Redesigned Stantler.
- Drops Intimidate for a new ability: Warp Reality. Changes its physical moves to special and vice-versa. Say hello to special-based Earthquakes. Becomes much tougher to predict.
Given how much I played FRLG through HGSS I thought I had the first 493 committed to memory, but I had completely forgotten Stantler! I'm playing Black 2 with a Sawsbuck thinking "oh, amazing how long it took them to make a deer pokémon!". That ability is awesome. A Normal-type able to swat aside physically strong Rock-types is cool.
Luvdisc
(An overhated Pokemon if you ask me)
First off, giving it an evolution that'll make it stand out more. Not necessarily making Luvdisc evolve into Alomamola, but any evolution would do. And maybe perhaps raising its bst to maybe 400. I'd also change its ability to Regenerator and make it more of a healer pokemon. Also change up the design a little, maybe adding a small crown motif or something so it's not just a simple sideways heart with a face.
Leave the appearance, some animals do look quite simple. But it definitely needs better stats, I'd up it to 470 BST just like Alomomola, but then have it be a weird counterpart. Perhaps like this:
HP -
49
Atk - 30
Def -
100
SpA - 40
SpD -
100
Spe -
151
So now in the Rain its just...insanely fast. A rough estimation is that in the Rain with max. investment it would speed tie a +2 Deoxys-S. It could still take a hit too (my logic is its a very thin disc, if it turns the other cheek blows skim the surface), but is let down by its HP. Can't hurt anything either. But in Doubles its Heal Pulse would be like using a fighter jet as an ambulance. Regenerator as a secondary or hidden ability is a cool idea, I'll give credit there.
Tropius is one of my favorite Pokémon, and it's a shame not many people care about it, and that its stats are horrid. Its highest stat is 99 in HP, and it's very slow for a Flying-type. I'd give it better stats all around, especially because you'd think a sauropod would be able to dish out some damage and take it. It gets freakin' Dragon Dance, so it'd be nice if it could actually use it.
Yeah I always thought the pokémon based on some of the heaviest creatures to ever exist should have the most painful Stomp around. Keep the low Speed though - I always assumed it referred to acceleration, hence something like Accelgor or Ninjask being insanely speedy yet Dragonite having pokédex entries referring to it breaking the sound barrier travelling the world.
Hypothetically, I'd drop a bit off Speed, and put it up to 514 BST:
HP - 99
Atk - 105
Def - 83
SpA - 95
SpD - 87
Spe - 45
So now its a tank, but in the Sun it can cause some nasty surprises.
EDIT:
Tropius got me thinking of another favourite from Route 119: Castform.
Great design, fun gimmick, solid movepool...just sucky stats. I'd bump it up to have 90 for each stat. Still underpowered, still a gimmick, but one that can occasionally take down the big guys.
