Character Name: Arfo Saylin
Gender: Female...
Age: 21
Class: Mage
Appearance: Arfo wears a large robe, that goes down to her knees. It has large sleeves, that contrast with Arfo's small arms. She has snow-white hair that is cut short and doesn't reach her ears, and gray eyes that convey no emotion usually. Arfo doesn't worry about her looks, because she believes one's natural beauty is what they should stick to.
Personality: Arfo is a gentle woman, but she is very quiet. She usually keeps to herself and is very shy. She will not kill anyone unless she needs to and she will never try to harm an innocent. All she wants is peace and for people to get along, and she remains optimistic about the idea. Sometimes, she will turn hostile for no apparent reason, but truly it is a side effect of being brainwashed(more on that in the history section). When she recovers from these fits, she feels so bad that she often runs away or isolates herself for a while. To her, words hurt more than weapons; being insulted by a friend would be far more painful to her than getting stabbed. She doesn't believe that friends should fight and truly hopes to see the best in every person. Arfo often feels a bond with animals or wildlife, and can often be distracted by a deer or a squirrel that she follows for a while. She will usually realize that she is completely and totally lost after a while, but that doesn't affect her; sometimes she gets lost on purpose, just for the joy of forgetting about the darkness of the world and to have a small adventure on getting back to where she was before.
History: Arfo woke up in a forest at a young age, maybe 6 or 7, with no memories of who she was or how she got there. Of course, she was lost and didn't know where to go or what to do. She once stumbled upon an injured deer and she freed it. It began to follow her around, and she kept it as a pet. But, a child cannot last alone in the forest for too long and she was attacked by a group of wolves. These wolves tackled and ate the deer, allowing Arfo enough time to escape. As she ran, she got caught in a trap meant to capture a wild animal. A friendly hunter found her and freed her, asking her why she was in the forest. Arfo told him about her time in the forest and how she lost her memories, and the hunter took her to a nearby town. Arfo met other people and became the hunter's adopted daughter. However, he learned that Arfo was a lousy hunter; she believed life was sacred. As Arfo refused to kill an innocent animal, the hunter had to figure out what she could contribute to the village. At the town, the hunter took Arfo shopping and asked her what she would like to buy. The girl was strangely drawn towards a fire tome.
Once it was bought, the hunter paid for a mentor to train her on how to use it. He was strict and stern, his hardened nature often clashing with Arfo's soft-heartedness. Due to this, Saylin had immense difficulty making any progress. When the mentor was able to identify what was wrong, he had a new lesson plan: he would bring her adoptive father to Arfo's lessons once per month and be more gentle. The mentor would ask the girl to show a new trick to her father during his scheduled visit. Though Saylin wasn't too pleased with the mentor, she would try with all of her effort to perfect these tricks for her mentor. When the hunter realized how hard his adopted daughter was working just for him, he felt he had to repay it in some manner, causing him to take a break from his hunting. The girl was deeply pleased with this, as she felt animals deserved to live(she was a vegetarian). However, after a while, the hunter went back to hunting as he was skilled at it and needed to bring home more money. Though the girl initially was confused by this, she still enjoyed the fact that her dad had tried his hardest to change an essential part of himself, and the effort meant a lot more to her than the overall outcome. This greatly strengthened the bond between the two, and Arfo vowed to learn more impressive and more difficult spells and skills, all just to please her adoptive dad.
Arfo became a tome expert, and used her newfound powers as a hobby, but not as a weapon. When bandits invaded the town, the hunter and Arfo tried to flee, but they got captured and taken to an enemy camp. Once the leader of the camp learned that Arfo could use tomes, he weaponized her and manipulated her. Arfo was brainwashed into becoming a bandit and became a valued ally; with her on their side, they had captured multiple towns. One night, Saylin remembered her adoptive father and asked what happened to him. Her answer; they had killed him. In a fit of rage, Arfo was able to remember who she was and fled the camp, running into the forest. She got lost again, like when she was a child, and passed out from exhaustion under a giant tree. When she woke up, she heard voices nearby. As she approached them, she saw some people from the town that she was raised in. They took her in, and helped her recover from her brainwashing. Arfo vowed to right the wrong that she had caused, prompting her to seek out the Shepherds...
