Then red and co. will be 19 years old then.
19?
They were only 16 at the end of Emerald. D/P takes two years or one year?

Spoiler:
My theory is that Platinum connects to D/P in that Dia and Pearl are somehow transported to the Other World during the final battle by Giratina and Platina is on a mission to try and find more information about it. Although I'm not really sure why she's going around the BF, but it makes the arc more interesting. ^^; Anyway, that's not what this is about. I really don't think that, with what we've seen so far, the Pokedex Holders are going to be making an appearance in Platinum. I mean, I know it's somehow been established as a tradition, but I just don't see them reappearing in this arc. I think it's more logical to believe that the other Dex Holders, who I am going to assume are the Johto Trio, the Hoenn Trio, and maybe the Sinnoh Trio, will appear in HG/SS, and the final meeting would be in 5th Gen. But my theories are usually wrong. :P
I've said this before on a different thread, but I'll say it again-just because Kanto is close to Johto does not necessarily mean that the Kanto Holders will make an appearance. Certainly, it's liable that they will make an appearance, a cameo or a mention of some kind, but I don't think, based on how much screentime they've gotten in the series, that they would. I'm pretty sure that they'd have to eventually based on the tradition of "Have all the Dex Holders gather together at the end of some kind of arc" but that doesn't mean they would appear in HG/SS. They could just as well appear in 5th gen. And personally I'd love to see the Dex Holders grown up and having jobs, but also still taking on their responsibilty as Dex Holders. Green would, at the very least, since he's Oak's grandson. What about the Kanto Dex Holders? I know that Red, Green, and Blue will be 17 or 18 years old when they appeared but was it ever stated that they will retired from being a dex holder when they reach 18 years old and what about Yellow as well. I could see the Kanto dex holders making an appearance because the residents of Kanto and Johto has close ties with each other. I also could see Ruby going to visiting a someone in Goldenrod City since it was his hometown. the lines and Sapphire could accompany him or something along the lines. Emerald seem to have a close relationship with Crystal so I do not see any problem with him appearing either. The question is how are Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum will make an appearance in the HGSS arc? I guess we will have to find out.
Red, Green, and Blue are three years older than Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Emerald arc took place at the beginning of July of that year, which was two month after the FRLG arc meaning that the FRLG arc took place in May of that year. Crystal is 13 years old since her birthday is on April 30 in the Emerald arc and Gold and Silver is 12 years old since Gold's birthday is July 21 and Silver's birthday is December 24. So in the FRLG arc Red, Green, and Blue were 15 years old in the FRLG arc instead of 16 years old since Red birthday is August 8, Green's Birthday is on November 22, and Blue's birthday is on June 1 the FRLG arc, however Blue was 16 years old in the Emerald arc since her birthday has pass though. I am going to assume that Gold, Silver, and Crystal will be 14 or 15 years old in the HGSS arc.
Actually the anime never follows the manga/game. HGSS will contain Gen I dex holders without a doubt(Actually its pretty doubtful:P?). I think that Gen I dex holders may just do something like they did in Crystal or in Emerald in the end. I hope that Gold, Silver and Crystal(probably the new girl too) will get enough space in this manga.( I would be dissapointed if red and co. don't make an appearance though as Red and co. are my favourates, specially Red!) In the end I just want to say that the creators of the manga always surprise us and will definitely surprise us this time too!they probably will and if the do so will anime lol that is how i think it will work if one does they both will
We do not know the who story of the DP arc so the Kanto dex Holders could make an appearance in either the Platinum arc or the HGSS arc. They do not have to play a major role either to appear for all we know they could in the last chapter of the HGSS arc and still make an appearance. I got the information about the Pokedex Holders birthdays from the Pokemon Special magazine. Also keep in mind that we still have yet to know about the Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver games meaning that Red or Green (meaning the game character) could aid the player in some point of the game and it could be a possibility that it could be incoporated in Pokemon Special as well.I've said this before on a different thread, but I'll say it again-just because Kanto is close to Johto does not necessarily mean that the Kanto Holders will make an appearance. And wow, where'd you get all that info, Mika? O.o Well, either way, Gold and co. will be older and more mature then they are now. That's all that matters to me. XDD
Like I said, Mika, I think that since Kanto is close to Johto, they might get a mention or a cameo or something, but I also think an HG/SS arc would focus more on the characters I stated earlier. And if Platinum and Emerald are anything to go by, then I think it would be more likely to believe that Pokespecial will incorporate a new area from the games. It already placed Red and Green back in the original arc.We do not know the who story of the DP arc so the Kanto dex Holders could make an appearance in either the Platinum arc or the HGSS arc. EDIT:
Spoiler:I just remember Byron mention in the magazine version of the DP arc that someone from other region won 80 badges. I think could have been refering to Sapphire. If this sentence is released in the volume version then one of the first 13 pokedex holders would have been mention.

Spoiler:Really? Hm, you could be right-but there's also a chance it could be Red, couldn't it? I agree with it being Sapphire, though; it would fit better with the newer generations making appearances in HG/SS.
Okay I see what you are talking about though it could be a possibility that Red and Green (the game characters) could make brief of appearance in the additional areas.
I wonder how the new Johto dexes and PokeGear will be distribute. The question is how will they be distribute. I have some ideas that they could already have their update Pokedexs and PokeGear or they will get a notification to pick it up. On the wallpaper for the official site I so something that resemble an Ancien East Asian setting. I know you all might think this is crazy, but anyway I think their is a possiblity for a couple of chapters that the writers could have the Johto dex Holders trap in the past it could rewind or fastfoward to another point in time to show some series of events. Then the timewrap could occasionally rewind or fastfoward them to other period of time.
\Certainly, if they do something like move the final battle with Red to a new area, then it's possible.
That is actually an idea I've had myself. O.O I also thought that, if they do any time traveling, it could mean the return of Pryce (Not to mention his Piloswine might evolve). What? It could happen--recycling villains is something Pokespe does. Not to mention if they keep the Serebii event (Or update it somehow) then I think that possibility will increase.
As for Pokegear+Pokedexes...Hm. You're right, they probably WILL update them, based on their new appearances, but how to do it...Maybe if Elm is brought back (Which, you know, he probably will) then they could create a new plot there? Yeah, lame idea...^^;
\
I like the idea of time travel but I wonder if the Johto Dex Holders will interact with people of the past if so I wonder how it will it affect the future. That is if they are able to communication with people of the past.
I would not be surpise if Pryce could return since he has been lost in the vold of time and I would not be surpise if he was a villain again either because as you say Pokemon Special does recycle villains and Pryces Piloswine becoming a Mamoswine by ancient power could mean that it would be a stronger opponent. I think that there is also a possibility that Professor Elm will come back though I am wonding what role would he play in the HGSS arc?
Something that I realized recently is that Pokespe never had a flashback or reference to Gold's past. See...
Red-He was well known as a strong battler before Pokespe began
Green-His training at Chuck's
Blue-The whole of the G/S/C arc was a flashback for her.
Yellow-When they revealed her reason for disguising herself as a boy
Crystal-They had that flashback when she was training as a kid
Silver-Same as Blue in FR/LG
Ruby-The flashback with Sapphire
Sapphire-The flashback with Ruby
Emerald-When they revealed his reason for coming to the BF
Dia-He and Pearl are childhood friends
Pearl-He and Dia are childhood friends
Platina-Spoiler:This is from the recent summary, but apparently she's been to lake Acuity before but lost her memory there (Uxie perhaps?).
As you can see, Gold is the ONLY one who's past hasn't been elaborated on. I think that in HG/SS, this could be a chance to utilize his past and time travel in some way. That and Manaphy--His 'Breeder' ability hasn't been used much either.
Yes, Pryce might return. But I can't really see him as a villain--remember, at the end of the G/S/C arc his heart 'melts'. So, technically, he's a good guy now. Maybe he could come back as a sort of...Helpful character? And if they do another, "Proffessor gets caught by the bad guys and held hostage" I will scream. That was the only thing I had an issue with in FR/LG.
YES WE DO!! XDNetto Azure said:Oh course we need one. And I agree. WE NEED MORE TIME TRAVELLING LOLZ! XD
Yes.drunk ¬_¬ said:there will definitely be a HG/SS arc,
i think crys will stay with either oak or elm,
and manaphy sounds like an awesome idea to go with gold :D
Okay, please don't laugh at my theory. So, we don't really know much about Gold's past, but the title for the games is HEARTGold, right? Maybe Gold actually has some kind of dark past that he needs to get over. I told you not to laugh. >.>I agree with you Gold needs some kind of backstory and it could be related to a possibly time travel plot. Okay you make a good point about Pryce though, but the question is where would he be in the past? Do you have any ideas how Manaphy can be incoporate in the time travel plot. I can think of it being a egg that Gold has be given or found, but carried along with him.
Oh yes, new thought--isn't one of Manaphy's moves called 'Heartswap'? And it's HeartGold? I could totally see that working with the name thing in some way. I feel even more certain that Manaphy will appear now.
YES WE DO!! XD
Yes.
Why do you think so?
YAY!! Another Manaphy supporter!! *Throws conffetti*

Anyway, perhaps Pryce landed in the time when Gold was younger? Then the plot unfolds from there...somehow...^^;
Well, what I really want to know is whether or not Pokespe will cross dimensions with the Pokemon Rangers manga, like with a reference or something. That could explain where it came from. And since Gold's always travelling around on his own, maybe he goes to Sinnoh and comes across the egg by accident? Maybe the Hiker gives it to him? (You know, the one who gives you Happiny in the game-I haven't seen him appear yet)

EDIT: Another thought-With the new event for HG/SS, where you can get either Dialga/Palkia/Giratina, do you get them in an egg? If so, then that could be something for Gold's ability. Also, it's been rumored that other legendaries (Latias, Latios, and Mewtwo) can be gotten in the remakes. Do you think this will be brought into the manga in some way?
