I heard a few tracks (and going to listen to a few more) and I have to admit it's a very different album for Donald. The fact he's not rapping on this album was something I never expected, but I think it works out well for me.

7 imo. favorite songs were redbone, me and your mama, and stand tall. as a huge gambino fan, i was of course very excited/interested to see the new direction he took, but i was kinda let down. i was more under the impression that the whole album would be as intense and wild as me and your mama. though i was pleasantly surprised with the simplicity and marvel of tracks like stand tall (check my sig fam) and baby boy, it feels kinda all over the place in terms of style, especially in tracks like california (which was actually one of my favorite cuts from the album). not that thats a bad thing, one of my favorite projects to come out of this year was The Life of Pablo, haha. i feel like terrified was the next best thing stylistically from me and your mama, along with zombies. i enjoyed hearing those songs, while i was kinda bored listening to songs like have some love, in all honesty. i really hope he expands on this new genre, but im honestly up for anything music-wise if he chooses to release another album.

also where is stand tall lmao

I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit disappointed in the album. There was a lot of hype behind it and I expected it to be a lot better than what it was. It's pretty average in my opinion, but it definitely has some great tracks. My favorites are Stand Tall, Me And Your Mama, The Night Me And Your Mama Met, Redbone and Zombies.
