Flygon vs Salamence

I would have to say flygon, because all of its forms are much cuter than salamences!

Positive 252 Atk Flygon has a small chance of OHKOing Salamence. Damage is 88.22% - 103.63%.

edit Not completely accurate; Salamence usually only has 300 or 301 HP & my other calc shows Draco Meteor to be doing 500 dmg :|

ummm, since flygon's a dragon and ground while a salamance is dragon and flying, i'll have to say salamancedespite how much it hurts me. ground doesn't affect flying so only about half of flygon's moves will actually work.
But then again, battling isn't always about types so who knows.

I say either could win becuase it depends on moves abilitys natures lvls and held items

This is kind of the same that Gymnotide posted, apart from that Gym didn't post a working strategy T_T

If the trick is to beat Salamence, then Flygon could use the simple strategy every single pokemon knows: Endure + Berry.
With 80 EV's placed in SpA, and a nice not hindering nature, Flygon could simply endure on the first turn, letting Salamence hit for as much as he wants, eat his berry, then proceed to OHKO with Draco Meteor (100.30% - 118.43%)

Case solved :D

I pick salamence since I used to use him often in the GC pokemon games. He also looks better than flygon in my opinion.

I think Flygon looks better. Salamance reminds me of an overweight lizard. But i do agree with you on who would win.

I've always favored Salamence over Flygon because it was more useful. Still...it makes me sad that Flygon suffers from an inferiority complex when compared to Salamence. The latter of the two has a strong foothold in the Standard battling environment...and Flygon...well, it's just outclassed by it.

Salamence is undoubetdly more useful in battle, but I still personally prefer Flygon. It looks better and I've found it to be versatile.
