Game consoles 'cause skin sores'

Jack Thompson's been disbarred, so it's not like he can do anything besides babble about in the media, and even then he's not gonna be able to get a lot of attention.

They don't. Hence the fact that anybody who blames it on a PS3 is a blind fanboy.

I literally grew up with a GBC/GBA/NDS in my hands, and I never once had hand injuries from playing. And I'd play for 8 hours straight every darn day!

Now the PS2 controller DID make my hands kinda sore. (I used to play Kingdom Hearts nonstop for hours on end.) It didn't do that much damage though.

Though to be honest, I've got a high pain tolerance. I'm not phased by things that might make other people scream bloody murder.

All PlayStation controllers are basically the same. There is not much difference between them, so I don't see the point of mentioning the console's type.
 
Wow, seriously? o_o I've never had that happen. Are you sure the girl wasn't playing it excessively? Because I'm sure that could happen. D:
 
Eugh. Of course you're going to get sores from a PlayStation controller, the Gamecube controller is far more comfortable. I haven't ever gotten sores from using those.
 
Well, i will say that my hands sweat alot more while holding the controller. Though, I've NEVER gotten sores from it. o_o

I mean it's possible some people could have weaker hands too. :x She's only twelve and her hands are probably small and not as strong.

I don't know. I'm just tossing out the possibilities. It just doesn't seem that much a big deal to me. There could be SO many reasons she got sore hands from playing the controllers. D:
 
I don't recall ever getting skin sores from holding the controller. Also, believe it or not, the palms of my hands DON'T sweat (not kidding).

With the GameCube controller in mind, I can definitely say that it's worth it to buy first-party. My older GameCube controller died on me and I was in need of a new one, so I went to GameStop and bought the GameStop-brand controller for the sake of cost and practicality. However, I've discovered that when playing games that heavily rely on the C-stick, like TimeSplitters 3, it kills my thumb because it snaps tightly back to position instead of feeling loose and free-moving like a Nintendo-brand controller. The shape of it, being "mini-sized" and all, also causes your fingers to cramp from awkwardly grasping the controller. It's fine to use as a general everyday-purpose controller, but the downsides prevent prolonged play. Unfortunately, that gives Metroid Prime an alloted 1-2 hour time slot. :(

Even though the controls are mapped out the same as the DS bar Start and select? Stop trying to stir up more arguments man.

You know what game did cause me pain? Metroid Prime hunters, it was really, really hard on the wrists.

Still there is not enough conclusive evidence to prove that video games were the cause of the sores, she could have had a small allergic reaction to something around causing the red lumpy sores on her hands
 
Dude. I play on the PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP almost 24/7. I haven't got a single sore. My hands sweat slot when I am playing games, still no sores. I have been playing since I was about 6, at least 4-5 hours a day, without a break. I have NEVER gotten a sore from the PlayStation, or any other video game console. This is just some people saying 'Omg, hand sores. lets blame it on a game' which is what they do with everything else. Have you noticed? If someone is injured, and they play video games, they blame the video games, no question, even if there is another reason of why it could happen.

Anyway, they can't REALLY blame Sony, because they do warn you to take breaks regularly. If you don't, and you gets sores or cramps, that's your fault.

Anyway, one girl. ONE. How can that even prove anything, if it was 60 children, all with the same game console, all playing it obsessively, and they all get the same sores, fine. That would make more sense.
 
Well, that certainly is... very matter-o-fact.

Well, it's not really fact, because playing video games doesn't make you get sores, but then again,sometimes just wearing new shoes gives you blisters on your feet, so...
 
Meh. I've played the DS, Wii and GameCube and the most that happened was that my hands got tired.
