Whenever you rent a DVD and if you have a vcr that can copy you can copy the whole movie on to tape and return the dvd and watch the movie whenever you want.
Well with games, the vcr just records what you play...when I used to play Animal Crossing I would tape some of the special events whenever they would happen.
But like Kairi said, if you have a VCR that can do that with DVDs (which seems highly unlikely since I thought DVD players had some sort of thing that caused the video to tape a black screen or blue screen or static instead of the picture on the screen) it's theft, plain and simple.
It?s very illegal. As for games, you can pop em in your computer a burn a copy. As long as you have a modded system you can play them back. =\ It?s an awful abuse of the rental industry.

You can't copy a videogame that easily. You would need a program to break the copyright code to copy the game. Then you would mod the system with a mod chip to play the copied game. As for copying DVD movies to VHS, I think it is find to do so for personal use such as a backup copy even though it would be very poor quality. As for copying DVD movies to VHS to sell them or giving them out in some way, I don't think that is right.

Not only that Kairi but, They have them on the Black-Market and whenever you copy stuff it comes with really sucky quality so pretty much if you copy it you lose, unless your backing it up it's not illegal but you have to explain yourself..
Meh..it's possible, but you have to know how to get around Macrovision..which just sends static and random colors onto a vcr tape when your recording a DvD..but it doesn't really matter..being as when you do so, your becoming a theif..now if you can live with that..then it's all gravy.

Then they would be snitching, and that's not cool, see even though someone is breaking the law, Its more fun for them to get busted by the cops then to be busted after someone told on time.
Cops are everywhere, In my house, in the schools, everywhere... waiting to snitch your IP out to the head honcho of some big place known for filing Lawsuits against poor defenseless people who had the intention of telling others how to deliberately break the law :) But... Thats America.. GRRRRR EUROPE ROCKS.
