Forme Changes

    So, Sun and Moon gave us two Lycanroc, two Wishiwashi, four Oricorio, and brought over Zygarde 10% and Complete formes...and a rainbow of Minior cores, if you want to count those. Already we have rumours of a third Lycanroc, and of course the mascot Legendaries of USUM appear to be some kind of forme or mode change or fusion with Necrozma so, clearly, GF are not done with tinkering with the 7th gen quite yet.

    Excluding Alolan form Pokemon - obviously - would you like to see any 7th Generation Pokemon in Sun and Moon receive new form(e)s? How would they differ from their counterparts? Do we even NEED additional formes to the small lineup of the 7th gen on top of what we already have?
     
    I would like a male Salandit evolution, but probably not going to happen.
     
    I can't see Lycanroc getting a new form since the forms it already has fit with the theme of the games, and shows off a great concept. I could see Marshadow maybe getting a new form if mythicals are taken into account.
     
    I'd actually like another Oricorio if we have a new island...in fact, I would expect there to be one if we do, even.

    Also, where is white Minior. Shiny Minior is black, and we have all the colours of the rainbow...but no white. This actually makes me a little sad.

    I agree. The most I could see them do is changing how it works and make it so that one can get both forms in the same game depending on time of day instead of having them be version exclusive.

    Though... what if the Lyranrocs we have now get new forms? Like Ultra Midday Lycanroc xD. They do seem to get the solar/lunar energy from the mascots it seems (at least that's the only way one can explain them being version exclusive), so maybe the ultra forms of the mascots will allow them to have some of their own.

    I'm sure the Lycanroc we saw in the announcement trailer was just a standard Midday Form Lycanroc. Also, remember that the Lycanroc forms aren't interchangeable.
     
    Maybe we will have a Eclipse form Lycanroc, who knows. I would love that.

    I didn't say anything about either of those things :/. Just speculating about their current forms being given ultra forms. I actually saw some youtubers with the same idea a few days ago xD.
     
    I don't think USUM will be introducing a TON of new forms due to the transferring of Pok?mon between SM & USUM BUT new forms might be accessible in USUM from a new feature being introduced in USUM, we'll find out !
     
    I say ten at the most for new forms.
     
    Like Gardy said, my likely guess is just Solgaleo and Lunala being the only new forms of this game. But you know, I could be surprised if something unexpected gets revealed, like what happened with the Therian Formes of the Forces of Nature trio in B2/W2.

    Which Pokemon do you think would be eligible for that kind of "Therian Forme" treatment, though? Honestly, with all of them being in kind of a shell - and as the only other Legendaries - I think the Island Guardians might have Awakened Formes or something for when the Ultra Beasts appear...that'd be nice, and it'd expand on their role in the games, too.

    ...I can't be the only one who was annoyed we didn't get to see Tapu Koko fight Pheromosa...

    I'd probably say either the Tapus or Ultra Beasts, since I know Marshadow has a "form" where its body parts turn green but that doesn't count because that's only when it's doing stuff like its signature Z-Move.

    There was also that original colouring of Magearna that resembled the regular Poke Ball colours, so maybe we could see that becoming available in US/UM via an event.

    I can't see the UBs getting alternate formes honestly; they don't strike me as being similar to Giratina where they would take on a different forme in their own dimension, and given their already wacky and varied designs giving them a redesign seems a bit counterproductive. It's possible - especially with USUM having that "Ultra" theme to it - but it doesn't seem likely, since they're generally not portrayed as being actual Pokemon as we understand them, so giving them formes - something other Pokemon have - would seem a bit strange.

    Magearna isn't a new thing, though...although admittedly it WOULD make sense to have it in US/UM, since there is no way to change between its formes.
     
    I think the day and night form were reserved as evolutions for Lycanroc
    I don't see the starters getting them.

    I'd like to see this happen more than any forme change.

    Something like that probably wouldn't happen until a new gen though.
