In general, Bug Pokémon have low HP and Defense and decent Attack and Speed scores.
Bug is weak to Fire, Flying, and Rock, however, it's strong against Grass, Psychic and Dark.

My fave Bug-type is a four-way tie between Pinsir, Beedrill, Heracross, and Scolipede.

    Noob out.

My favorite is definitely Galvantula. Bug and electric is a good combination.

I like bug types but it's unfortunate they didn't get good until gen 3.

What's your favourite Bug type pokemon? Why? My favorite would have to be Scyther. I'm not quite sure why. I've only had him on a team once. Mostly, I just like his design.
What's your least favourite bug type pokemon? Why? The Wurmple lines. (Both of them.) I just find that they're terrible in battle.
How well do you like the Bug type pokemon? In general? Not at all.
Why do you, or don't you, like the Bug Pokemon? To be perfectly honest, I find them (overall) weak. There are other types that can take on their type strengths (ex; fire for grass) and I don't like the way most of them look. It's not an "Ew! Bugs!" thing. Bugs actually don't bug me too much in real life. (heh, there's a pun there. not intended.) I just don't like the way most of them look.

What's your favourite Bug type pokemon? Why?
    I like Crustle the best.
What's your least favourite bug type pokemon? Why?
    Accelgor. super ugly.
How well do you like the Bug type pokemon? Why do you, or don't you, like the Bug Pokemon?
I used to not care for them in the least before gen V because of how weak they all were. However, since gen V their stats have picked up a bit and there are some major powerhouses added to the mix.

What's your favourite Bug type pokemon? Why?
Galvantula, Butterfree, Heracross, Scizor, and Scyther! I like they're design.

What's your least favourite bug type pokemon? Why?
Metapod. I just hate it for no reason. And Weedle too.

How well do you like the Bug type pokemon?
Not much, seeing that I hate bugs in real life.

Why do you, or don't you, like the Bug Pokemon?
    I like them because they evolve very easily, I don't like them because they remind me of bugs. ;~;

What's your favourite Bug type pokemon? Why?
Volcarona, because moths are my favorite kind of bug & it's POWERFUL!!!
I also like Galvantula & Scizor.

What's your least favourite bug type pokemon? Why?
    Can't really think of 1...

How well do you like the Bug type pokemon?
I'm indifferent of Bug pokemon, since I don't use them due to being too weak for my liking. but when I get White, I'll be using more Bugs, namly Galvantula & especially Volcarona.

Why do you, or don't you, like the Bug Pokemon?
Like I said, I'm indifferent toward them.
For the most part, that is...
I really like Volcarona for said reasons...
& Galvantula looks so huggable! <3

My favorite bug Pokemon is Butterfree. Why? Well, even though design-wise and stat-wise I like the "cool" bugs more. (Heracross, Pinsir, Syther line.) however, Butterfree is the only Bug Pokemon that I have actually used, and liked.

My least favorite bug is Weedle, the entire line. My reason is that where the Caterpie line does have redeeming factors (high special attack, psychic types moves later on.) Weedle has no real special qualities, aside from a semi-decent defense. So, in my mind, Weedle is just the sucky cousin of Caterpie.

I have a mixed opinion on bugs. There are some bugs I like, and they share some qualities I like, for example, the really fast leveling helps in the meta game. However, there are quite a few bugs I don't like, and most bugs are often outclassed by other types of Pokemon.

I'm pretty sure I already explained my reasons why.

Favorite Bug Pokemon: Tie between Scizor, Yanmega, Scolipede and Volcarona. All 4 have cool designs. Scizor plows through most opponents with Technician Bullet Punch, Yanmega's Tinted Lens gives its STABs perfect coverage, Scolipede's movepool is excellent compared to its fellow Bug/Poison Pokemon and Volcarona's typing is one of the typings I saw coming when B/W were released.

Least favorite Bug Pokemon: Wurmple. What it evolves into is unpredictable. Also, Leavanny because it's walled by too many things.

How well do you like the Bug Pokemon?: They're okay, but not the best type out there.

Why do you or don't you like the Bug Pokemon?:What I like about them is that there are plenty of insects in this world and a good percentage of real-world bugs have been turned to Pokemon.

What's your favourite Bug type Pokemon? Why?
Easily Heracross. For one thing, it's of the few Bug critters that can pack a really powerful punch, plus we have Heracross to thank for the glory that is Megahorn. It also looks completely badass, and is one of my favourite Pokemon anyway... so, yeah!

What's your least favourite Bug type Pokemon? Why?

Probably Weedle, mainly for all those times it would Poison Sting me when I was trying to train my Pokemon to beat Brock all those years ago in Blue version. There are probably worse ones (like Surskit, for example) but Weedle really bugs the crap out of me! (A PUN! Completely unintentional!)

How well do you like Bug type Pokemon?
Apart from Heracross, I harbour no strong feelings towards Bug type Pokemon.

Why do you, or don't you, like Bug type Pokemon?

Most of them are extremely fragile and their strength against Psychic and Dark types are overshadowed by Dark and Fighting types respectively, which - for the most part - can take a hit or two before going down. In terms of design, some of them are OK, but as battlers they leave a lot to be desired.

Bugs are among some of my favorite pokemon, which is odd because I've never been a particularly big fan of insects irl. I guess I like bug pokemon because I like more technical and strategic battles to pure offense or pure defense, and bugs are next to ghosts and poisons in terms of accomplishing that end. XD

Beedrill, Ariados, Forrestress, Shedinja, and Ninjask have been my top five favorite bugs forever, but GenV threw a monkey wrench at everything by introducing Galvantula, Volcarona, and Scolipede to the equation. XD

What's your favourite Bug type pokemon? Why? Vespiquen. I have no clue why; she just seems to be on the stronger end regarding bug types.
What's your least favourite bug type pokemon? Why? The cocoons. They are pretty much useless. XD
How well do you like the Bug type pokemon? Eh, they're okay. Not my favorite type.
Why do you, or don't you, like the Bug Pokemon? In the long run, they seem pretty useless (except I guess we could get some use out of Heracross).

Natnat! This is my favorite. I mean...look at it! Isn't it just the greatest thing ever in existence? ^-^ It's too adorable.

I also have a really big attachment to this one. I don't know what it is about him. Maybe it's just his badass vibe. But I really love Accelgor.

This is just...no. :( Go away. Shoo.

Overall, Bug Pokemon are some of my favorite. Probably because I like so many of them. I saved you the time by not listed all my favorite bugs though.

There are several bug Pokémon that I actually really like, making Bug types one of my top favourites!

But my overall favourite two Bug types are...

My favorite Bug-type Pokemon...? Yeegh. Let's see..:

Scyther: it looks VICIOUS. Freaking scythes for hands, it can fly, and it looks...powerful. A praying mantis Pokemon gone right, indeed.

    Scizor
: How could you NOT love that sleek red metallic skin? It's STEEL-type and metallic, as well as having more effective pincers than its pre-evo. All around BA.

    Yanmega (and Yanma)
: Their anime cry is awesome, and a mega dragonfly is freaking awesome. I REALLY wish it was a Bug/Dragon-type Pokemon with Levitate, though!

Heracross: WHACK. WHACK. WHACK. WHACK. Wild Heracross used Megahorn! The foe was flung away! A well-built Pokemon with cobalt blue skin, a horn that combats even the toughest of foes, and awesome game and anime cries! And it's part-Fighting, based on a RHINOCEROS BEETLE!

    Spinarak
: I like the color scheme a bit more than Ariados's. I loved this thing ever since I saw the cute faces on its abdomen. :) And the shiny coloration is awesome as well!

Beautifly (and Wurmple): some of the first Bug-types I came across in Sapphire. Beautifly with its majestic, regal look in flight, while Wurmple is cute with a nice color scheme. Amazing.

    Masquerain (and Surskit)
: Eyes to ward off any foes, with Surskit having a cute cry and Masquerain having an intimidating cry and ability! Their names sound awesome, and Masquerain is quite threatening. And it can even Hydro Pump its foes away! Not to mention that Masquerain signals the arrival of rain.

    Ninjask
: Although real-life cicadas are freaking pesky as heck, this guy looks awesome and posses and awesome ability. And it's a FREAKING NINJA CICADA!

    Shedinja
: This quirky little guy is a bit strange, but cute and somehow cool in his own way. Awesome ability, though crappy HP.

Wormadam and Mothim: Nice designs and simple names.

Vespiquen: Freaking awesome name, and a perfect parallel to Beedrill. With three fitting signature moves, as well!

Kricketune: Awesome name and design that incorporates a violin - I can't wait to hear its cry, which I've heard a lot of people buzzing about on the interwebs!

Sewaddle: Haven't seen the evos yet, but this guy is cute as heck.

Scolipede: I wish it were called "Venipede"...either way, a monstrous millipede Pokemon that can learn Earthquake, with an unusual color scheme to boot, comes with its own awesomeness as well.

Crustle: Unfamiliar with its line, but definitely cute.

Galvantula (and Joltik): AN ELECTRIC SPIDER. AWESOME BY DEFAULT. I cannot wait to nickname this thing Tarantesla. ^^

Ulgamoth (and Larvesta): AN INFERNAL MOTH. AWESOME BY DEFAULT. Volcarona will be an awesome nickname for it.

Beedrill (and Kakuna; Weedle): Ever since Generation 1, this guy has been Twin-Needlin' its foes to 0 HP. Bring back Twineedle's ability to Poison Steel-types, plz! Kakuna still creeps the heck out of me despite its coolness, and Weedle is cute as well (STOP POISONING ME IN FIRERED!)

    Butterfree (and Metapod; Caterpie)
: Another classic, the evolution of Butterfree in the anime was well celebrated. An intriguing Pokemon as well, with its Psychic abilities. Butterfree's pre-evos are classic as well, with Caterpie being one of the first Pokemon viewers ever saw. VERY cute, too!

Venomoth: Butterfree has an edge on it, but the design is still likable in its own right.

Ledyba and Ledian: They're just so...Pokemon-ish! Great ladybug warriors, indeed.

Parasect (and Paras): Awesome cries, especially the anime one. PAIRRRRRRRRR-A-SECT.

Volbeat/Illumise: Awesome in theory; a firefly/lightning bug Pokemon! WHY AREN'T THEY PART-ELECTRIC-TYPE WITH LEVITATE?!!

Pineco: Nice teal metallic design, and prone to Explosions!

Pinsir: Guillotined me so many freaking times in the Battle Tower (unfairly! >:[), but this guy is still great.

Escavalier/Accelgor: I just feel that the names could have been better somehow... I dislike the trade mechanic a bit, but their origins are awesome; especially Escavalier's, who steals its opponents shell for usage. Accelgor's design is somewhat awkward and uninspired, but I'm glad we get a Bug-type ninja/mummy.

Armaldo: BATTLE ARMOR PREVENTS CRITICAL HITS! Armaldo used AncientPower! Cool Pokemon, and I'm glad he manages to incorporate the stegosaurus tail into the design. I have fond memories of receiving Anorith, my first ever fossil Pokemon. :]

GenOsect: I'm going to familiarize myself with him come Gray Version, but his design is freaking awesome (color palette, I'm slightly iffy about) and his ability to shift Drive Formes via Cassettes is amazing. The only other thing I can mention about this guy, who is undoubtedly on track to grow more awesome and BA as time goes on, is: DENNIS DENNIS DENNIS DENNIS DENNIS...

Shuckle and Forretress receives Honorable Mention for being themselves. I love Forretress's high defenses, but I hate how Forretress copies Scizor's typing.

Also, Beedrill and Scizor so need to get back into Super Smash Brothers (Genosect would be awesome in there, as well).

    Top 10:

    ------

Least favorite Bug-type? Possibly Durant, but not by much. It just looks too Fakemon-ish to me...it's not that bad, though. :\ Also, Dustox. It looks a little ugly, but I've grown tolerant of it.

Bug Pokemon are nice when combined with another type. Bug/Flying and pure Bug-types somewhat dismay me due to their plethora of weaknesses. :( I also dislike it when Scizor's typing gets copied - and that happened twice three times since then! I guess "exoskeleton=metal" a lot...? I also hate how they're resistant to Fighting-type - I mean, the typical way to dispatch of spiders and ants in real life is to SMUSH THEM WITH YOUR FIST! Only if stingers and fangs are there do you get adverse complications...usually. -.-

Also, I really hope we can get a legendary Bug-type Pokemon boxart mascot some day... (and Giratina and Celebi don't really count... >_>)

LOL...I've been thinking that Celebi was Bug/Grass all this time! Turns out that it's Grass/Psychic. XD Well, at least we have Bug/Grass (Paras/Parasect) AND Grass/Psychic Pokemon type combinations existing! :cer_laugh: So Celebi's not as weak as I thought... When you've never owned a certain event Pokemon, they can do this to you. >_>

Fifth gen xD. Out of the three, I'd say Volcarona is my favorite.

These things never made sense to me, I don't know why.

How well do you like the Bug type pokemon?
Bug definitely isn't my favorite type, but I don't hate it. On some Pokemon, Bug is combined with some other types that make it pretty cool.

Very similar to Woobat's faves, except I like Scyther more than Scizor. An electric tarantula is just too awesome! Probably my absolute favorite of all the bugs. Before Generation 5 rolled around Scyther was my favorite. A praying mantis with scythes for hands? That's a nice, intimidating design! Another one from Gen 5 I really like is Volcanora. For some reason I really like its design; it's also Bug/Fire! This generation actually has a lot of cool Bug types.

What's your least favourite bug type pokemon? Why?
I never really liked the Wurmple line, partly because it's too much like the Caterpie line, and because I don't think Beautifly's and Dustox's designs are that great. I don't really like Burmy's line either, just because of how they look (except Mothim) But I don't really hate any of them.

How well do you like the Bug type pokemon and why?
For battles, I don't usually use them (if ever), but that might change for Generation 5. As far as their designs go, in general I really like what they've come up with, especially in comparison to their real-life counterparts. I don't really like real bugs, but Bug Pokemon are interesting :)

BEEDRILL is a GIANT BEE/WASP/HORNET WITH SPEARS AS ARMS
    KAKUNA is WEARING A TIE

And Weedle is cool, too, so Beedrill line is the undisputed leader for me.
Honorable mention to Scyther (looks cool, but not as cool as Beedrill) and Butterfree (in-game god)

In general, I love the Bug type, it's right after Grass for me. Funny enough, I'm not too fond of Paras/-ect though.

What's your favourite Bug type pokemon? Why?

Top 3 would be: Scyther, Parasect and Volcarona.

Scyther because it hands down looks awesome, Parasect I've always been partial to and Volcarona I love that it's part fire.

What's your least favourite bug type pokemon? Why?

I'm not entirely sure... Forretress maybe? I'm not too keen on the design.

How well do you like the Bug type pokemon?

They wouldn't be my favourite types but I don't dislike them either :) Having never really used them before, I'd like to include them on a team of mine in the future to see how well I like them then :)

Why do you, or don't you, like the Bug Pokemon?

They're not that common except early on so it's cool to see trainers using different types, such as Bug :) I actually like a lot of their designs - the only thing is I have so many other favourites there's never really enough room on my team :(

What's your favourite Bug type pokemon? Why?
Heracross. I'll just name one. I have so many favorites though. Heracross is cool and awesome. It was love at first sight, I mean.. come on. <3

What's your least favourite bug type pokemon? Why?
Weedle? idk, I don't really have any bug pokemon I don't like. ;o

How well do you like the Bug type pokemon?
As much as I love Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, etc. (you get the idea) type pokemon. My love for pokemon isn't based on it's type, so yeah.

Why do you, or don't you, like the Bug Pokemon?
    Bug pokemon are awesome. :/
