2nd Gen G/S/C Monotype Challenge

All right, Chapter 1: The Story Begins

Ah, today was the day. I finally turned old enough to legally own a Pokemon. For my birthday, my mom got me my own Pokegear! Yay! I headed next door to see which Pokemon Elm would let me choose from. I had to choose between a Chikorita, Cindiquil, and a Totodile. Well, being the water lover that I am, the choice was obvious. I got my Totodile, and named him Jaws. To break him in, Professor Elm had me run an errand north of Cherrygrove City to get see what some loony named Mr. Pokemon wanted. So I left for his house. When I got there, I saw Professor Samuel Oak, possibly the leading researcher of Pokemon of all time. He hooked me up with a Pokedex that he was working on! Cool! Anyways, Mr. Pokemon had an egg that he wanted me to show to Elm. I gladly took it, rested for a bit, and left. As soon as I stepped outside, Elm called me. He was talking like something terrible happened, but he wouldn't say what; he just told me to hurry back to the lab. So I did. Or at least, I tried to, but some rude guy bumped into me as I was leaving Cherrygrove. He was really mean, and had a Chikorita that looked suspiciously familiar. Anyways, after he got killed by Jaws, he ran off calling me weak. If I'm weak, and I beat him, then what's that make him? I shrugged him off and hurried back to the lab. The police were there. Someone had broken in and stolen a Chikorita. I explained to them that I fought the guy and he was running towards Violet City. They thanked me and gave chase. Professor Elm was shocked when he saw the egg. Apparently, this kind of thing has never been seen. He decided that I should also give chase to the red-haired menace, and collect the Johto gym badges while I was at it. So I headed for Violet City. I clobbered a few trainers in my way, and made it to the city. Jaws and I went straight for the gym, and nobody in there put up any kind of a fight, not even Falkner, the gym leader. I got my first badge and was on my way. Since I was in a nice city, I decided to call it a day and take a break.

Ok, So After beating Falkner and heading down Route 32, I beat ever trainer along the way and in the union cave. Still using my Zubat and Pidgey, i beat Team Rocket and my Rival. Pidgey evolved to Pidgeotto, and i beat the Azalea City gym.

Going through the Ilex forest, I caught 3 more Pidgey, a hoothoot and a Noctowl. after beating all the trainers in the park, and in the underground, i challenged Whitney, where i was utterly murdered.

After four tries, i beat her and my team looks like this.

Rescued Farfetch'd and got Cut
Caught a Paras for HM slave
Got to Goldenrod
Got 2 Ice Punches and taught it to Rapids and Jaws
Rapids Evolved to a Quagsire
Beat Whitney
Defeated Sudowoodo
Beat Kimono Girls and got Surf
Taught it to everyone in my party other than Paras
Beat Morty, and Jaws evolved into a Feraligatr
Saved and turned off game

Stuff does always seem to happen when I'm not there...
So, I don't really get the point of making a new thread. When I had that idea, the situation was a completely different one, the old thread was also still alive, but the first post had not been updated for months. Which is - Well, I know that self-praise is not good, but there's no other way... - not the case, I try to update this as often as possible, and even though I don't really often welcome new challengers and congratulate the winners most of the time (because it would look like posthunting in the more active phases of this thread), I still try to help with the occassional problems and questions.

Whatever, no matter how this turns out, I am going to win. If the other thread outlives this one, I will have less work, if the other one dies or gets closed, I will have the triumph.[/arrogance]


By the way, I'm not going to be very active the next week. I have to write an important 10-pages essay for school till next thursday, which I have already procrastinated more than enough.

I've been meaning to try out a Ledian in 2nd gen games for a while now so i guess this will ive me a chance.
 
I started the game
Did all the storyline stuff
Beat rival
Caught a Ledyba
then saved and waited for it to be night
Caught a spinarak
Grinded like a mad man
Challenged falkner and won with my overleveled pokemon.
Went to pokemon centre and got a togepi egg.

just beat the elite four and lance. it was really easy.

bruno has never been a challenge, and this time was no exception. he was swept by omg santa! which is very sad for him.

maybe slightly overleveled for the elite four considering lance's highest level pokemon was level 50, but come on. it's a delibird and a dewgong. that's not a very good team. those guys really need to step it up.
