I used to use Dr. Mario a lot too. When I first got the game I played as Mario and I found the Doc to be a tad stronger.

Metwo: once you learn how to combo with him, he's destructive...
Capt. Falcon: I use him when I'm in the mood for more speed combos...
Ganondorf: He may be slow, but I'll use him instead of Falcon when I'm in the mood for pure power.
Roy: Though not as good as the above three, his attacks are just cool. I'm learning to combo with him.

Okay, here are my reasons and a few other characters that I like too!
Kirby: I like his swallow thing and the stone thing.

Ganondorf: His punch is really strong and when you press B and <- or -> while on the ground, it can do heavy damage.

Link: It can annoy people easily.

Samus: The B move is cool and pretty powerful.

Mewtwo: His teleport is cool.

My Fave is Roy, once you learn how to use his forward B (--> B) technique he can be used to destroy....plus hes fast ^_^

Roy may cause more damage, but Marth is faster. Speed > Power

Jigglypuff~
The Pound-Pound-Rest combo never fails~ =P

Deflector = Ownage~

Zelda/Sheik~
6 attacks in the 'same' character? Meh, pwnd~

Zelda is the best super smash bros. character,She has her slow but powerful side and her quick yet weak side too..Perfect balance!

I'm with you all the way on that. Pichu is my favorite character as well.
