It sounds like he's trying to hint at the identity of one character. Bard, being worldly and wise, pointed out that he quoted Star Wars, which is a big hint to their identity. There happen to be two characters in Star Wars that are continually referenced in Final Fantasy: Biggs and Wedge, which are always best friends in each game they show up in.

I really need to play more Final Fantasy it seems. :(

But at least we know the nature of at least one of these events. Answer trivia, get money. Simple, straightforward.

I had (and still have) even less than that. I was just simply making a reference. Normally when you kill an enemy monster (or three) you get much more gil.

In all seriousness though I wonder what that black potion does. I'm far from being able to buy it but given what mystery potions tend to have as effects it's very intriguing.

Black Mages traditionally are able to employ high level black magic and status spells, and while I'm not sure what Vivi's powers are since I've never played FFIX, I'd guess it would mean being able to cast status spells in a mafia setting. I guess.

I'd hold off on buying things RN, there aren't really many biases or leads to be had yet, so it just feels like a waste ATM. That's just me, though. If you want to spend, go ahead.
