You also managed to leave out the Super Mario Land series on the original GameBoy and Mario Vs. Donkey Kong series (GBA and DS).
Personally, I loved Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (Geno was my favorite character), as well as Super Mario Land 2.

My favorite mario game out there today is super mario bros. 3 for NES and including the remake for SNES. ;)

Super Paper Mario. I love the Paper Mario series, and that one has the best plot in a Mario game EVER. Plus, its soundtrack is epic <3
