3rd Gen FR/LG: Golbat not evolving

    Certain Pokemon in FR/LG will not evolve before the National Pokedex. Some examples of this are Golbat and Chansey will not evolve into Crobat and Blissey. You also cannot trade Pokemon outside the Kanto Pokedex until you obtain the Ruby and Sapphire items in the Sevii Islands.

    What is your opinion on this? I've never had it happen to me, but I'm sure it's annoying seeing an evolution cutscene play only for it to be automatically stopped because you don't have the National Pokedex.
     
    Golbat is the most common example, I guess, and it hurts me on a personal level. The options for Fly Pokemon in Fr/Lg are, let's face it, absolute garbage (aside from legendary birds). Crobat on the other hand is a very good Fly Pokemon, but the GameFreak didn't allow you to use it. I'm glad that the later remakes embraced the new evolutions.
