there. Just a heads up.

There are little kids on this forum, remember? And that's not exactly G-rated material...I vote to show it to an admin before posting it to see if it's within the rules.

Other Writing Rules said:
-No hentai content of any kind (yaoi or any sort of lemon of that nature) is allowed. Let's keep it clean here, guys, not all of us are 20+ years of age.

Sorry man, but the chips seem to fall against you.

Well, we officially have Chapter Two of "Memories of the Future" and Chapter Four of "Crash My Couch Fort" up! I am SOOO excited! *giggles* I didn't know if I'd be able to handle updating TWO fics regularly, but I seem to be doing all right thus far.

I'm also thinking about starting a series of shipping fics... I think someone needs to bring to the world a decent shipping series that will cover all the GOOD shippings... Ehehehe....

And now that I'm actually back to work on a regular basis, I'm going to try and get back into reading other people fics and actually reviewing them.

*evil laughter* BE AFRAID! I mean... *uber-cute smile* Coming to a fic near you!

That's the only reason I've been wodering about it for over five months... but I know the rules and I know how you guys are such strait arrows, so I'll just leave it here with the aproprate warning saying that if you arn't old enough or mature enough, don't read it, if you giggle at the word Hoo-Hoo's, Don't read it, If the humen anatomy gets you all red in the face, Don't read it. That's all I have to say...

Back to the topic of page length, if I let myself go I get to about 8 pages, but lately iI'm trying to cut down on length so I don't scare away readers; I set myself a 6-page maximum. To help myself out I plan much shorter chapters.

Hm, I think if your story is really good though a reader will not notice how long each chapter is ;)

A six typed page chapter? Wow. I tend to keep mine between 3 and 4. Any longer just gets boring. I will make an acception if the chapter is more intense than usual. But as a general guideline, I keep myself to 3/4.
