In X and Y, we have a different kind of Safari Zone, which is located in Kiloude City, called Friend Safari. As its name suggests, it lets you visit your friend's Safari and catch one of three Pokémon available on each of the safari they visit. What's your opinion on a different take of Safari Zone, and did you manage to get the Hidden Ability Pokémon there?

Personally, I like the Friend Safari better than the Safari Zone. I never really liked the Safari Zone's limited number of steps and the somewhat different method of catching Pokemon. With the Friend Safari there's none of that crap AND you can even get shiny or HA Pokemon out of it. Sure, maybe the Friend Safari areas are really boring, but I don't care; I'm there to catch Pokemon.

The one real downside to it though is that it requires you to have people registered in your 3DS friends list, and for some people that is a serious issue. And the limited space. 100 people sounds like a lot at first, but you'll fill that up quicker than you'd think, especially if Pokemon isn't your only game.

Similarly to above, I'm personally fond of Friend Safari a lot more than regular ones. In Safari Zone, we were restricted to only a limited amount of Pokémon when it comes to encountering, which does help losing interest in the place when you've captured each and every one. We also have limitations in Friend Safari, undeniably, but what sets this apart is that we're able to raise our range of encounter-able Pokémon at any time by adding more friend-codes and whatnot, which I believe many of us appreciate.

Some people didn't like the Friend Safari, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. While having to hook up with others and get their FCs for it does seem somewhat impractical, there are some nice possibilities that it provides. Aside from what's already been said, it definitely helps that everything there is guaranteed at least 2 perfect IVs, which in turn was probably made to help competitive players ready their teams but it usually helps in getting you to breed whatever cool Pokémon you're trying for. (Key word: "usually", as not everything is there, but there are plenty of things to be obtained in it.)

I really enjoyed Friend Safari, the fact that it made so many Pokémon available was great whereas in the normal Safaris I'd generally only go in the once to get the one or two Pokémon I wanted. This Safari had a lot more longevity, and I really liked how the Friend Safari invited more people to Battle and Trade to get each other's Friend status so the Friend Safari was something you could keep going back to, if only just to see what new pokés were available :) I also liked how they were grouped under typing :)

And the limited space. 100 people sounds like a lot at first, but you'll fill that up quicker than you'd think, especially if Pokemon isn't your only game.

So far I have deleted 100+ FCs that I've accumulated within the past year. And my Friend List is at 96 again, I need to sort out that thing soon. :'D

Otherwise, the change was a huge welcome to me. A good access to Hidden Abilities that is not limited to being daily or at random chance (looking at you, Dream World and Hidden Grottos), of course I'd welcome it with open arms. :>

But normal Safari is great to me as well... until you encounter a shiny, obviously.

I actually have yet to really go check it out. But I think it's a pretty neat idea in gathering pokemon for breeding reasons.

I really like the Safari for increased shiny rate purposes.

I am currently seeking to expand my FS, would anyone like to exchange friend codes and help? ☺️
