Issue: Forums incompatible with macs?

Whenever I post on my mac my posts get all messed up. Some of the characters change, but this doesn't happen all the time. I am unable to use paragraphs, and I can't write long messages or else they get cut off. I don't have this problem on my PC or Windows laptop, so I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with macs and these forums. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if there's any way to fix it... (I'll try and expand on what the problem is when I get home, for I'm on my mac right now... With the long post problem. -_-)

I'm using a Macbook Pro and nothing's stuffing up for me, if that helps? I've deleted Safari and downloaded Firefox for Mac, but, so maybe it's your internet browser and not the computer that's incompatible.

I've been on PC with my mac for about two and a half years now, and never have I had this problem o.o

Are you sure it's not just a specific problem with your computer? And a few screen pics might help as well.

I've never used Safari, I dislike it overall. The browser I use is Firefox, ver3.5.2. Don't ask me the specifics about my computer, quite frankly I don't know. It was given by my school to be used for schoolwork/during school hours. (I'll probably return it soon, as the school also allows students to use their own computer from what I've been informed after complaining about some problems installing software.) And I don't think it's a problem with the computer, as I have no problem posting in other forums normally. :/ I honestly have no idea what the problem is... But I'll take a screen shot of this post before I send it, since you want screen shots... And that's all I can think of to help. xD https://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2gx3gxs&s=7

im on a mac and using safari and its been working well for me so far.

And that screenshot is from the Mac? Looks normal to me. Make sure you're not unintentionally pressing any keys or leaning on the touchpad when doing so. That sometimes happens to me from time to time.

Uh... What? My problem is that when I press "post" it changes my entire post from the screenshot, to what you see.

I don't believe pressing a button while hitting "Submit Reply" is going to cause all my spacing to disappear (and delete the majority of my posts), and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't hit the same button every time... :/

If it's not the fact I'm using a mac that's the problem, I have no idea what is.

And after Previewing this post, it appears to keep the spacing on my Windows laptop... So it has to be an issue with my mac in particular.

You say you're using Firefox, right?

This post was typed on the "Reply to Topic" page on Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 on Firefox Version 3.5.16, so if the spacing doesn't fail, it's either your version of Firefox (though I doubt it), or it could be because you're using an older Mac, since you didn't specify what version and whatnot it was.

...Yup, looks like it worked just fine for me. And it's always been this way on Safari and Chrome for me, too, so it might just be your Mac version or Firefox.

EDIT: /I hope this doesn't get overlooked, but...

This is probably not so likely, but it might also be your forum skin. But the only problems with skins that I've had regarded signatures, so like I said, this is unlikely.

I decided to download Google Chrome since that is what I use on my PCs, so let's see what happens when I send this...

Oh, and Lucy, my Mac is "OS X Version 10.5.8", the same as yours. And my Firefox version is 3.5.2, and I am using the skin "Forever Standing".

Seems like Google Chrome keeps my spacing after I Preview it, let's see if it holds up when I send it...

EDIT: Yup, seems like the problem was with Firefox. I'm using the same Skin as I used on Firefox, so there's no problem there...

I didn't expect that to be the problem, as I've never had a problem with it before. Oh well.

Thanks for suggesting Google Chrome, Archer. And thanks Lucy for taking the time to write such a long response, xD. Thanks to everyone else as well.

I guess this thread can be locked now, since the problem is apparently fixed?
