The reason why? Infernape's awesome typing and movepool (plus the fact I love monkeys, as I am Year of the Monkey)

And why Cyndaquil? It's cute and Dawn has one in the anime.

Just got mad while playing Platinum, trying to catch a Roselia for my team and I knocked the thing out cos of a f***** critical hit.

My Quagsire wasn't bulky enough to even withstand a hit from Crasher Wake's Floatzel.

Now I really do need X items when facing Gym Leaders.
