I'm so angry because freindship evos exist. Like why does it exist. Why is it that it is guaranteed to make you stick with something unevolved to late game. Why does it exist. It's ****ing pointless and it shouldn't have been made and I want to burn every living creature alive because of it. So looks like I'm probably going to have a Riolu until late game because of it, and I will automatically see anybody who thinks freindship evos are 'okay' as a hipster.

Do you feel friendship evos shouldn't have been made?

Friendship Evolutions are fine. In my recent White 2 playthroughs I got two Friendship Evolutions (Eevee to Espeon and Swadloon to Leavanny) after beating Burgh in the 3rd Gym. That's not exactly 'late-game.'

Friendship Evolutions involve baby Pokemon so having the evolve by bonding with their trainer makes a lot of sense.

In the case of Swadloon it is based on a 'shut-in' so having it evolve through friendship makes even more sense.

So in short friendship Evolutions are fine and are a good idea.

It's not my preferred method of evolution due to the amount of time it takes to make a Pokemon fully happy. That said, it does make you feel like you have achieved a special bond with your Pokemon, almost making the games more life-like if that makes sense. I always appreciate a good friendship evolved Pokemon such as Lopunny or Crobat.

It's a neat idea, but it's really taking a long time and I appreciate the variety of evolution ways.

    Spoiler:

I find it bit annoying and troublesome to evolve a pokemon thru friendship(happiness) because it take very considerable amount of time to evolve, unless you got something to boost it's happiness (massage)

The concept is nice, but it gets very tedious because of how long it takes raising happiness in the first place. That's why I rarely use these Pokemon on my main team and if the evolution is catchable (such as Roselia or Marill) I'd rather catch that instead of the baby.

One thing i hate about friendship evos are those of the baby pokemon and them having evolve way too late. I think i made a mess with a Budew in my Platinum playthrough where it evolved way too late because i couldn't get the happiness up asap and that seedling evolving way too late meant that i missed out a lot of Roselia's really good learnset. So i ended up having a Roselia with subpar moves and had to catch another one since I really wanted a decent Roserade in my team.

It's an interesting concept that started out as a nuisance but as of lately got a lot better. I still remember how long it took in GSC to evolve Togepi/Eevee, where I basically managed to evolve them after reaching the Pokemon League. On the other hand whenever I was picking up either Riolu or Azurill in White 2 relatively early in the game, they always evolved somewhere in the early 20s, which was around the time when I obtained the third badge.

I agree with a few of the others about how it feels more realistic and makes you feel accomplished that you were able to bond with the Pokemon enough and make it happy causing the evolution.

Though yes, that can be a bit long and tedious, for some of the Pokemon, it makes it that much more satisfying when it finally happens.

It never bothered me much. Sometimes it takes forever, but sometimes it could be sooner then I expected.
