Me and several other people over at the RM2K section are having some serious trouble finding places to store our game files online reliably for free. Most of us have Freewebs accounts, and the downloads transfer at about 1kb/s, which is unbearable. It takes hours for just a small d/l. Many of us tried Lycos- Tripod and Angelfire. They tore down all our sites for no apparent reason. I actually found a good one, but within one week of having uploaded my files the site totally died. I've searched almost everywhere at www.free-webhosts.com and found virtually nothing.

Can someone please help with this problem?

I was really excited about Walagata, but they're not accepting any new free accounts until late May. That's coming up, so I'll check that out.

Yahoo briefcase I can't use because you can't upload over 5 megs at a time, and the games are usually 5 and up.

I'm trying the village photos thing... I'm hoping it works!!!! *crosses fingers*

Uploading now, but you never know. www.mvhosted.com would only upload certain files... you never know. It uploaded one game, but not the other. Whatever....

EDIT: Meh, I tried village photos files, and it didn't work. It only allows 3 meg uploads per file, but 30 total.

    PLEASE HELP!

Me and my friends use RM2K, and my friend uses Angelfire to host his... it never tore down his stuff o_O. Anyway, have you tried searching for "Interest: Storage" at www.clickherefree.com ?

Yeah, I guess that's the best idea. Has anyone used this walataga thing? Is there a limit to how much you can upload per file? Because most of the hosts can have up to 100 megabytes, but will only accept files less than five megs. That's really annoying because what I'm trying to host is 5.5 megs.

Why don't you take JKaizer's offer to host the files? I think it would be more reliable for you then anything else that's being posted here.

If the people are willing to send over AIM, then sure, I'll host 'em.

...I have 100 GB open space, so MEH! :P

There are programs that can spilt a file up, and then the client can use to piece them back together again if you want to use those services you mentioned earlier.

    WinRAR does that...

But most people don't want to go to the trouble of installing yet another program...

Meh, WinRAR is bulky but I?m pretty sure these people are hard core enough about their games to install it. =p Still, very nice of you, offering your space. ^_^

    Like I said, I have plenty. :p

And I use WinRAR just because it can unzip a bunch of different file types, while WinZIP can only do .zips IIRC.

But WinRAR is expensive, and there is no freeware alternative to it that I could find...

Jesse, you don't have 100GB do you? You must mean 100MB... o_O

No... you're hosted on the server that I pay for.

I also have built a server, which has over 100 GB free on it. ;P
