Garchomp Tier Discussion / Debate

No, we're not complaining about everything, just Garchomp currently. (And to a lesser extent Deoxys-S)

The reasons have been stated in the thread. The other threats do have 100% counters, while Garchomp hasn't. (according the the creator of the thread) The idea is to have a meaningful discussion on where Garchomp would be best suited. It's not based on preference, so if all you have to say is 'I want Garchomp to be Uber so I can use my favourite pokemon', then this thread isn't for you.

im not saying it for the sake of favorites im just saying since garchomp has no real counters u need to have a specific way of taking it down and that requires specific pokemon which is annoying since your options are narrowed down when making a team
 
That is one of the points put forward, that Garchomp overcentralizes the metagame by forcing the use of certain pokemon. The counter argument is these pokemon can still be utilized against other threats in the metagame, and so wouldn't be completely wasted with Garchomp removed from play.

Which, to an extent is also sort a reassuring that pokemon won't lose their usefullness if Garchomp were to leave the Metagame.
