Is it possible to remove a Pokemon's held item through a script/asm/hex?

If you're using JPAN's engine, it's fairly simple.
Check the doc he provided and look for the pokemon decryption specials.

Please don't use those. There are already ones built-in to the game you should use instead.

I know you specifically mentioned the specials rather than his redundant functions, but it's just as easy to manually call the built-in functions to do this via ASM than to use JPAN's specials.

I was providing this as a solution for non-ASM folks.
    Not everyone knows it. :x

How would I find out? I know about the various disassemblies on github. Would I have to look for the evolution routine or something?
