3rd Gen Fire Red & Leaf Green Monotype Challenge

Awesome. :]

I'll start as soon as I get offline and post an update between tonight and tommorow! I can't wait to start. And, I can start right after I start the game, too. Because Pidgey and Rattata are instantly avaliable. :]
 
I'd like to take this challenge. when im offline, i will begin. May i do the elegant Flying type? you think your jolt of electricity will clip their wings? I ,Falkner will show you differ- oh hang on. ;)

kk, ill start later.

Basic team plan: Pidgeot- I know inferior to swellow.
Charizard- uh, take a geuss
Dragonite- itll keel you all
Gyarados: sp? ill get this by Misty. :D
Butterfree- Uh, status afflicter?
Golbat- kinda self explanitory? filler

thats the team ill use. I hope.

I don't think ghost types are avaliable before Cerulean. (sp??) Which is why it's not an option. I think? I think once I finish my normal run; I'm gonna do fire. But... my question is... does anyone have a list of fire Pokemon avaliable in FireRed? There doesn't seem to be too many...

Anyway, here's my update:

+I restarted the game and picked the starter Pokemon; Squirtle.
+After delivering Oak's parcel, I headed to the first route and caught my first two Pokemon; Pidgey and Rattata.
+I made a trip to Viredian (sp? i KNOW that's horribly wrong) and dropped Squirtle off in the PC.
+I caught my third Pokemon; Spearow.
+After catching Spearow, I caught a few Pokemon to fill my Pokedex; including Caterpie, Metapod, Mankey and Weedle. (and a few more) And dumped them in the PC, too.
+I then trained Spearow, Pidgey and Rattata to Lv 10 to prepare for the trip through Viridian (am I closer?) forest with only three Pokemon for the first time ever!!
+In Viridian forest, I caught a Pikachu and trained my normal Pokemon to Lv 13. I breezed through the forest with no problem at all.
+When I reached Pewter town, I dropped Pikachu in the PC and headed to the grass to go through TOUGH training to prepare for Brock; whom I knew would give me a problem since rock is resistant to normal and flying moves.
+After training my Pokemon to Lv 16 (yes, before even beating Brock!!!) I went to Brock's gym and beat his Geodude using my Pidgey and his Onix using my Rattata.
+After defeating Brock, I headed toward Mt. Moon, taking on each trainer on the way with no problem whatsoever. (though, the hikers gave me a bit of trouble)
+I caught my fourth Pokemon right before Mt. Moon; Jigglypuff. By this time, my Pokemon were Lv 18- so, Jigglypuff was obviously underedleveled.
+So, I headed back to Pewter to train Jigglypuff.
+After getting Jigglypuff to Lv 17, I headed for Mt. Moon taking all the usual precautions (stocking up on potion, antidote and pokeballs.)
+I made it through Mt. Moon with no problem whatsoever- training my Pokemon to Lv 20 on the way through.
+Sadly, I didn't find a Clafairy. I gave up trying after an hour of running around and seeing nothing but Zubats, Geodudes and Paras'.
+I did, however, evolve my Jigglypuff into Wigglytuff.
+After leaving Mt. Moon, I headed to Cerulean where I took on my rival (whom I named Green) and beat him without blinking an eye.
+I caught various Pokemon to fill my pokedex and dumped them in the PC.
+I made my way to Bill; battling everyone along the way with no problem. I collected the SS Anne ticket and prepared to head to the next place.
+I caught a Meowth and trained him to Lv 20.
+I caught another Spearow and trained him to Lv 20; stopping his evolution for purpose of in-game trade.
+I headed to Vermilion City, battling the trainers along the way. My Pokemon reached Lv 21. I traded Spearow for Far'fetched. (in the game, of course!)
+I boarded the SS Anne; collected items and battled all the trainers. Training my Pokemon to Lv 23.
+I defeated my rival with no problem; again and moved on to collect cut.
+I left the SS Anne; and, currently, am about to take on Misty.

EDITED TO ADD: If trading isn't allowed ingame either (it wasn't specified) i'll dump Far'fetched in the PC. ;)
 
Oh! Another update. :]

+I headed back to Cerulean and took on Misty. I beat her with ease using my Wigglytuff and Raticate.
+After beating Misty, I headed toward Rock Tunnel to train my Pokemon a little before taking on Lt. Surge.
+I battled all the trainers along the way, training my Pokemon to Lv 25.
+I headed back to Vermilion to take on Lt Surge.
+I beat him with just a slight problem (Meowth fainted) using Meowth, Ratticate and Wigglytuff.
+After beating Lt. Surge, I took the route outside Diglett's cave to train my Pokemon a little. Some of them grew a level, some of them didn't.
+I went through Diglett's cave, catching a Diglett for my Pokedex and collecting the Flash HM when I made it through.
+After collecting Flash, I taught it to Meowth and went through the Rock Tunnel battling the trainers along the way.
+I cut through Lavender, not stopping to do anything but heal my Pokemon and headed to the next place; battling trainers along the way and training my Pokemon to Lv 27
+I arrived in Celadon and collected my Eevee (who I named Sandy because she reminds me of my corgi mix, Sandy; because they both have big ears).
+I dumped my Fearow in the PC and picked up my Eevee.
+I collected my cut HM.
+Currently, I am about to head to the gym in Celadon.

Ok- Picked Squirtle.
+Did all the Parcel mumbo-jumbo and got to Viridian Forest.
+Caught level 3 Weedle and Caterpie. EVENTUALLY, through rigorous training in route 2 and the Forest, i got them to level 10, evolving them from the cocoons, to the semi-decent Butterfree and Beedrill.
+Took on Rival in route 22. Won with relative ease.
+Got thru the Forest, battled every trainer along the way..
+Upon challenging Brock (after beating the Camper and whatnot), Butterfree and Beedrill were level 14 and 12, respectively. Beat brock with Butterfree using PoisonPowder and Confusion. Got through the next route, bringing Butterfree to 15 and Beedrill to 14.
+Got through Mt Moon. Caught a female Paras, level 8. Decided to train that up a bit before Cerulean.
+Now i'm in Cerulean, my team is:
Butterfree, level 18.
Beedrill, level 16.
Paras, level 16.
As you can see, i'm struggling...D=
 
Yay! Another update!

+I took on Erika in Celadon and beat her with ease using my birds.
+After leaving the gym, I went to team rockets hideout and got through it with no problem. I can't remember which Lv my Pokemon were at when I left.
+I brought and won some game tokens (after collecting the case) and traded them in for a Clefairy. Which I dumped in the PC since she was only Lv 8 and I didn't feel like training her.
+I headed back to Lavender town and entered the ghost tower; going through it with no problem and getting rid of the ghost.
+After beating the rockets at the top, I collected my flute and headed to the bridge where I beat each trainer.
+I defeated the first Snorlax.
+I headed to Celedon for the next Snorlax and caught him.
+My Pokemon are now at Lv 31 and I'm headed to Fushia.

I was too lazy to make a card of my own so I used a generator and didn't know it was just for the newest generation until I was done. LoL Not changing it now...

When you reach the S.S. Anne MAKE SURE to get Brick Break.
 
Another Update! ALOT happened since my last one..
+Beat Misty with fair ease- Paras with Bullet Seed was suprisingly brilliant against Starmie. Floored every trainer on and after Nugget Bridge.
+Got the S.S ticket, headed for Vermillion.
+Caught a Meowth lvl 10 (HM slave #1).
+Got into S.S Anne and battled every trainer there- (yeah, thanks, Ninja Tree, i got it- for my future Pinsir- i'm playin leafgreen).
+Paras evolved! Taught Parasect ''Dig''. (Was suprised it could learn it in the first place..)
+Battled everyone in the gym, and the route to the east of Vermillion. Butterfree, Beedrill, and Parasect level 25.
+Beat LT Surge (duh, i dug..xD. Oh sorry, that was awful...).
+Went to route 2 and got Flash.
+Went to Rock Tunnel, fighting everyone on the way.
+I've reached Celadon now. Battled everyone on the route before the Snorlax (that's closest to Vermillion), and the route to the east of Lavender town. Butterfree, Parasect, Beedrill level 33. Clearly, i Havn't added any new team members, though i intend on getting a Venonat when the opportunity presents itself, and a Pinsir when i reach Fuchsia (although incredibly, i forgot to exchange my voucher for a Bike, and only realised after leaving Rock Tunnel, lol.). I may miss something, so if there's a possibility of a would-be-team-member, don't hesitate to let me know.

Another update!! It's a bit late, but I forgot to post yesterday. <3
(how'd this thread end up on the 2nd page?? the boards must be moving fast today!)

+Went to Fushia and went to the Safari Zone. Caught me a bunch of Pokemon. Couldn't catch me a Tauros, Chansey or Kangaschaun (sp?). Got mad. Decided to try again later.
+Left Fushia to go to Saffron.
+Went through Silph Co.; surprisingly with ease. Beat Green and Giovanni. Left.
+Went to the Gym. Took on Sabrina. Earned the badge.
+Went to the "other gym" and won a Hitmontop.
+I'm heading back to Fushia and about to take on the Fushia Gym.

I'd make a card; but paint isn't working and I don't feel like finding a card maker. So, I'll make one next time.
 
Thank god someone else updated- I've been waiting for ages, i'm new to this whole forum thing, so i'm not sure- if i post 2 different updates in a row, does it count as a double post, and if so would i be penalised for it?
On with the update.
+Found out you can get a Pinsir at the game corner. Blew my cash on one. Female, level 18.
+Beat Erika and the rest of her Gym with Pinsir, bringing it to level 22.
+Beat everyone (Giovanni incl.) In the Game Corner. Pinsir level 26, parasect lvl 34, beedrill lv 35, butterfree lv 34.
+Beat everyone in Pokemon tower.
+Caught the Snorlax near Cycling Road, beat the other one.
+Beat everyone on the way to Fuchsia.
+Cleared Koga's gym.
+Got Surf. Caught a Venomoth lv 32, but havn't withdrawn it yet.
+Currently running thru Silph Co. Have already beaten the fighting dojo.
+Team-
Butterfree->40.
Beedrill->39.
Parasect->38.
Pinsir->39.
Will update when Blaine is beaten. Might take a few years... D=

~ Named self "Red"
~ Named rival "Green"
~ Withdrew the Potion from the PC
~ Received a Squirtle from Prof. Oak
~ Got Potion from Mart Employee
~ Got Oak's Parcel
~ Returned to Pallet Town
~ Gave Prof. Oak his Parcel
~ Got the PokeDex
~ Got the Town Map
~ Went to Viridian Forest and caught a lvl 4 female Caterpie (SpeedRacer) and a lvl 4 female Weedle (Pickles)
~ Made it through Viridian Forest
~ Grinding till both are level 15

Well, I didn't play yesterday as I spent the day playing Ruby (which I just got yesterday... so, yeah xD) however, I'm going to be playing tonight. So, I should have an update tommorow. :)
 
Ok (looks like i didn't even need to edit, Ninja, Benji! =D) On with the update.
+Completely swept thru Silph Co.
+Withdrew Snorlax, taught Surf.
+Flew to Pallet, surfed to Cinnabar.
+Got my Amber and Fossil revived. (Any time i mention obtaining a non-bug type, it's for my Pokedex, nothing else.)
+Swept thru the Mansion, getting Solarbeam, Blizzard and the Secret Key.
+Taught ''Rock Tomb'' to Pinsir. Parasect isn't fast enough to dig against this gym..
+Beat all Gym Trainers, and then Blaine! Yeah, i had to go around the map fighting anyone i missed so far, to train Pinsir. Beat Blaine with relative ease, only problem was Arcanine.
+Did all the Trio Island sub-plot stuff. While on One Island.. Caught Moltres!! Just one ''Rock Tomb'', just one ''spore'', just one Great Ball... Lol. I was really surprised.
+I'm now in Giovanni's Gym. Will update if i survive the League.

Played for a little bit last night. :] Here's an update:

+Took on the Fushia gym leader. Beat him with no problem at all.
+Trained my Pokemon for a minute; afterward, headed to the Pokemon Center and dropped my Raticate off in the PC to pick up my Lapras; my first HM slave. (surf, of course)
+Started surfing toward Seafoam Island.
+Went through the cave; catching a few Pokemon.
+Caught Articuno with no problem. (just two hyper beams and five ultra balls)
+Made it out of the cave and began surfing to Cinnabar Island (reminising about Missingno. on the way. Those were the days)
+Ressurected my fossil.
+I'm about to head to the mansion place to collect my key and take on the gym!
